Amid escalating global tensions and humanitarian crises, the imperative for effective diplomacy has never been more pressing - and there are few with more experience as a diplomat and mediator than Ambassador Lakhdar Brahimi. From his early days as an Algerian freedom fighter to his decades of service as a U.N. and Arab League diplomat, Ambassador Brahimi has navigated some of the world’s most complex conflicts and exemplified the power of diplomacy in shaping our shared future.
On May 21, USIP hosted a conversation with Ambassador Brahimi that explored his remarkable diplomatic career, the complexities of modern conflict resolution, and his thoughts on how nations can work together to build a more peaceful and prosperous world.

This is what diplomacy looks like.he travelled the word to make peace and he travelled through time to gain wisdom
An FLN guy. Laughing my head off 🤣 😂 😆😂😂
But he failed to bring peace to his own country in 1990s civil war because he stood up against the will of his people
@@kberihi i don't think that he was involved in what happened in the 90s but as Algerians we have this bed habit of smearing our heroes
@@amel4923 Sorry he was and was not a hero.
He's an excellent diplomat. Thanks to him for all his efforts for peace and justice in the world.
Such as....? 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
كما قالي واحد من المشرق… المكان اللي يمرء منه يترك دمار 😬😬😬
The way this just man started to talk about palestine an he did it with passion, already know how just free palestine is
A great man
Mr. Brahimi indeed did join a noble cause in 1956, to fight for the liberation of Algerians. But, he also joined and made the decision to work with the dictatorship of Algeria since 1962. So, I would say he fought for himself to have a well awarded career. The Algerian people are well aware of who were with people, and who were against them for decades.
He was flnist to the core. Me, me me... take, take and take. Bully bully and bully......
Not to omit he was a minister of foreign affairs 91-93 playing key role covering up the not only the Algerian military coup that led to the bloodiest decade & massacres of over 250,000 civilians and tens of thousands missing to-date, unfortunately he in the end achieved nothing but serve western interests. Those facts are sadly kept secret
I AM NOT BIG SUPPORTER OF HIM
HE WAS PICKED BCZ HE'S DONE WHAT'S EVER WESTERNERS WANT HIM TO DO .
KISSING UP TO WESTERNERS 😅😂😢
💩💯
It’s been a while since the last time you checked on someone’s health! And now you confess that yours is not as good. How much did you get paid to check on Bouteflika’s health? 😂
Brahim was a great diplomat and an international missionair. Just a shame that he sided with the military government of algeria who quashed the peoples uprising against the oppressive regime!
He stood up against ISIS.. and you would have loved to see chaos in Algeria lol..long live Algeria and down with its enemies
For us algerians this guy he's a big traitor
