Making MOTORIZED Plasma Cutting Track

    As you saw the motorized plasma cutting track works great. The lines are straight and the cutting is very fast. An additional plus is battery powered and variable speed controller which makes work very easy.
    If you are interested in plans, I will try to do them today or tomorrow and add a link to them in this description.
    In the project I used: UCF201 bearings, and a 20mm screw. Magnetic drill machine Evolution mag28, and the circular saw Evolution EVO230 with homemade stand.

    No se como paso pero a pesar de que no estaba viendo este tipo de contenido termine viendo este video y me puse nostálgica imaginando en lo bien que se debe sentir llegar a este nivel de satisfacción de tener una idea genial, luego convertirla en un proyecto para que al final te des cuenta que creer en ti mismo te convierte en un genio de la creación. Y eso mi querido amigo es la definición de admirar a alguien completamente desconocido.

    That works really nice. You could make that work for welding in a straight line too. Something that might help you is a magnetic ground.

      A toggle clamp ground could work as well, and would have the bonus of holding the material

    That looks super handy for cutting out lots of pieces for a project. Nice straight lines and you don't tire yourself out cutting them all by hand.

    How cool is that simple but effective very impressed I'm a welder fabricator and that would very handy for edge preping plate and just cutting in general lot easier than doing it by hand .

    Wow very simple and easy design. You could probably make three of these of these and use arduino grbl to control via stepper motors to cut circles and shapes. Awesome dude!!!!!!

    Very good I have a cheap cuter I may make a more delicate version smaller parts and lighter. I think this is the first time I see you pull out a lathe for anything. Most tools I see you use are attainable with not the big bucks, great build !!

    Just got a plasma myself and had exactly the same idea yesterday. I like how you used a drill chuck with a clutch rather than having to use limit switches to switch the motor off at the end of the stroke. Great work!

    can use the same track to lay down straight welds too using a mig welder
    might be a good idea to build the whole thing on the back of a sheetmetal bender across from the bending part , it whont be in the way of bending stuff and clamping the part down / earthing the workpiece using the hold down part on the bender , even setting it on a 45 degree angle or cutting multiple piece to the same length will be eazy using the fence of the bender
    a small laser sight should make lining up a mark with the cutterhead simple enough

    I picked up an ESAB plasma cutter and this mod would be incredible. Speed control is most important as what you are cutting varies.
