Ruslan is a superb talent and was one of the most exciting participants in the 2024 QE competition. Projection in big concertos can be on the more subdued side, in part due to the choice of instrument but also the courage to play closer to the fingerboard, and reminds me to some extent of Gidon Kremer (which is a good thing). Tone colours are exceptional and outbursts of intensity are well calibrated and feel authentic. The bowing technique reflects both French and Russian schools, allowing for a great sound palette and moments of real beauty, even if the right shoulder sometimes lifts excessively. A phantastic artist, with a great future.
This violinist is so underrated. He has an amazing depth in his performance and such a great intonation
