I was just about to comment along similar lines. The Andertons guys really struggled to dial it in. It sounded super thin compared to the amp that they were trying to match.
Thank you. It was actually VERY easy to make it sound good. It sounded good through everything. I think Andertons goes out of their way to make everything sound middle ground. I DO think it give a different perspective to what I do. I *TRY* to push to see how good it can sound, but if I was plugging the pedal into a Line6 Spider and practicing at home, it's a bit of a different game. The Andertons demos have a useful lowest common denominator kinda thing (IMHO). When something they show sound amazing, I think it really MUST be AMAZING!!!
Bro, that was some seriously gnarly playing, you get such a glorious focused chunk on the low strings and your lead was mainstream album worthy. Dig it brother!
@@BigHairyGuitars how about releasing some of your demo daw stems So i can practice on sounding half is good as your Sir. Seems Covid lockdown uped your game....lol
My friend has this amp. It is my dream amp! I own a Triple Rectifier 2 Channel from the 90s, and a JCM2000, but I really want to add an SLO 100 to my collection!!🤘
The driver matters a lot, but there’s a lot to like here and hopefully it could translate to even my hands. The sparkle that people don’t often focus on in the SLO’s tone is there, which I don’t really hear in most alleged SLO-inspired pedals. And the liquid lead thing is there-so many solid state pedals will do crunch and chug, but there were also bits there of what makes the Sinvertek N5+ so special. So doing all of this has my attention.
It's more compressed than the N5+, but the N5+ leans closer to the firmness of the SLO100 head. The head is still bigger, and less compressed, and more open and broad than any pedal can simulate. There's a reason that the SLO100 is so legendary 🤘. Still... the pedal is great!
It does, and it doesn't. The SLO is really it's own thing. Which amp would I plug the pedal into??? Into a JCM800 sounded AWESOME, but it didn't have the particular firm hi-fi bigness that the SLO100 has. The 20w Friedman sounded great, but it was more squishy than the SLO100. Direct to a power amp, the pedal sound kinda thin. Imagine this: draw a big circle...THAT is the SLO100. Then draw another circle inside that circle...THAT is the SLO Pedal. It's the same, but not quite the same. BUT... it does sound great, and sometimes the SLO100 is TOO big, and too "look at me". The SLO Pedal give that Soldano vibe, but can also sit back into the mix in a good way, more than the head. The head always wants to be the center of attention sonically.
Your chops are progressing so fast its mindblowing. Well done! The knowledge you bring to bare on the topic/item have always been good but too are expanding quickly. You become one of top demo cats on here. Well done! But now the bad part,I need one of these Soldano boxes and its going bust my budget again! Well done!
Excellent video Sir! I love your demos because we must be the same age and had the same record collection in the 80s. 😂 Mine arrives Thursday. I'm psyched!
My question is, have you ever come across an amp, pedal or guitar that you can't make sound good? Cause literally everything you demo on this channel you manage to make sound amazing, and your amazing song writing ability and guitar playing doesn't hurt either. I'd love to see you demo a super cheap guitar into an amp everyone hates, and I bet you could make it sound like it was made for a rock god.
I've been thinking about it. Wow, you convinced me. Better than Pete Thorn's demo (and Pete is my go-to guy for demos-always great but...not this time). That first two minute song was fantastic. It really shows off how versatile that pedal really is (as is the $4k SLO is so I am told). Of course, great playing always helps. Excellent job on this.
Look man I've been watching you for years now and I gotta say it. You're robbing us viewers by not making an album I need an album of you, your riffs are killer I mean that!
Honestly if I someone told me this was a Blues Saraceno track, I would be convinced. Fantastic playing and such a nice chewy tone. Also, really enjoyed the review part of the video. Good stuff!
Thank you! I've had that #3 riff in my head for months and couldn't figure out where it was from! Now I know it's from Bad Love, so I can sleep well again.
Showed up here for the sarcastic, self-deprecating subtitled commentary, and whoa - a cool guitar pedal and awesome chops (again)! Thanks, Michael. You're never un-fun. No matter what your kids say. :)
Just borrowed this pedal from a buddy and it's pretty awesome. Has those upper harmonics that you get from the higher gain marshalls. Very cool and it sounds good through everything I've tried it (Iridium, Marshall Origin, Mesa Recto clean channel). Presence knob is a difference maker.
Always wanted to pair my Friedman jj jr with a soldano 30 but don’t have the cash for it….what I do have is a deluxe reverb combo that probably would pair with this pedal great!
Great review. Your Kemper profile seems very close to this pedal. And speaking of The King… here’s an official request for profiles dedicated to him! There are excellent ones out there but I’m sure you could smash it. EVH forever.
When you dumped the mids at 9:10, that thing sounded heavy as fuck. I'm mostly a blues guy these days, but I could easily see doing some old Soundgarden with those mids scooped. The SLO really could do it all from overdriven blues to even modern high gain.
I like how you made it sound epic, and the Andertons channel made it sound like a MetalZone
only rabea/chapman there know how amps and high gain work.

Haha, yeah I saw the Anderson’s demo. They crucified the poor pedal! 😂
They just wanna sell it,Not show it for its full potential 🤷🏻
The Nuno is strong in this one. Excellent playing in the intro track.
Thanks. Yeah, I was feeling Extreme III on the riffing there. WWND (What Would Nuno Do)

Clapton’s “24 Nights” tone is still under-appreciated, as far as I’m concerned.
I second this!
It definitely has that signature SLO top end and saturation. Super cool!
That intro was freaking awesome. Love the Dan Huff guitar too.
Is nobody going the mention the dan huff signed tyler ? lol
Great,Dan huff is a great picker
:) I'm borrowing that from Tyler Guitars. Sadly, I have to give it back. BUT, I shot a whole video about it. Still editing.

Hands down the best demo of this pedal. When's the album coming out Michael??? You're awesome brother.
Another insane intro! You are on fire Michael!!!
Thanks bud!
Great playing Michael 👏
Thanks Tom
Another well-done video of a great-sounding pedal with great playing. Bravo!
Thanks Brent!
great demo. I first came here for the pedal demo and came back several times for the song at the intro. It has a very EXTREME feel to it !
That opening riff and tone knocked me out my seat.
Edit: I'd love to hear this pedal through some of your amps.

I picked one of these up a month ago and it was wholly worth it to me. Thanks for showing the settings!
Another killer tune, wow. This pedal sounds great.
Thanks Tony!
Sustain for days......and it goes to 11, It's one louder then the other pedals! You got a killer tone out of this pedal and the playing was top notch.

Soldano Super Lead Overdrive Pedal? Yes please!
Lead lines on the yellow Tyler sound & feel very Vai like from DLR Skyscraper era.
Outstanding sir!
Thanks! 🥳 I feel like it's the first time I really captured that feeling (Skyscraper) that I was going for.
Very Nuno inspired at the top demo, love it , fantastic vid and playing Michael !! 😎😎😎
