Hey everyone!
In this video, I show you how I create an organic balloon garland backdrop for the events I design. At first, creating this balloon garland used to be so difficult, especially when it came to wrapping the string around the balloons in order to create a balloon garland. However, I have gone through trials and tribulations so it can be easy for you to follow so you don’t make the same mistakes I made.
When I design events, the MOST popular request is to create an organic balloon garland (definition mention in the video). It’s the focal point of a party and it really catches everyone’s eye when they see it. Usually, balloon garlands go behind a dessert table or it’s used for a photo backdrop (check out my Instagram to see how I used one for a photo backdrop).

Beautiful! Can this be done outdoors, and is that stand strong enough for the wind?
Little Fifths It can done outdoors but it’s not ideal. I would recommend getting sandbags to ground the stand but you might need a different stand for an outdoors event.
What do you do when balloons pop after they're tied into the garland? Thank you for all the great ideas!
Hi Trudy, if they are easy to remove, I will remove them. If not, I either tuck them and add a balloon on top of it

I love your work . How do you get your backdrop as in this pipes together?
I used zip ties in this video but now I use balloon string or 260 balloons to tie them to the pole.

Depends....the event designers I coach have told me their balloons last weeks & sometimes months before they lose their shape. The higher-quality balloons you use, the longer they will last. I go into more detail about my garlands in this video: czcams.com/video/J-KhZAEAmwA/video.html
Thank you for the in depth tutorial! How far in advance can you set up the balloon garland? I’m doing the garland for a baby shower and since it’s my first time, I want to give myself plenty of time to make it. But I also don’t want the balloons to loose air.
Robyn Bolton Hi Robyn! Thanks for the compliment. I usually do my balloon garlands the night before. Depending on the temperature in your house will dictate whether or not your balloons will lose air. Usually if my clients allow me to do it the night before, I always tell them to keep their house cool at 78 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. Anything above that may cause the balloons deflate. But I would recommend practicing with dollar store balloons before the baby shower. Good luck 🙃

How do you know how much fishing line to start and end with when assembling the balloons?
I don't usually know how much fishing line to start with which is why I don't cut the fishing wire until I'm finished with the balloon arch. After measuring the balloon arch, I will usually cut the fishing wire (at the end).
I’m going to make one for my daughter’s party. The party is at a park. Do you recommend building it at the park or is it pretty easy to travel with?

That’s a really great question🤔I would recommend at least blowing up the balloons before hand and putting them in those HUGE black bags (construction bags they sell at Walmart). It should be easy to travel with but they will take up a lot of room in your car. I’m actually doing that today and I’m going to be creating a video to show you guys. Hope this helps ♥️♥️

When it comes to pricing, you really need to scope out your competition in your area. That's what I did! After that, I would price your services based on the amount of supplies you use, how much time it takes, and what your competitors are pricing. Good luck!

When you got how big you wanted it how didyou finish the string on the end side of it? Did you tie it like you did the beginning of it? I'm using this for my daughter's party next month. You made it seem soo simple verse other ones i have seen.

That’s a great question! I usually manipulate the garlands when I’m done creating. Go check out my other videos with my balloon garlands and you’ll see me manipulate them as I put them on the wall.
