Jim Peterik is an American icon. My generation latched onto this tune and never let it go. It was a 'get your ass off that bleacher and dance' head banger.

Oldest son was 3rd trombone in 1991 edition of the Maroon Typhoon Marching Band at Jones County Comm. College. Their field show that year closed with "Vehicle" and "I Can See For Miles". Quite exciting with these two high power numbers.
Love this song!. Love the Idea of March and grew up not far from Berwyn, my cousin's lived there and I had many friends that lived in Berwyn. One of my friends lived in Countryside and one of the members of Survivor lived in his condo building. Jim Peterik performed at an ALS Fundraiser that I participated in with one of my oldest and closest friends, she had been diagnosed with ALS just before her 50th birthday. It was a Rock-a-thon fundraiser for Les Turner ALS foundation. We had a great time. Unfortunately that was the last time I was able to see my friend. She passed away the following year.
WOW!!!!!! What a Monster HIT!!!! And just now hearing this made me feel like lightning going thru me!!!!! DAGGUMMMMM! I love this song!!!! I am grateful to God for your story, the strong motive of this song, the way HE brought you and your wife together!!! Amazing, powerful, and almost too wonderful to be real, ......... BUT IT IS!!!!!!!
I was 15 when this song was a hit and was learning to play the tenor sax at the time. Wish I could have learned to play as well as this great horn section. Still love this song. P.s. Ides of March is my date of birth.
i remember my high school days in Arellano wid my classmate Noel who is stricken wid Polio. We used to sing d song together. oh i love those days wid my high school friends.
@@Sam-qm1io Oh, I'm so sorry 😞 Yes, once and a while I have typos. I will admit I'm not a very good typist. I love this band and thought I'd leave a message about how great they sound and how their songs motivate me, make me happy. I was in a bad accident and am getting through a lot of skin graph surgeries. It's been a very painful two months in the hospital so far and I've been watching videos, movies and music videos to keep my mind off of the situation I'm going through. Sometimes I don't check my typing before I post. I'll do that from now on. Sorry I upset you. Thanks for letting me know ☺️

These guys still sound as great as they did in 1970!
I'm 63...and I get winded just bending over to tie my shoes.
I'm guessing Jim Peterik is not a smoker.
Being that I'm from Chicago, I can tell you that The Ides of March are the pride of Berwyn IL!
The pride of Berwyn was the car-kabob...now it's Jim Peterik.
@Sam-qm1io I remember that car-kabob! I was so pissed when they took it away. But you're right, they'll always have Jim.
I am from Chicago as well and lived in Berwyn for 14 years....Ides of March and Chicago had great horn sections

Classic. This song will Never get old.
Great music is never out of vogue and style. Just timeless.
Agreed100
The song? Jim Peterik is what never seems to get old.
He's much older than I am...and I get winded tying my shoes!
As a drummer it was always so empowering to play this as a cover song in 1971 in the most popular club in Chattanooga.
This song is the embodiment of the male psyche at its euphoric best
God, that's a great comment. Spot on.
Jim Peterik. One of the best songwriters ever. Hands down.
Great God in heaven ... fantastic line!
Just awesome, i was 13 when this came out. It was huge.
One of my all time favorites!!!
This is the song that plays in my head every time I walk my bloated ugly ass into a bar to hit on the laydezz!
Brilliant!

Is it the lighting, or is the front part of his hair dyed orange?
On some occasions his hair is purple :-)) Look at Survivor Eye of the tiger, the story behind the song.
@@jackbeam56 I appreciate that, but this is where I stop.
@@davidhull1481 It's hilarious but not my cup of tea :-))
Sadly, in today’s world, this song would be considered perverted, just like the lyrics to Chicago’s “Make Me Smile” lyrics. The world is twisted!!
