Dude Henry dropped him, landed like 8 or 9 clean short punches while on top of him, he tried to scramble, he landed like 3 more hard shots, TJ's head looked like an upside down speed bag, ba-ding ba-ding, kept trying to spin around and hopelessly scramble, pretty sure he got dropped like 3 times in 20 seconds, stoppage could be considered a good one at that point. @@SatanicNecrolust I'd like to agree but these guys are professionals and World Champions meaning their punches after YEARS of training are probably the equivalent of a regular 200 maybe 220 pound man... so, brain damage VERY possible....
I just hate the irrelevant rationalizations for why it should have gone on longer: “he worked hard to get there,” “it was a championship fight,” “it was a super fight,” etc., as if any of those have to do with refereeing. Those are all non-sequiturs, otherwise there really isn’t a standard that refs are supposed to try and follow. More to the point, TJ took like 18 unanswered, uncontested shots to the face. He attempted one single leg, got stuffed, and took four more punches to the face which dropped him on his ass again, and only when the ref jump in did he attempt a second, miserable looking single leg. He was discombobulated, stumbling around like a drunkard, repeatedly getting hit hard in the head/face. The ref’s first concern is the welfare of the fighters. I’ve watched the fight probably 20 times now, and I still think it was an okay stoppage - and this is coming from someone who desperately wanted to see TJ get that second belt, and believed he would. It also doesn’t help TJ’s case that every time he gets beaten, he convinces himself he didn’t lose and that he was screwed over.🤷🏻♂️
Actually the fact that it's a championship fight isnt a non-sequitur. Its sort of an unwritten rule that they let championship fights go a little longer. Used to be that way, anyway. I mean, look at the beating Carwin put on Lesnar, with this stoppage Carwin would have been champ
@@Ryan-wb6ne I'm just going little off shit I've heard over the years in MMA and boxing. Fighters in championship fights have gotten that extra chance or two in a plenty of the bouts I've watched. This ref would have called the first Thompson vs Woodley fight over in the 4th and wonderboy went on to win the fifth. Same with frankie vs Maynard. GSP got plenty of chances against serra. Now, I dont think it would have made much of a difference. I dont think T.J. has any business at 125 no matter how good he claims he felt. I'm not even calling it an early stoppage. Just arguing the point that saying it's a championship fight doesnt matter has been shown to be untrue any number of times.
TJ keeps saying he shot for a takedown but in the replay he’s facing away from Cejudo and reaching back with one arm as the referee ends it. He was about to get slaughtered if the ref didn’t stop the fight.
Was Khan You Do realise TJ was 149lbs and Cejudo was 147lbs during the fight right? TJ actually weighed 2lbs more than he usually does when he fights at 135.
Curtis Caudle 100% an early stoppage the ref was jumping around like he’d been out with jbj the night before in saying that Henry definitely would have stopped him giving 10 or 15 more seconds
Many fighters do, and they usually come back to win because the referee's don't stop it early. Not to mention none of those fighters are as durable as Dillishaw.
kalikalla43 I never once said it wasn’t an early stoppage did I? Maybe read the comment before you inject your opinions idiot. Dude not only was he the bigger fighter but he was also cheating by using PEDs. Also he was knocked down three times in a row with in seconds, so while I agree that the ref should've let it play out until he was snoring he's job ultimately is to protect the fighter...
His training and his record has nothing to do with a split second decision. TJ GOT SMOKED. Stop making excuses. It’s pitiful and you should be embarrassed. Plenty of people thought the stoppage was fair. If the roles were reversed Joe would not be talking to Henry about how bad of a stoppage it was. Cejudo dropped him 3 times in 10 seconds. Engaging in this behavior only raises questions against the UFC. TJ looked like a clown in his uncle’s overcoat and his gammy’s glasses at the final press conference. He was acting outside of his normal demeanor. He needs another good beating to get that humble pie down like Cody needed. He needs to be himself and stop trying to take a page out of Conor’s book.
If Mario Yamasaki was the referee, the fight would have gone on 60 seconds longer and TJ would be fumbling his words on this podcast ;) I'm glad the ref stopped him from receiving extra punishment and he's healthy and ready to fight again, that's the most important thing. At a certain point you have to accept the fact that you got dropped multiple times within the span of a minute and the referees job is to protect the fighters.
You act like hes getting hit by Tyson, I'm pretty sure 10 extra punches from a 125lb person wouldn't leave his brain hemorrhaging and him a vegetable. Gtfo who in the UFC that was on the bad side of a late stoppage came back "fumbling their words"? Your just being dramatic he would be fine maybe a couple more bruises and welts. Now at HW and higher weight classes that arent the weight of elementary kids yeah a few extra punches might cause real damage.
Im kinda shocked that rogan thought it was an early stoppage. If you see the highlights, the ref gives TJ as many chances as he could, TJ actually got back to his feet, but got dropped again. Thats when the ref ended it. The thing is, if the ref didnt stop it, cejudo would have just kept hitting him.
@@longgahn4486 lol tj's last fight was called off when cody was still on his feet.. u gonna apply the same logic? Didnt think so. The reality is at a certain point, the health of the fighters factors in. Could tj have taken an extra 20 shots? Maybe but it would not have made a difference

no, he is right. Professional fight analysts Chael Sonnen, a REAL experienced ref John McCarthy, and a bunch of smarter professionals from Joe Rogan to Frank Mir all say it was early. Sorry, you're wrong
@@kyleelpel9402 Daniel Cormier, the most experienced wrestler in the analysis, says Sonnen, Big John, and Joe Rogan are wrong. It's possibly a few seconds early, but TJ's chance of recovering was nonexistent. He was done, he couldn't even stand up for 3 seconds after the ref separated them, he wrestled the ref's leg for a second before realizing it. Some referees would wait a little longer to stop a fight, but it was absolutely correct by the book. The referee did his job perfectly, and stopped it when TJ stopped defending himself, which was after that 3rd knockdown. If you think TJ was still in that fight, you're blind.
@@kyleelpel9402 DC knew immediately from the way TJ was moving on the ground that he was out, and TJ immediately proved he was out by wrestling at the air and trying to grab Cejudo's leg 3 seconds after the fight had been stopped. Ummmm..... Joe if you look at the numbers universally you are wrong.. The stoppage was fine. TJ has no business at 125 that was the reason he got knocked down to begin with. People were saying the same thing about the Cody fight and TJ ran with it. He needs to suck it up,he lost. He had the chicken legs when he got up.
lol Even the first cody fight mirgliota was close to stopping it, TJ had to thank his lucky stars it happened in the last 9 seconds of the fight. If that fight would’ve gone on for just 9 more seconds the fight would’ve also been stopped.

@@ppvplug3940 right and I agree, but in the public eye there was alot of complaints of an early stop..the first fight. Just correcting Joe on his universal statement. Ive seen more people good with the stop than not. 135 TJ wins that fight the weight cut was the reason he got dropped i dont care what he says.
Wasn't as bad a stoppage as TJ is making it out to be (not saying that it was a great stoppage, it could have gone on just a little bit longer, nor am I giving him shit for being as outraged as he was at the stoppage given that it was a little early and for a second belt), especially from the ref's point of view, but the argument could be made that for title fights the ref should let it go on a little longer just to make sure the other fighter is for sure out of the fight. That said TJ got dropped, not by a big shot either (I honestly had to watch the replay a couple of times to see the punch that grazed him) and TBH I kinda blame the weight cut. TJ walks in there looking like a Halloween decoration and gets dropped by a shot like that? There's no medical reason to think having your brain dried of it's fat & water wouldn't make one more susceptible to concussion. There are biological realities that weight cutting has on a fighter's ability to absorb damage that it is just unreasonable to deny. That said TJ's attitude towards the loss is an unhealthy one that won't help him improve. I mean DJ was humble in defeat after getting robbed and TJ was having a Joanna moment after getting Bambi legged...
4stronaut I wasn't saying it wasn't, just not as bad of a stoppage as TJ thinks it was (which I'm not blaming him for). All I'm saying is that early although it might have been, I wasn't surprised the ref pulled Henry off of him.
have you ever watched a 125 fight?? Barely anyone gets knocked out or seriously hurt in that division. Khabib pounded Conor for 2 rounds straight on the ground in a higher weight class and a stoppage wasnt even in the conversation. You stop a fight when a fighter stops protecting himself, not when he gets hit 4 times with shots that barely have any impact. This is fighting, not soccer my dude.
Feet Cap that only furthers the argument that it was a good stoppage, he is a PROFESSIONAL FIGHTER, getting pushed should at the most cause a rebalance, not getting thrown to the ground like a 20 lb baby. Even from the disadvantageous position he was in the, maximum effect it should have had would be either a back on the cage or a roll off his back onto his feet. The only reason i wish it would have gone on longer was so that Cejudo would have knocked the shit, snot, and EPO out of TJ and put him out so hard theyd give him another year on his ban for being a humiliation to the UFC.
Wtf joe I'm disappointed. Funny how u say it was universally agreed that it was an early stoppage then ur comment section is almost universal in agreeing that it was a fair stoppage T_T good try tho we ain't that dumb we saw what happened

kalikalla43 Cejudo head kicked him which caused the 1st knockdown, it wasn’t flush but it was just enough to rock TJ. Also do you really think a wrestler like TJ can so easily be pushed down like that? After Cejudo kicked him he did what they thought us in boxing to do when you’re rocked he started bouncing around trying to get back his balance. He tried a sloppy combo (which would’ve worked if he wasn’t rocked) which Cejudo counters by pushing him down. Now do you understand why they’re counting the first one as a knockdown?
Yeah let's have a guy that got knocked out in 32 seconds on the podcast over a guy who's coming off 2 wins vs 2 great fighters. To say he was robbed id's ridiculous. He got dropped 3 times in 30 seconds
mobbin williams joe has a vested interest, remember when joe was going to sponsor team alpha male with his supplement company until tj left for alphafarm or whatever it was.
I always remember in the post fight press conference all dude could say was “I was on a single leg !!” But when you look back on the fight it was the refs leg lol
Knocked down 3 times and was getting pummeled, 18 strikes to 1. You can’t fault the ref for you putting yourself in a position in which you looked like you were in danger. Dana gave Dillashaw this unearned Superfight he’s been begging for since he won the title and he got embarrassed.
Kinda feel sorry for TJ. Delusional as hell. Got officially dropped twice(not including the push) and got hit 17+ times in a row. If those shots didn't play a role in his ability to escape then he could've easily escaped or at least defended himself. But attempts(and fails) with a single leg. Only 30 seconds from beginning to end TJ was dominated. If the fight happens again but at 135 I see TJ putting more of an effort but ending up to a similar fate(TKO) from Cejudo again.
I agree. Its 40 seconds into round 1 of a championship fight at flyweight. Champion vs. Champion. U can let it go a bit. It not like these guys are causing heavyweight type damage in one punch
Dana: "Joe, I need you to hype up a rematch between Dillashaw and Cejudo on your show." Joe: "SLURP, SLURP- yes sir -SLURP, SLURP." Dana: "Now give it back to TJ, he's doing a better job."

It also doesn’t help TJ’s case that every time he gets beaten, he convinces himself he didn’t lose and that he was screwed over.🤷🏻♂️
Josh Langston it’s cause he knows he’s shit.
Actually the fact that it's a championship fight isnt a non-sequitur. Its sort of an unwritten rule that they let championship fights go a little longer. Used to be that way, anyway. I mean, look at the beating Carwin put on Lesnar, with this stoppage Carwin would have been champ
TheAngryPelican
Nah. If a ref views it that way they shouldn’t be in there. Every fight is supposed to be reffed the same.

That said TJ got dropped, not by a big shot either (I honestly had to watch the replay a couple of times to see the punch that grazed him) and TBH I kinda blame the weight cut. kalikalla43 Ur a filthy casual he got dropped 3 times all you TJ fans are acting like crybaby bitches it was a good stoppage The Mexican cut the head off that 🐍
kalikalla43 Cejudo head kicked him which caused the 1st knockdown, it wasn’t flush but it was just enough to rock TJ.
Alfredo Lopez 100% agree
@@FredLo44 You must be blind and stupid. Oh wait....youre mexican. LOL
Yeah let's have a guy that got knocked out in 32 seconds on the podcast over a guy who's coming off 2 wins vs 2 great fighters. To say he was robbed id's ridiculous. He got dropped 3 times in 30 seconds
Cejudo was on the podcast recently dipshit. And rogan was bad mouthing Tj when Cody's coaches were on the podcast.
mobbin williams nobody likes Henry even Dana hates him duh
@@devexifies248 yes or no. Would they have more to talk about after knocking tj out in 32 seconds?
Cejudo is terrible. Go rewatch the podcast with him and honestly tell yourself "it was good" bro, it was trash.
mobbin williams joe has a vested interest, remember when joe was going to sponsor team alpha male with his supplement company until tj left for alphafarm or whatever it was.
I always remember in the post fight press conference all dude could say was “I was on a single leg !!” But when you look back on the fight it was the refs leg lol
Yeah he held a single for like 3 seconds against Henry acting like he could get a single against a Olympic gold medalist
Tj needs another slice of humble pie.
@Sitthichai Moraes will put tj to sleep
He got completely dawg'd by cejudo no if's or buts about it take your L like a Man
“He was jumping around, looking for a reason to stop the fight”... Sounds like what a ref’s supposed to do Lmaoo
Joe “my nipples are so gosh darn hard” Rogan 🤙🏼
imo by the book, it's a good stoppage - but in terms of the event, the ref should have given it a chance
Nothing in the rule books say you're supposed to take into account whether it's a big fight or not.
@@popetaytv no it doesn't. Just make sure the fight is over, thats all
I agree. Its 40 seconds into round 1 of a championship fight at flyweight. Champion vs. Champion. U can let it go a bit. It not like these guys are causing heavyweight type damage in one punch
@@fvgc454ss which is why its even more alarming that TJ dropped so early and multiple times.
Dana: "Joe, I need you to hype up a rematch between Dillashaw and Cejudo on your show."
Joe: "SLURP, SLURP- yes sir -SLURP, SLURP."
Dana: "Now give it back to TJ, he's doing a better job."
he definitely could have damaged Cejudos hands some more with his head
Joe has become pathetic. Unless he can bully the guest he agrees with them and flip flops like it's going out of style.
James Quinn and here you are still watching
@@JonnySublime Your comment has zero logic behind it. There's often good guest on the podcast. I watch for the guest and to learn new things. I'm not going to stop watching because the host can't maintain a stance on a view.
Perfectly said
James Quinn right, you watch pathetic people so you can say how pathetic they are, but I make no sense.
@@jamesquinn5281 so he's like any show that have people on for interviews. What's the issue?
I thought it was a good stoppage... he got dropped repeatedly
So did Frankie Edgar, but he came back twice to win. Sorry, you're wrong.
Shit I wish they would have let Henry pound on him for another 2 minutes but in reality the ref saved his life Henry would have pounded on him and poured all his stamina into it Dillashaw would have died trying to survive
Who does Dillashaw think he is Frankie Edgar?
" I couldnt get tired" " inalmost felt too good" hahahahaha
