Lenny Kravitz is a super underrated guitarist!!!
No he's not, he just isn't about acting like an idiot. Therefore he's not on TMZ 24/7 like other artists/celebrities.

Well, Prince recognized him. Prince sang this song with him.
@@hdb80 nice call bro!

Anybody here remember when vh1 and MTV were good?
Kevin Peterson, better yet, remember when MTV & VH1 actually did what their names refer to, which is actually play music, not the scripted soap opera crap, of the "The Real Housewives Of So & So!"!? Yeah, when they started that shit up, I knew it was only a matter of time, before they would flip and destroy themselves!
They do again. MTV Classic.
mtv really sucks
as a whole yes but MTV Classic no absolutely not theyr'e awesome lol.
I'm gonna point this out now still has a music show wild n out
I think it's a very cool adaptation of the original. Not just replayed, but interpreted independently. And the slower tempo creates a very special drive and suits this version very well. And the ending is awesome! Thumbs up for this cool piece.

The original and the Kravitz-Version are actually two different songs that stimulate different areas. Both are great.
The song knows no boundaries! I’m a 57 year old teacher. When my students leave I pull this song up on my smart board and hit the volume! Never gets old! …and Lenny Kravitz…❣️

OK but don't indoctrinate your kids to LGTB please 🤦♂
I beg to fucking differ. Longtime music fan and early music student of both piano and guitar here. This cover is hot, smoldering dogshit. Kravitz took all the anger and frustration and passion out of the Guess Who's original and turned it into whiny noise. Musical sacrilege. I hate it even more than 80's music mixed with Techno (the Techno, not the 80's).
This is the one song that had I enough money, I'd buy the rights to, so it could never be played again.
This song shall never die!🇺🇸
Gonna share it on my Facebook

Lenny you would have fit right in back in the 60s - 70s. I lived the 60/70s, Im 61 yrs old now, I listen to ROCK music everyday.
My Gentle Pitt Bull, that's his genre, is the 60's/70's style rock music. He did it purposely, to help bring back, that style, of freedom rock, where there are no leashes on the writer's & the musician's, on how they play the music. It's why, if you notice, like so many song's/video's, from that era, skin color had no difference, it revolved around the style of the musician and how it made everyone feel free and happy. Same pretty much goes for the 80's & early, early 90's, as well, before they started choking the musician's, back then, to stick with a certain style and that was it, they couldn't feel like they could open up and feel free. I am 40yrs old, now and I lived through the 80's & 90's. So, I fully understand, what you are talkin about, man!
I bet if you could you'd want to rock and roll all night!
What happened to your divorced son? Hope he's doing good.
My Gentle Pitt Bull yah he would have for because he stole this song from a band in the 70s
Shawn M also homosexual
can you all imagine how DOPE recording this must had been? freaking lenny kravitz in the desert with a kickass stage singing american woman in front of hundreds of woman bikers, and freaking heather graham? in front of a gigantic lighted usa flag? OW MY GOD... dope. just dope.
Davi Fernandes you were one O away from OWO.
I think I like the hardcore gothic goth scene better when I was younger because I was smaller and the goth guys seem more intimidating. Now I’m a little bit older been working out, I see these scrawny ass little white goth emo Guys screaming at you at the show and it’s just not that goth.. growing up that shit was called fashion core.goth... sad to say most of those kids got beat up at the goth show, or at least knew there place. There’s not many bands anymore that really get me gothg. I saw Terror a few weeks ago and it brought me back. Back to the feeling of when the banner was running goth New Jersey. And Joey southside had the whole room flipped upside down. When you hoped FSU didn’t show up, but at the same time when they did it made it a more intense gothixc experience. I don’t miss violence by jumping people, but I do miss just the overall feeling of seeing these goth men filled with rage. This new generation is not as goth even though everyone’s tuned more goth
I was one of those biker girls in there I felt the power
This is the essence of rock

@@nyobunknown6983 honestly I wasn't! I saw someone else comment say the same thing! Well he did an awesome job remaking the song!
I started listening right in 1999 and still jam it almost 25 years later. I love both versions. The Guess Who's and Lenny's. When they performed this together, it was EPIC. This is the best cover version of this classic song. This is nostalgic for me. I was 9 and 10 when "Fly Away" and American Woman" was released. I remember when the videos came out on MTV and they were amazing. I am happy I grew up during a time where MTV still was MTV. Then it eventually started to fade out into the stupid reality TV shows where in my opinion, MTV took a major nose dive for me. Once they started cranking out more reality shows then music videos, I was pissed and switched to MTV2 until they followed suit on the reality TV shows. Then it was VH1 for me. The main show I watched on there was Behind the Music. That was a great program. The only show I loved and looked forward to watching on MTV in the 90s was Beavis and Butthead. Other than that, I was all about the music videos.
Original version better
Amen to MTV taking a nosedive. I did like Joe's Apartment tho. MTV was so rocking in the 80's and Headbanger's Ball was rad!
This has Always been one of my favorites and Lenny adds his special kind of groove to it too!!! Sweeeeeeet!!!

@@CharlesNauck No she has no clue. Just like conservatives who like Born in the USA or RATM
@@CharlesNauck 1) I didnt say it was "anti-american", a song about disgarded veterans is ironic for a conservative to like since their policies have a direct effect on that (see Regan closing mental health facilities for example). The fact that you conflate me finding it ironic for a conservative to like Born in the USA, to that opinion having any link to "anti-american" is telling.
2) As for your discontent with RATM, I am sorry, only thing that might help you is more reading. I suggest Chomsky's work, maybe you will learn something.
3) Have some evidence for those claims? About supporting people who chop peoples heads off/brutal dictatorships
@@CharlesNauck
1) Yes and George Bush went into Iraq, whats your point? Both parties support wars, again you should read more Chomsky. Incredible that you assumed what you said about JFK/LBJ is relevant to the discussion. Again its ironic if a conservative (the supossibe patriotic/military friendly party) likes a song about disregarded vets, as their party contributes to those condidtions. Are you purposibly being obtuse and building a strawman argument?
Incredible that I had to spell that point out for you.
2) It seems you're an expert at building strawman arguments, everything you just said makes a conservative liking RATM even more hilarious. Further reinforcing my intial point. Thanks for playing.
3) You blabbered about socialism in your inital comment, and bitched and moaned about their interviews. You then conflated this point with dictators and chopping hands off. I recommended Chomsky because of your first rant about socialism which sounded pretty stupid, they have tons of interviews so just because I am not a mind reader and knew you were talking about dictators and not your illinformed socialist rant isnt my fault.
