      Still working on it, but I always stopped and saves the draft to search. On the SELLER'S PERMIT START DATE, what if I have already started selling items before filling up the form? I should put today's date right? But got confused as the other past dates on the calendar are clickable.
      And also, on filing sales tax, do we, us online sellers still need to file the sales tax eventhough the website like Etsy and Facebook Marketplace already collects and remits it for us? I'm confused on this part. Thank you for this video and responding to comments.

      @LaverneSBDC  Před 3 lety

      @@LearnTagalogandIlocano You want to consult with CDFTA on the best course of action. If you have already made sales you will be liable for any sales tax on those items.
      As far as the services you will need to check with those services if they remit the tax to your state agency or to your company to pay. Contacting the CDTFA will also clear this up.

      @@LaverneSBDC hello there. I'm a non us resident wanting to do business in US. I'm looking to form LLC in Wyoming state, after acquiring my sellers' permit of Wyoming state, can I sell all over the US or not? I mean... Do I need to have sellers permit of all states in United States?!!

    • @LaverneSBDC
      @LaverneSBDC  Před 3 lety +1

      @@akindia8519 You need to check with the state to see if you may owe sales tax on items sold. Generally, your sales permit will allow you to sell in the US and internationally. You may want to set up an appointment with a business advisor at your local SBDC to set up your business with all the licenses and permits.

    First of all, amazing video. Answers a lot of questions of a lot of people. The best I've found in this topic and I'm a CZcams frog.
    I have a question. If I am selling the products on a retail site like Shopify, they are the others that do all the payment processing.
    I don't charge anyone's card.
    So in this case (which applies to lots of marketplaces like Amazon, Walmart, Stubhub, Facebook and other) do I say I yes to credit card processing and enter the name of the online marketplace which will charge the buyer on my behalf?
    This is 5:23 on your video.
    Your answer is highly appreciated?

"This FEIN is the same as the FEIN entered for the primary customer of this registration. Please only enter a FEIN if it is unique to this Owner/Officer/Member/Manager." When I try to make an account, it asks for "account type " with a drop down menu with areas that do not apply to what my business does. It also asks for an account number in which I do not have. On the top, it does say a security code will be mailed out to me but I have not received anything yet. It's been about 3 weeks since I signed up for the Sellers Permit and I did receive an email saying "The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) processed your request." also asking me to log in. hope this makes sense. also, when do I pay for the $800 tax fee ? I applied for an llc 1/13/21 and have the ein/tax id #/statement of information/articles of organization/statement of organizer. I've also paid for the $20 statement of information fee.

If you are concerned, you can ask the CDTFA help line for questions. The $800 fee will be paid to the Franchise Tax Board when you file state taxes. You can check the FTB.Ca.gov on how to file for your LLC.

    Hello, I hope this comment finds you well. Under the “individual information” (for home address) I entered my address as I do not have a physical place of business and I run my clothing line out of home. I selected yes for the “use as business location” (not sure why I did that) and now it is displayed under my name on my sellers permit. Did I do that incorrectly? I suppose I am just paranoid that I should have actually selected “no” for business location as it is just my home address and now it is displayed on my permit. Although I do operate from home my address is not really a “business location” so I’m worried I did that wrong and not sure how to edit or if that’s even an option to correct. Please let me know your thoughts, if you know how to correct this, or if what I did was not wrong, I would really appreciate your feedback! Hi! Where do I find my permit number on my permit? Is it the account number?

    • @LaverneSBDC
      @LaverneSBDC  Před 4 lety +1

      Once you finish filing for the seller's permit a confirmation page should have come up with that number. This used to inquire about the status of your permit until the physical document comes to you.

      You may still be able to apply for a seller's permit but there is some additional and tax information the state will need. You can contact the CDTFA to find out what that might be.

    For the seller permit do you need to pay monthly?

    • @LaverneSBDC
      @LaverneSBDC  Před 3 lety +1

      The seller's permit itself is free. But you will be liable for any sales taxes you collect from customers to be paid to the Franchise Tax Board. Check the CDTFA website for the schedule of filing for taxes.

      @Eric Technically you can. The CDTFA only requires a driver's license to file for a seller's permit. If you have any other questions please take a look at the FAQs www.cdtfa.ca.gov/services/getting-started.htm
