- Wyrd Sisters features three witches: Granny Weatherwax; Nanny Ogg, matriarch of a large tribe of Oggs and owner of the most evil cat in the world; and Magrat Garlick, the junior witch, who firmly believes in occult jewelry, covens, and bubbling cauldrons, much to the annoyance of the other two.
King Verence I of Lancre is murdered by his cousin, Duke Felmet, after his ambitious wife persuades him to do so. The King's crown and child are given by an escaping servant to the three witches. The witches hand the child to a troupe of travelling actors, and hide the crown in the props-box. They acknowledge that destiny will eventually take its course and that the child, Tomjon, will grow up to defeat Duke Felmet and take his rightful place as king.

I love Celia’s reading. And this story is great, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the book, I never thought of pronouncing Magrat’s name like that.
My group’s always said it like Mag-rat or Mag-Rit, never M’Grat
I love it
Celiac is the very best person to do this besides Julie Walters but they are both amazing women love terry pratchett best ever author
❤ this YOUR AMAZING 🥲
The witches are my FAVOURITE RIGHT DOWN TO TIFFANY 🥹❤️🧹✨
Thank you glad you enjoyed it
Thank you for posting this. Do you have Raising Steam by T. Pratchett also?
I do but doing the stories in order
I love Celia Imrie, but the audio quality of this book isn't as good as that of the first five books of the series--the ones you've re-uploaded. Guess I've gotten spoiled. Any chance you'll redo this one?
I will don’t worry
@@StoryTime1986. Thanks for replying! I appreciate your posting these books.
The end is missing.
It’s because there is a second part hence why I put part one in the title

I am happy for every single person who loves this, but I just can´t listen to this. It´s cutting my brain like razor. Truly sorry. Skipping to the next book.
It's impossible to listen to, I'm afraid to say so. Not your fault at all but granny Weatherwax would never ever call Nanny G-AyTha... that's a fact 😂
Celia Imrie is my favourite reader ❤
I agree. For me, I cannot bear female narrators especially for Pratchett books. Planar is superb.
can’t agree, I’ve been working through all the TP-audio books and this stands apart for its expressiveness. It’s a welcome break from Planar’s comedic drone.
I really like both Imrie and Planer as actors, but neither do justice to this.
I shall just have to find time to read my copy of the book again.
This just irritates me too much.
@@Story-Voracious66 - appreciate what you are saying. The voices in my head when I read it were very on point and that’s part of TPs magic. What I would really love is for Chris Barrie to do all of TP books. His impressions and ability to change his voice are bordering on spooky. He’s a savant when it comes to impressions and voices. Check out the red dwarf radio show recordings (better than life).
Ugh this reader is THE WORST
Terrible reading, I can't work out why Granny Weatherwax, a country Witch from Lancre would have an RP accent, completely different to the other two Witch's despite the fact that they're Neighbours in a tiny little 'mountainous' and distinctly Northern country. Nanny Ogg sounds like a deranged and simple minded Duchess instead of a woman who gets drunk, and sings songs like 'The Hedgehog can never be buggered at all' and makes up for her lack of formal education with a canny understanding of human nature, unstoppable 'Oggian' life force and the ability to send up Granny without Granny ever really noticing. Magrat is the most believable because at this stage in the series she is the least fleshed out character. Terry Pratchett is a far, far better writer than he was ever given credit for in life, I just hope that now he's gone he'll at least get a decent narrator for the Witch's series. Julie Walters would be ideal, at least she has a sense of humour.
