    Man you saved a lot of people including myself a lot of time and money, I was able to fix mine after watching the first video and fortunately seeing in the comments where somebody said disconnect the battery, I would have thought it was broken for good after I put it back together but disconnecting the battery made the actuator work when reconnecting, I've got a chiltons manual for my vehicle and it was worthless, ha, who would ever think disconnecting and reconnecting the battery would be the final fix, before I saw your video I got the hatch to pop open slightly and was stuck so I couldn't open the rest of the way nor close it. I took a flashlight and looked all up in there when it was a part and you can see rust forming in different locations, I blasted that PB blaster all up in there and just let it drip a while, anyway thanks again and I pray blessings on you for blessing us that needed that information. I'm on a fixed income also, ha

      Well now that you helped me fix that I got another problem, when I put the back seat down the button on top the back seat was stuck but finally got it where I could put the seat down to crawl back to fix the tailgate latch, so something's wrong with the latch for the back seat and I searched for videos but only seeing the ones that had a pull tab on top and not a button on the seat, button won't move it's rock solid but I haven't had time to tear into it yet, it's a 2005 4Runner do you have any videos on that?

      Well it worked for a while after disassembling and cleaning and now it gets stuck shut every time and I have to take the battery terminal off, The actuator does suck it in however but then is stuck shut again, I replaced the seal to the window cuz I was getting a lot of water in there, so now I think I need to replace the brain or the actuator or module whatever you call it, do you have the proper name and part number for it? Thanks.

    In the 4th gen, the catch is symmetrical so it can be reversed to present the unused (and clean) side to the latch. The old side will be corroded and maybe a little squared off which makes release difficult.

    I don't understand why a simple door handle for the hatchback needs an electric motor and a little computer to control it. When power fails you can't get into the trunk, so you can't store jumper cables with the spare tire unless you want to crawl through the back. We use a dog barrier so crawling through isn't easy....

    • @ozzstars_cars

    Nice work with the lube, there. Amazing what that stuff can do ... in many situations. 😜
    Love that shirt, Glen - I instantly started laughing! LOVE it! 😁
    Nice Kawi you got there, too. Is that a KLX140? I love playing around on little bikes. I've got a fleet of Yamaha BW80's from the mid-late 80's. Same exact engine as the PW80, only with a longer transmission countershaft so the chain can clear the fat rear tire ... and I think the jetting is a little different as well. They both sound identical, though. I got an '86 BW80 brand new on December 7th, '85 - that was a BIG deal! Still remember the date!! I rode the pee out of that thing. The footpeg crossbar actually broke off from the frame towards the end there. One time I let one of my buddies from school ride it, and he pinned the throttle, panicked and drive it right into the foundation of his neighbor's house! Bent the forks BAD. I was in tears. Dad was livid. He kept the thing in pieces for a few months to teach me a lesson, then surprised me with it all fixed up again after I suffered a bit. LOVED that thing! These days, it's super entertaining to see a bunch of guys in their late 40's-50's riding up the road on them, especially when some of us exceed their weight limit by almost 4x, HAHAHA! If I remember right, the seat height on that is like 24". 😂

    • @ozzstars_cars
      @ozzstars_cars  Před 4 lety +1

      The good old days of riding, when hurting yourself wasn't a thought. If you did get hurt you healed in two days. That is a friends KLX140 dirt bike and you have a good eye! I currently own an '83 Honda Shadow 500, '86 Yamaha FJ1200 and a '02 Honda Shadow Sabre 1100. I own the 500 since 1993, the Sabre 1100 since 2003 and the FJ since 2008. ALll three bikes have a story. Keep the shiny side up and keep it well lubed, that way it won't hurt! lol

    • @SmittySmithsonite
      @SmittySmithsonite Před 4 lety

      @@ozzstars_cars - Yeah, ain't that the truth, Glen!
      I've always wanted an FJ! Ever since seeing Yamaha's fold-out brochure with every single 2-wheeled model they made for that year ('85 - tacked that thing to my bedroom wall then so I could stare at it and dream). I remember seeing the first 1100's in the showroom back then - looked so massive with that giant air/oil cooled 4-banger hanging out the sides! Then when the 1200's came out, we were blown away they'd make something so huge! Was the biggest engine made for a long time! I still dream about the torque output of that thing. Many years later, I repaired one and had to test ride it afterwards, back when I was working in a bike dealership in Phoenix. Just rolling on the throttle in 3rd gear was so much fun! I had been waiting 15 years to ride one.
      Cool you hung on to that Shadow all those years! 😎

    that would pull the fuse with a slight tug.
    Then push it back in.Much easier compared

I put the new switch on connected everything back together I close the door disconnected the battery reconnected it opened it up closed it opened it up closed it everything was fine. Five seconds after closing it I can hear something within the computer actuator sucking something closed like as if it is locked. I have reset it numerous times and it works immediately it will open and close but if I leave it close longer than five seconds it will not open unless I reset the system again. I do 2 clicks on the ignition, and unlock all doors (this is the only way I can use the power lock feature), and turn off, that is the only way I can open the door. Obviously it is something electronic. And it is the same for all the door locks really. My runner is a 2012. I noticed the weather strip on the rear window is decaying, so obviously water is getting in.. .I will fix that ( just need to know what that part is called) Wiper works, all lights work, just nothing when the car is off ( fob does not unlock anything. is it Actuators?
