Don't know about Plant BUT my top five are Brad Delp of Boston, Mickey Thomas, who still sounds great live. Hasn't lost his touch at all. Steve Perry of Journey, Meat Loaf and Freddie Mercury of Queen who all sounded great live for the most part (everyone has a bad or off day) just like the studio version in there prime. I heard that sadly Meat Loaf pretty much all but lost his voice. I hope it ain't true but crap happens. I read that he didn't sing w/ any techniques which help to preserve the voice as well as sing good. He just straight sang. RIP Brad and Freddie.

I met Mickey Thomas at a Club where they were suppose to play in San Antonio Texas. When i got to the club there was nobody there. I went up to the ticket booth and asked them if Starship was playing here tonite. They said yes. I bought 2 freakin tickets. They may have been the only tickets they sold. So me and my wife were waiting outside of the club by ourselves. Then all of a sudden a limo pulls up and we are thinking thats got to be Starship. Sure enough some guy gets out and talks to the people at the club, and was in there for about 20 mins or so. So me and my wife approached the limo and tapped on the back door. The door opens and its Mickey Thomas. He says are you guys here for the show. we said yes, but we dont know what happened to the people. He said it dont look good. So we introduced ourselves. He was happy to talk with us for a few minutes. I asked if he would autograph a CD cover for me, he said sure i ran to my car and got my CD and he autographed it. He shook our hands, and told us they were going to play in Austin the next day, so we went and got our money back at the booth, and went to Austin the next night. The show was great.

Gracie in the background at 0:35 singing along gives the illusion that she's watching her best friend in the whole world sing their song and it's the happiest moment of her life.

Shows a little humility on Grace's part. The woman is a legend herself yet she knows she's in the presence of greatness.

They sounded great back then, especially with Dunbar on drums! My brother saw them live back in the summer of 1981 during that tour and they were the Headlining act but the opening band (.38 special), according to my brother, blew them out, and the crowd was booing JS at one point! 😮
