    Thank you for the video! I find this really helpful. My Aqualung got flooded this week and I'm really considering buying the latest Garmin. But the price is twice as high as a diving computer :D

      I am betting you were diving an i550 Aqualung, which is certainly not a bad starter computer. The Garmin is certainly a major upgrade from there and will be a nice daily wear watch and will handle any diving situations that you may encounter with a cadre of additional features and controls. Just wait until your try out the GPS :)

      I wish Garmin made a person size computer. I like my teric for recreational or dive mastering for classes but starting tech I want a large screen with information like you mentioned in the video. Garmin is a great everyday watch that is also a dive computer. The teric is a dive computer that has a watch function.

    • @TeachMeToDive
      @TeachMeToDive  Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@patrickmoore2856 If I had to choose between the Teric and the Garmin, I would definitly choose the Garmin. I like it functionality much better for sure. BUT, for tech diving... Perdix all day long. So much more data on the main screen and so much easier to see.!

      Love how in-depth this video is. I still use an AI Galileo Luna but also have an Ultra 2 as my backup. Somebody just has to point out.... the real name is NOT "iWatch." Thats what my wife calls it.

      @TeachMeToDive  Před 9 měsíci

      LOL, we got schoool on the name a few times as well, thus we changed it in the titles :) BUT, it will forever be the iWatch, iPad, and iPhone to me :) lol Thank you for your comment :) @@matthewedmonds8753

    "Great video. I have a question: Is it worth looking into the Apeks DSX diving computer?"

    • @TeachMeToDive
      @TeachMeToDive  Před 6 měsíci +2

      Yes, it is a solid computer when you look at the features that are designed to be a dive computer. For Sidemount, it is one of the two computers I would highly consider as well. It has strong technical ability and is fairly simple to use as well.

    to me the only way i would pick the garmin is if i planned on doing a lot of remote dives and i would use it in conjuction with the inreach mini 2

    • @TeachMeToDive
      @TeachMeToDive  Před 8 měsíci +3

      We can tell you, that with 1800 dives and 3 1/2 years diving it, it is a solid tech computer for everything but sidemount. It works really well and is pretty simple.
      We do love our Perdix as well, but head to head against a Teric, we'd take the Garmin any day of the week

    Tech Deco diver ... have Shearwater perdix2 ( begrudgingly ) and a mk2 garmin.. [will be getting a mk3] -- thank you for the NIX of the ultra2 ... good idea just need the watch phone and put all dive ops on a waterproof tablet w wifi hookup --- ( garmin approach to saturation and shearwater hard numbers )

      I was wondering that too lol…I assume he meant Apple Watch Ultra. I would never trust it with my life, that’s for sure. Maybe dives that don’t require decompression but that’s it…if I even did diving lol.

  • @ShockerTopper
    @ShockerTopper Před 4 měsíci +1

    I love my Apple Watch Ultra but I’d never go diving with it, even if I did do diving. Knowing that your life is on the line, I could not trust my life to a $800 product. However I would never go diving in the first place haha…I almost died surfing when I was 19 and have not surfed since. I tore my calf after being hit by two back to back 8 foot face waves…I didn’t have time I recover from the first one before the second one hit me and all I remember is seeing the sky and the sand like I was in a washing machine: I’m shocked I didn’t die honestly. After the second wave hit me, the board hit a sandbar and just knocked the wind out of me with the other end as it hit me in the gut. That was 20 years ago now and I still won’t go past my thighs in the water. Between that and destroying my ankles in motorcycle accidents, nothing in California was worth staying around.
