The lights of China | King's Cross railway station

The video that I recorded during the Chinese New Year, where I performed the Chinese vocal work "The lights of China" with pianist Yan Chen at King's Cross railway station, holds a special significance in my artistic journey as a reminder of the power of music to connect people across cultures and bring joy to unexpected places. Chinese New Year is a time for reunion. Similarly, at King's Cross railway station, people come and go for their own reunions, making it a particularly meaningful location and time to perform Chinese music in a foreign country.
By uploading this video to social media platforms, I aimed to spread Chinese music culture and allow Chinese students to hear the music of their hometown at that special time, thus fulfilling our original intention. This experience also taught me how to be creative and adaptable in an unconventional setting as a performer.
