as my art director told me, "never design in color, start with black and white - if it works in black and white, it will work in color"
Probably more true in logo-design and stylized graphics than it is is illustration and photo-editing, but never the less good advice.
If you can't make it look good in black and white, you won't be able to make it look good in color either. That's true.
I agree more to design in three tones - dark/middle/bright if it's about web design and illustration like an esquisse in painting
wise advice, Thanks for sharing it with us.
Actually very applicable not only for graphic design but also in painting and cinematography.
Thus the need to study values in painting and making a grissaille(grayscale) underpainting.

Room to breath and/or space is my most favorite tip that I learned from you.. and will keep on using.. thanks!!!
Love these tips. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Great tips explained in a simple and meaningful way. Will definitely incorporate these lessons...thanks!
Boss, thanks again. Since you asked.. every piece of phrase, patch of color, position and graphic were wowsome.
Impeccable work there aligned with lot of dedication towards the project. I always liked your work. Fascinating.

Impressive and useful as always! Keep up the AMAZING work, Satori!
Thanks for the tips. I'll be paying more attention to Color Themes and Matching.

Beautiful video..
Thank u..
Typography needs room is the area i am working hard on...
U explained the color linking and color guides so well...
I found this in my recommendation and it’s been a lifesaver to help me cope with “Designer’s Block”! Thank you for this quality content!
I love your videos, keep it up man!!
I registered to your sponsor through your referral link ! thank you so much for being on youtube, your videos are so educational , love from India
Thanks mate, this is so much helpful for me.. 👍
Same, I Luv using Color Guide anytime I get stuck in finding colors that work well Color Guide always helps in having a perfect palette ready to go 🎨 ✅
Love this because as a graphics designer these were all the points I failed at in previous work. I would crowd out the design trying to make it stand out with putting more text and objects plus wrong color palettes. Thank you. I’m evolving much better.
great tips, nice one. Hope you had a great Easter
Good job Tom. Thanks!
Thanks for giving some useful tips :)
I wish I could give this a million likes. Thank you for the insights
Thanks for the tips :)
I really liked the part where you talked about colors, and how more muted colors are more for an understated approach, whereas strong colors express more energy or stronger impressions. :) It made me think about my favourite companies, and how they express their image visually through colors. Such as one of my favourite spas'. They actually have a very similar color scheme for the "Kate Robins" business cards. And I believe that it's to express calm, relaxation and harmony.
Good advice. Thank you.
"Like this video" @ tip. 3 was well done!
another Great Tutorial from Tom Satori as always...
It's very useful tips. Thanks
Thank you mate!
Colour is hard!!! Do you ever use 'coolors' ? It generates 5 harmonious colours randomly - has helped me to avoid picking wrong harmonies. You rule Tom! Happy Easter 🙌🐇
Tools can surely come handy in design, but a lot of it lays on you knowing 100% what you're doing.
Amazing tips ✋✋
Great tips. Keep it up
Love your videos
I don't know if I was the first to notice the repetition of the "tip no. 1" in the upper right part of the video. I hope this is not a graphic designer's pathology and I sincerely thank you for the advices you share on this platform. I truly like your videos, see ya :) 🚩
thanks satori
All points were useful 😊

Nice
hello am in Uganda Africa but i like your videos and they have helped me to improve on my designing skills. I would like to start my CZcams channel as well
1:03 i feel it 😂
Could you please tell more about function and intention or tell some good examples where to read more about those?
Hello sir. Thanks for the video.. there's a little mistake in your video... You type tip no.1 instead of tip no.2 on top right corner
Which font are you using for your logo
Great video...one typo though.....when youre on tip 2, it says tip 1 in the tops right of the screen
No need to be sarcastic, I was just trying to be helpful
@@ryanaldous2743 You don't know how to take a joke lmao
I pretty confused on how to make my first portfolio..what desigs to choose from...as a graphic designer..if you could suggest me something..🙏
Siddhartha Rajput You don’t have to add all your work in a portfolio. You just have to add your best pieces of work.
I miss TIP No. '2' at the top right 😋 amazing video otherwise
!oved
the bar at the top of the video has 2 times 'tip no.1' just saying it in case its a template you made to use in different video's

Hey make on T shirt Design
Your voice is too clear for non native English speaker
@@SatoriGraphics I'm a non native English speaker and I think your voice is good as it is. You speak rather slow and comprehensible. Non native people can learn a lot listening to native, natural speaking. Thank you for the great tips. :)
@@SatoriGraphics no, the pace you talk at is perfect and easily comprehensible, the words you say are clear and understandable, the slight accent to your english is very pleasent and it could be your niche, i like the content and the way you talk
if u want a "conservative" approach dont use the color red lol thats funny
Just go learn from top dribbble designers
presentation is boring.
Nice
