One thing about Scaramucci I always admire is his ability to admit when he was wrong. It goes a very long way of earning respect and even being more credible than the serial denialism that is taking precedence in DC. Facing your failures as a means to learn and be better IS foundational to being American.
@dboatrig you may be right that he is looking for an edge to gain an advantage. I think everyone on these platforms are. But I still appreciate these conversations which are more humane and at least feel honest. I find it more refreshing than the constant gaslighting of deny deny deny that doesn’t open up the conversation for any sort of intellectual reflection.

20 years ago, I almost invested in timeshare project Trump was building in Cabo. I decided to pass and one year later everyone who put $10K to $20K down, lost their money when Trumpy cancelled the project and pocketed the money.

What’s interesting is that Nixon diplomacy was excellent and the key numbers under his presidency were average or above average. His paranoia alone made him a byword for presidential failure.
America under Trump did quite well. Forget his vulgar, loud bloviating personality for a moment. The key numbers were excellent for most Americans. And don’t lie about debt. That was mostly driven by inane COVID policies and writing trillions in checks to private citizens, businesses and especially con artists in pharma selling a largely unnecessary’vaccine’. Take COVID numbers out and the country was better off by leaps and bounds than under Biden.

I prefer political commentators and analysts who haven't been misled by manipulative personalities. It begs the question as to why such individuals continue to be given platforms. Their judgment and guidance should indeed be viewed with a degree of skepticism by everyone.
I think it is a good segment to watch for the lost conservatives that don’t feel the Republican Party represents them. There are millions of those that need to hear this and see that conversation can be had without anger and double talk.

The problem with these kinds of people, is that they just have a different line they won’t cross. They are all about greed and making money without actually producing or improving the lives of others, but justify their actions by saying others are worse. It’s all a matter of degree.
I agree. Their red flags go off much later and it reflects avarice over good judgement. That they’re the safety valve for our democracy is telling of our society. I hope history does not lionize these people. It’s like you have to have been dangerously right wing or a greedy person today for your opinion to matter, and all we’re begging you to say is “Trump is not a good guy”. Scaramucci aka the Mooch is one of the funniest characters in the Trump saga. Shortest Press Secretary career in US history. Comically short it was just an error. And just when you think that is the end of the bit, he goes back to investments and ends up being buddies with the greatest financial fraud team in US history witnessing in person the house of cards collapsing. He has lived an incredible life and good for him for still liking to be on camera.
