If I’m not mistaken, I believe they recorded this video separately from Selena, since it was during the height of the pandemic. They still did an awesome job of making it look like they’re having fun together
Yeah, that world-wide creepin' crudd really sucks. Nothing wrong with the song itself, it was fun! The ONLY way this MV could have been any better would be if all five ladies were in the same location to film, so they could all meet in person.
Otherwise, both sides of production did a fantastic job of ALMOST making us forget that they had to film separately. REALLY well done, matched up perfectly. :)

I have not seen anybody in the comments mention this yet so I will. Ariana Grande' had partial writing credits for this song; that could explain the rather cheeky, saucy double-entente of the lyrics. BUT, the ladies themselves also had to agree to sing and perform the song. I guess they were all okay with it and it turned out great!
This was also the first time Jisoo seemed comfortable singing her entire verse in English. She really improved her English in order to do this and she has kept improving ever since then, so we were SO PROUD of her! :)

Ice Cream is supposed to be kind of a fun, one-off American single - it’s a thing that k-pop groups sometimes do where they’ll release a song in a different country (the US or Japan mainly). Singles like this give artists a chance to tone shift and play around outside of their standard concept. It’s definitely fun!
This song is on their pink side. Just fun. Most BLINKS are not the biggest fan of Ice Cream but its just a fun song. Cowritten by Ariana Grande
Yep. It's not one of my favorites, but it's fun. BP songs are all so good that, when you say it's low on my list, that still means it's a pretty darn good song. I appreciate it because it was great exposure to Western audiences for BP. Ariana fans got way onboard with BP because of this.

This cannot count as Kpop since it was written by Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, and Tommy Brown. It is just pop with Blackpink singing it with Selena. The one they did with Cardi B (who I do not like) "Bet You Wanna" is awesome. They also did "Sour Candy" with Lady Gaga and "Kiss and Makeup" with Dua Lipa (the Blackpink alone version is better so watch the Tokyo Dome or Kyocera Dome live version). You also need to see their live cover of "Sure Thing" by Miguel.

It’s one of the most “hated” BP but I absolutely love it! They went with a cute, sweet rythm but went in with not so sweet lyrics. It was more pink than black for once, but it was still very them cause the song has a duality. Anyways, love your reactions !
That song was hated because of Lisa having rap, and Jisoo having least vocal line.

Hated within a section of the Blink fandom, but not hated overall. Lots of people love it. And BP just performed it live for the first time during their concert in Manila though I believe it was just during a pre-show sound check. Many believe they are practicing performing in live to perform it at Coachella perhaps with Selena 🙏

Something about the sound of it was just hard for me to get into at first.. I think maybe it just felt a little "bubblegum pop princess" to me.. ya know, like a bit girly for my taste. But c'mon, you can't deny, it's an earworm.. like it definitely grows on you pretty quick. I'll happily blast any BP song, anytime, anywhere (except "happiest girl" cause that song makes me sad, so technically I guess I'll blast "happiest girl" sadly? lol)

And the completely coincidental fact that this dropped the same day Selena announced her Ice Cream brand. Purely coincidental....
but Lisa's bars are pure gold and the song is a bop, so I'm not complaining at all
One of the things I really like about this song is the wordplay - rather "naughty" as the sub-text is all about sex. Lisa's rap is about a young lady making the most of her 'earning potential' over the summer - look at the wordplay used there.
It's rather reminiscent of Shakespear's work, especially his comedies, where there is a deliciously wicked sub-text when you understand the various meanings of the words and expressions he uses - The Royal Shakespeare Company through the last century (haven't seen modern works) has a lot ot answer for by their pretentious performances putting school pupils off.
