  • Here's my first driving video of my Protonic Blue 94Ah BMW i3 with range extender. General driving overview, performance away from the lights against other cars, reversing, and also a bit of motorway driving too.

    Thanks for doing these videos. We're considering getting an i3 and these have been really helpful. Keep it up!

    Nice review. I'm looking forward to my i3 Bev delivery in the next couple of weeks. Test driving it was a revelation and this is a petrol / diesel head saying this. More fun to drive generally than the M3 (just because you have that instant power) andmore logical to boot. Excellent vehicle and will go down in history like previous BMW icons.

    You are a Lucky man not only you have a new i3 but you have two of them nice I'm not jealous at all I'm happy for you some day I will buy one for sure I'm like you I'm a petrol head I also work on cars for a living but I see the advantage of electric drive and I too love the high tech elements in this car carbon reinforced plastic, aluminum chassis, polymer body panels etc I have watched on U tube videos of the build processes of the car and in the US there is a company that dissected the car for evaluation purposes the video is on Autoline after hours the company that did the evaluation is Munro

      What I meant was that if I decided to sell my first car I would’ve got this. I really was dumb back then

    I didn't know you could download and install a time/date/weather and/or Spotify app to the BMW screen in the middle of the dash. I wonder I to do that.

    Good video. How did the i3 hold up in the recent snow we had in terms of driving and cold weather affecting the battery range?

  • @staffordshireusedcarmotorcompa

    Hi, how did you get the other info on the large screen. i.e weather etc.. ?.Regards, Paul.

    Very nice video, just one tip: don't speak in plural all the time when it's just you in the car. "we'll take our foot of the brakepedal"...

  • @chitpaul

    On break regen how many miles did you extend the range by.. ie. If you drive ten miles and the range statue start was X what was the range when you stopped.. just wandering.as I'm thinking of getting a used i3 to drive into London as a daily driver.

      Darren Juniper It's a very relaxing car to drive. You don't get wound up in traffic. It's ok on the motorway. I prefer driving it to my X5.

    The range extender weighs in at 120 kg. Most people never really seem to use it. So it’s pretty useless. Get over your range fears and get the new BEV instead.

    • @marklola12
      @marklola12 Před 5 lety

      That's all well and good if you have the july 2016 model and onwards with the longer battery life lol but the early 2016 and before really does need the range extender unless you literally only drive 20-30 miles a day and want to charge it every day or every 2nd day
