Yeah that was an immediate turn off- I was feeling HK vibes from Bo (in the character animation), but overall it felt unique; Deviator just straight up rips off assets from Hollow Knight... felt insulting that the video makes zero mention of how egregious it is.
Well... if Crowsworn already looks too "on the nose", Deviator is somehow even more blatant, lol I have no issues with games taking "Inspiration" on previous titles, but c'mon, you have to copy even the Hollow Knight artstyle? At least try to disguise things a little bit
I can give crowsworn a pass, it was inspired by Hollow Knight but it is different enough to have its own identity. Deviator though? Definition of straight out plagiarism. Some other videos show almost no change in the stolen assets.

Slavania's movement is just not something i enjoy in games. They move smoothly but each limb is just stiff, like that old game qwop.

I want that game to be dethroned because I had enough hearing from toxic players that it is the only best metroidvania and noting compares to it! The fans are indeed the most obnoxious little twats i've ever seen but calling every MV a HK murdered further polarizes us from them and brings again more spotlight on the issue. I wish people would just talk about it less and give more spotlight to smaller but also noteworthy titles such as Haiku the robot, 9 years of shadows, the last faith, etc...

These Hollow Knight Murderers have the potential to dethrone the game! I AGREE WITH YOUR LAST SENTENCE because in our time today, we have an "over abundance" of games in the metroidvania genre! These fans are prejucided against other titles because they have an obsessive fanatic and unhealthy obsession with the game. It is indeed very overrated and hardly half as good as many make it out to be. I don't hate the game but i hate the toxicity that the fandom is drenched in

YES IT CAN BE DETHRONED! Advertising, reviews and also high praise by players! Before I keep talking, I like you to know that I want Hollow Knight. I gave it a SEVEN OUT OF TEN. Giving 7 to the game means it is a good game! 7 is by any means not a bad score. I can finish the game anytime I want because I've unlocked the EGG TEMPLE but because this is my first play through and I am a completionist, I will complete first the things I can complete in this first playthough. You are correct, it is not as good as the other fans said. I also suspect that "Team Cherry" did paid reviews to webs and other players to make good reviews about their game. A game that is not even a 9 out of 10 cannot be considered a masterpiece. It has a lot of flaws that fans keep telling me IT IS THE FLAWS THAT MADE THE GAME BEAUTIFUL, IT IS WHAT WE WANTED THAT IS WHY THE GAME IS SO GOOD! A Flaw is a flaw and if you will say you like a things flaw YOU ARE CRAZY IDIOTIC! It has many flaws that is why it is only a seven out of ten to me but if it only have a few flaws still it is not considered as a masterpiece but I will say it is a great game AN EIGHT OUT OF TEN! This negative fanboism should end! Hey yo fellow Metroidvania Player I suggest you play Valdis Story: Abyssal City INFINITE TIMES BETTER THAN HOLLOW KNIGHT!
@@awakenedsoul2638 I haven't played HK yet which seems weird that i'm against it then as much, even unfair you could say. But the thing is i hate elitism so this arrogance that HK fanboys have deters me away from the game. I do not wish to be a part of it because of their fanaticism. So effectively they have pushed away a potential fan by being obsessive. I may be missing out on a good game, but that's no concern because like you said there's many other great alternatives. I also did watch a full playthrough so i sorta get what the game is about in terms of structure, story and visuals/music. I can't talk about feel as, like i said, i haven't played it. But that is irrelevant because my issues with it don't require a playthrough to pinpoint
