There is a masterfully improvised organ bridge before the last verse @ 3:20. The final verse @ 4:00 has a beautiful descant by Hancock.

Magnificent hymn, beautifully song.
This is from an amazingly wonderful recording called 'Evensong from St. Thomas,' which was recorded approximately in 1991 or 1992. It might still be available from St. Thomas. Simply the most glorious recording of this hymn ever made, without a doubt.
Actually, thinking about it a little more, I think it was 1993 or 1994. Peter (Stoltzfus) Berton was assistant organist when the CD was recorded.

I was a student at the College-Conservatory of Music at UC when Dr. Gerre was at Christ Church Cathedral.

Minorities are MUCH more likely to be practicing,loving Christians than are white people. God forgive you for such an unnecessary comment of division & diversion.
The organ is too strong in this recording. In the second verse, when the organ is quieter, one hears the voices clearly. Then back to the blasting organ.
