First welcome to Britain. Take what Patients say with a pinch of salt they are poorly and some people are at their worst when they are like that. You acted in the correct manner. A little tip Jimmy slow down a little when you speak, i can understand you fine as I'm from the North, but I've found Southerners really struggle with dialects and ive had to slow down and speak pr. It's ignorance IMO on their part as the rest of the country seems to catch on too each others dialects. Secondly sometimes when a white man calls you a black so and so, doesn't always mean that he's calling you because you're black, it depends on the situation. Example a friend may hurt you by accident say and you'll call him a daft black so and so, you're not calling him because of his colour as in this case he's white for instance. It's just an expression a term we use and there's many that will bring out the race card because they're not reading the situation correctly. Good luck for the future as the NHS needs all the help it can get

Jimmy one thing you may not realise is the fact you speak very very fast and you're hard to understand at times, try to slow down a bit. This will confuse your patients and frustrate them and their reactions may be harsh, just trying to help, in fact watch this video of yourself then swap to a native English speaker, note the difference.

While I am watching this there is a magpie squawking extremely loudly outside my window! At this time I hate that magpie and want it to go away. But I do not dislike magpies....
Guess what I am saying is we all meet people from time to time who seem unfriendly for whatever reason but some just love to label it as something sinister rather than it just being the way things are. Kudos to you Jimmy for not being one of these victim types.

My experience....racism surfaces when you have you own mind and can think independently for yourself..but if you sing their song and make them feel superior, make them feel on top, you will become best friends with them...and even with that they will always make subtle comments...its really depends on someone levels of wanting to be embrace accepted by them....

When I was studying for Ielts, I just randomly downloaded materials randomly online. After you register for IELTS, you will be given access to a few study materials.
Tip: IELTS is not easy. Study for it as if you are studying for a PHD. And…practice and practice and practice.
Find a partner to study with.
