Si bien aún tengo aquella guitarra he olvidado todo y mis dedos no me podrán ayudar.
That's easy for YOU to say. LOL But I have a feeling I agree.
I can't understand why anybody would give her a thumbs down she's talented and shes worked diligently to hone her skill and direction, she keeps doing what she loves doing you should applaud her not Boo her, The haters can never give credit when credit is due.
Do not listen to those who put you down your a talented and beautifu!!l The rest of us will subscribe and keep listening and enjoying your inspirational playing
' your a talented and beautifu!!l' this sort of horny dribble is why a lot times people like her are taken less seriously.
When a guitar starts to speak to me, I then know this is a masterpiece. Bravo, miss.
When a listening to a guitar gives me anxiety I know it's a good piece lol
@@metafisicacibernetica very well said. I agree with you completely!!!
@@snail_butt0594 😉
whena guitar starts to spek to me i think i might be on drugs.
The whole soul of Spain is in this immortal melody! Greetings from Brazil to the great Spanish people!
She doesn't just play it, she feels it. Masterful dedication reveals something beyond the senses, it's transformative, inspiring.
Ella parece estar meditando mientras ejecuta. Dios habla , ella escucha y el público aplaude.
I can't believe it took 4 years for youtube to recommend this to me...absolutely exquisite!
4 years man... 4 years for me too. I'm astonished and awed.
Dito!
I'm with you on this... Why am I only finding out about this talent now.
Same, and it’s strange...
Yes, 'same for me
Her father was there recording and I was there in spirit. Beautiful.
Translation of Tito Livio Catalano's comment as it was so touching and inspiring. The beauty and power of music to transcend language is always miraculous.
He was the only son of a poor family. With an immense effort, my maternal grandmother bought me a guitar. My parents wanted me to learn to play an instrument. Finally, I barely made it. I am now a 74-year-old man. In those memories of my childhood, I played the instrument every time I felt very sad. Although I still have that guitar, I have forgotten everything, and my fingers will not be able to help me. Every time I have those weak feelings, typical of my age, of memories and past things, I start thinking about moments that are gone. those that then affected me enormously. However, it is this that I write a gross error... Life is nothing more than this, I have seen leave many people that I adored. I would like to accompany myself on the guitar... Although I think it's late for that. I thank those who have left a few seconds of their lives to read these words.
Thank you for giving a life to these words....
for almost 5 years ive been waiting for an upload and performance that hasn't been ruined by some guy coughing lol.
I heard that "coughing" recording/performance too (smile)
There was a recording of Segovia performing it without the cougher.
Ana Vidović's performance, hahaha!
Don't think he would have coughed in North Korea.
@@tecno1297 oh god i LOVE ana...her hands,her eyes,,just.....wow
As a guitarist, I always LOVE to watch the facial expressions of other guitarists when they play something difficult, or simply inspiring. Loved her tiny expressions of joy and difficulty.
She shows it all in her expressions! She shows effort, energy, enjoyment and things I cannot find words for! The whole piece is priceless.
You will LOVE this then 💜🎶💜

Spanish guitar is not easy to play.
@@JACSEL1 Hey thanks captain Obviously necrotroll.
This performance never fails to leave with a feeling of serenity.
Thank you!!☺️
The moment she began to play, my heart quickened. Wow.
This is the best rendition of this song that I've heard. The strokes are clean and perfectly timed, there's no muddling from string buzz or nail buzz, and the recording quality is amazing. Alexandra Whittingham has become my favorite classical guitarist. I can only hope to achieve a small amount of her competency at classical guitar.
You probably haven't heard my homie, then. :) Sound quality is not so good, but def. worth listening!

@@23101979T Ha, I was listening to Ana Vidovic when I read your reply. She's amazing, and she has amazing control of tremolo dynamics esp. in Recuerdos de la Alhambra by Francisco Tárrega.
Absolute virtuoso performance but there's a gap after each downward strike of the chord which I don't hear with the other virtuosos. Example at 5:05
I'm in love!!!!! In love with beauty. I was looking for Francisco Tárrega. I was raised by a man who loved his arabian, doric modes on a guitar. That changed my life as a musician. And I always come back to it. And now I've found her.
What a vision! And such a talent! She plays with a native, iberic soul. From Spain or Portugal. What amazing young lady...💚🙋♂️
Every cell in my body was dancing to the flow of colorful raindrops that your fingers resurrected from age old trees, my heart was singing along effortlessly to the vibrations of the sunshine that peirced through the emptiness of time & I will never be the same. Gracias 🙏♥️
This is the best performance of this song I have ever heard.
I've heard many renditions of this, live and recorded, in the USA and Spain, where I lived for many years. This is the best. It reminds me greatly of Rey de la Torre's 1957 recorded version, which I inherited. Magnificent.
If you like this, listen also to the version of Ida Presti (which she recorded at the age of 13 years).
John Williams.
@@neiloshodges2816 Nothing best than the John Whilliams one (just my point of view). Here I am very disappointed with the rythme : sure you can do whatever you want in the second part, but in the main part there is a beat to respect... here I hear some chords breaking the arpeggio flow, I don't understand the reason why slowing down...
Art on highest level. Thank you, Alexandra!
Asturias is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful songs of all time. When played with such technique and passion, by such a beautiful girl, then it feels like a divine encounter. I loved this video!
Its a piece* not a song 🦖 hehe
It's kinda flabbergasting to me that it's written for piano, but sounds so right on classical guitar. I really only know it as a guitar piece and nothing else will ever do.
Woman. Not girl.
then check cover of Marcin Patrzalek ! is 1000x better and outstanding technics!
My favourite guitar piece, wonderfully played. Brought tears to my eyes.
Classical guitar is really an underrated instrument. It hits hard..❤
An angel, a guitar and a masterpiece.
Absolutely one of the best classical guitarist's I have ever heard !!!!
I think I saw this video about 10 times, and probably I will se it more 100 times... Asturias is being very well played by ms. Alexandra, as others classical music interpreted by her.
One of my favorite pieces of Albeniz. So beautifully performed. Thank you so much!
Pacifying and mesmerising this girl is up there with the greats. I enjoyed every moment
Querida Alexandra.
The sound of that guitar is fantastic the surroundings make it sound perfect and Alexandra is just a gift sit back and enjoy world !
Still remains my most favourite rendition of Asturias.
I just thought I could play this wonderful piece on an acceptable level, but you thaught me how far away I am from perfection. Great interpretation!
You are leaving me SPEECHLESS!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is 1 of the most beautiful pieces ever, Very very nice playing!
All I can say is.......W-O-W.!!
She is so talented that her beautiful axe skills has left me a stunned, amazed, and speechless. ...and maybe in love!
When i grow up i hope i will be able to play half as good as her lol
YES. Y.E.S. The placement and tone of each note was amazing. The speed and accuracy contrasted with such smoothness and ease in the technique... Damn...
Yes,UNBELIEVABLE, Walter B.Memphis 🎸👍💥
Ana Vidovic's rendition feels like it flows smoother. Smoother transitions.
@@SunnyD420 Yes it seems you're more comparing blondes and brunettes rather than musicians.
@@ThePaulv12 I'm not comparing how their technique looks, I'm comparing how their technique sounds, arguably the most important aspect of playing
@@SunnyD420 I totally agree. This is a decent rendition but is not on the same level as Ana for the very reason you stated.
The beauty of the music, the poise of the beauty, and later the willingness to show in detail her methods developed over her career altogether are breath taking!!!
I've been listening to this piece nonstop for a week now as I learn it, and this is by far my favorite recording. You made the slower sections feel just as important as the rest, and really made me fall in love with it on a new level. This is wonderful
A very impressive and brilliant performance.
Luigi Pati I totally agree with you
Lindissimo...bravo⚘❤
I'm not sure what to say... Amazing isn't enough, and even marvellous doesn't catch it fully!
One of the best interpretations I’ve ever heard of Asturias, beautifully played with stunning tone colour throughout. Great to hear a guitarist play this piece so sensitively, thanks Alexandra.
I've watched this video like 30 times. She plays it beautifully.
How can anyone give a thumbs down?
She plays beautifully, the setting's beautiful, and she's beautiful.
Totally Agree, She is AWESOME, and very NICE LOOKING, and that accent Wow!
Black Legend , extreme nacionalist or worts
Played two tunes at once - possibly 3 ! Contravening company rules !!
Probably because she's English....
Its because the piece is meant to be filled with a raging cough.
Fantastic! Played so well that I was transported to Asturias for the entire piece, the finger work is so good and the physical expression of the guitarist matches the emotions of the song. Very beautiful!
...yet this has nothing to do with Asturian music or peoples. :) Just a weird name. (From Asturias, myself)
@@victorzurdo6516 Hahaha, I was going to make the same comment.
This music has nothing to do with Asturias. I am Spaniard, Asturias is a rainy region on the North of Spain. The landscape is sea cliffs and green mountains. Bagpipes are typical in Asturias.
I do not know who put that name to this piece of music, but he had never been to Asturias.
Literally mesmerising!! A most incredible performance.
I feel like I am learning a lot about guitar by watching this, especially those strumming and picking patterns. Beautiful.
Such finess , such beauty such drama and emotion, I love this classical spanish aria. And can listen over and over. What magical strokes Alexandra plays. More of this please.
@ulh pilot thanks for the correction.
One of the very best recordings of anything I've ever heard! All elements of the music-making process are in exceptional balance. Congrats!
Damn, an angel from heaven! Breathtaking.
The music is beyond sublime, it’s transcendent. As if the composer tapped into a dimension rarely understood. It evokes a sense of place, time and emotion one can’t quite put into words. How a person can dig so deep into the creative mind to compose a masterpiece like this is beyond my comprehension. Bravo! I have listened to this many times since I discovered it.
There is something about a beautiful girl playing the guitar brilliantly that gets my heart racing. Perfecto
Mine too, she's good, she's 🔥 too 😋 😂
Best dynamics i think i ever heard. And thank you for not including the ending. Fade on the fundamental is always best. Wow and wow. Feel grace elegance.
This piece is meant to sound multi-dimensional infused with passion and fire....you performed amazingly. If only Isaac Albeniz can listen to his work reincarnated. Bravo.
What a lovely thing to say.
if this was my ringtone, i'd never pick up any calls
can you even play classic guitar? if not shut up
@@jolandahuman3853 i do play the classical guitar, i find it more efficient that talking to barbie dolls and filming and uploading myself doing so..
Jolanda Human I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure the commenter was paying her a compliment. In other words, if this was a ringtone, they wouldn’t answer the phone because they would want to keep listening to it.

So beautiful !
Wow, I love!
Acoustic power metal!!!! ✊
PUXE ASTURIES!!!!!
Asturia's always got me right in the heart.
Prettiest classical guitarist out there . Beautiful intimacy with the fretboard too .❤️🇬🇧
Bravo!!!!
Jaw dropping , insane , don't find words , so beautiful ! Great job !

Alexandra, you are among a force of guitarists who are great! Keep at it and God bless you!
TogaMan GuitarViols …
Alexandra Whittingham, however English she may be, is a Spanish purebred guitarist. Impeccable in everything. Perfect, with genius and figure. I did not know her, but I love it. It has nerve!
I am glad for these recordings done in intimate chapels taking advantage of the magnificent acoustics of those venues.
That's true, but in this case, as far as I can see, she's playing outside!!
I love both the piece and the wonderful player.
It is a great interpretation of Alexandra for this magnificent Musical Work of Albeniz ..... congratulations ...
Surpreendente movimento musical, dedilhar despontado, magnífico Alexandra Whittingham. Bravus!
I have watched this several times and this time I’ve got the headphones on,the iPad turned face down ( not to be distracted by her beauty ) and it’s even better. Fabulous!
Maravilha de música com uma execução perfeita! 👍👏♥️🇧🇷
Alexandra, you express intensity and passion in your performance; every note is important to you, each harmonic rings, each rasgueado resounding clear. Such a beautiful historic venue for such a demanding iconic composition. Albeniz and Segovia would be proud of you😇🤗🤗
! Trémolo con dos dedos!
Absolutely stunning performance! Beautiful clarity and control. One of the finest Iv heard of this iconic piece.🙏🔥
Love the location along with your magnificent playing, Alexandra. It’s like you take us to another era in time. Magical. 💕💕💕
Surreal. I'm in love with this song.
Simply.... The beauty and THE BEAST!!!!!!!! congratulations... You are awesome!!!! Thanks a lot
What a talent!!!!! You are a Dream come true!!!!!! Congrats
They say "there is nowt as wierd as folk". I'm begining to c y.
Now, 2 years later and it's still world class. People work, some enrich themselves, some enrich the world. Thank you.
One of the most beautifully composed songs..exhibited with grace and talent.
the beauty and refinement of a British women, the talent of a true musician and the soul (certainly musically) soul and passion of a Spaniard.
Unfortunately, passion is the only thing missing. Certainly, she has some " duende " but yet lacks a bit of " mala leche " sort of thing coming from inside. But I think she will. Yes, she can. Needs some spanish crazy nights to get on the mood
Beautifully played Alexandra, much enjoyed... Thumbs up...
SHE IS AN ANGEL 😇🙏💚
I know nothing of art but for me this is
The music, the setting, the player - breathtaking.
I loooove the decelaranto, so reminiscent of the original piano piece.
Excellent performance! Thank you
Uma canção dedilhada com amor perfeito! Bravo!!!
Mahalo nui Loa for the hours you have spent to enable you to present this piece to us. This is one of my two all time favorite guitar compositions. IF I had to choose a composer Isaac Albeniz would be my choice, his compositions bring out the ultimate voice in the guitar Aloha
I understood that the piece was written originally for the piano. Hard to believe.
@@lynnrivera224 yes is a piece from the “Suite Iberia” writed originally for piano
Wonderful playing of this classic.
I find myself coming back to this video time and time again. Of course, I love this piece but, also to admire your extraordinary emotional and technical command of your classical guitar. You have some serious chops. Bravo! That was magnificent.
Stunning location. ... makes me wish I was back in Europe this summer
I love this piece of music especially when it's played so well good job
ahhhhh, perfecto, hermoso, inmortal; una interpretación perfecta Alexandra, una interpretación real!
Concordo plenamente. Hermosissima/o. Perfeito maravilhoso. Edificador. Extasiado estou !!!! Felicidades.
Spain… she can heal our souls, by
playing
Enchanted, my lady. First time hearing it-you, and I will never forget..
Blessed strings...
Your hard work paid off, you have made this piece come back to life with vitality and freshness which it has been lacking for ages. After reading your bio, I'm not surprised. This piece is hard to play, but it takes a master to extract its full potential which you did with ease. Power sound and meticulous playing. Congratulations. Wish you all the best.
Magnificent, very relaxing after a day of work. Lifting me up.
