This is actually a rly good support for Hu Tao.Her shield has a better multiplier than Thoma so that's why ppl started building Tankfei

I've never seen a Tankfei use Mappa Mare. Usually it's prototype amber for additional HP and extra healing.

the scariest yanfei I've ever seen was a lvl 40 yanfei doing 50k damage. I joined a co-op session to fight scara and I matched with this person twice and both times they pulled out a lvl 40 yanfei and absolutely destroyed a lvl 90 scara. I was terrified

Actually it is important, especially for a Tankfei build where you want as much HP as possible. Leveling up and ascending a character is the easiest way to get more HP.
I mean shes a lawyer so it'd make sense that she would protect you

I just use 'they' as a completely gender-neutral pronoun when I don't know for certain, just to be safe.

yanfei main here. yes tankfei builds exists. i think it started in the cn community then spread it here to the global scene. sadly i'm using yanfei as a DPS, but i switch to tankfei once in a while ^-^

@@locohero577 you run hu tao, xingqiu, yanfei, and kazuha/sucrose, you can apply pyro and shield with yanfei then vv swirl it which is good because if you only had hu tao you’d have to enter a cooldown to apply pyro

Hutao mains actually love tankfei. Ttds and shield feels like a budget bennet for them. I don't have Hutao though and I have good wanderer's pieces so she's a dps build with my beidou in my overload comp.
@@oddpotato4038 honestly it’s better to use ttds on sucrose (and even then it’s annoying to do the rotation and avoid xingqiu’s hydro ruining your swirl), it doesn’t really work to have it on yanfei . but prototype amber is really good for her, gives more HP and has a really nice passive

@@oddpotato4038 honestly, i use sacrificial fragments on her personally because i don’t like having to deal with the rotation and it’s not a huge damage loss since hu tao doesn’t benefit too much from atk and sacrificial fragments gives you more elemental mastery which is good for sucrose buffing. but you can do either one

Tankfei is actually a very good build, i usually use her with TToDS, since it also has HP as substat, and even further buffs my character, since i most of the times i run her with Bennet, tankfei is actually a good shielder XD
TTDS is kinda weird because it’s the NEXT character that switched in that gets the attack buff, but normally with the next character you want to switch to after applying pyro is your VV user (basically not your pyro main dps). This kinda wastes on the ttds, so kinda need a longer rotation to get the full effects of the buff
@@ananrs8750 i ussually use Klee to decrease enemies def as well (talking abbout her C2), so depending on my team i switch TToDS between them, decreasing DEf and giving the buff to my carry, for example, my Xiao team, anemo MC burst, Bennet burst, Yanfei burst, Xiao skill twice then burst, by the end of the burst effect almost everyone has their burst back

It's pretty much a meme build, but it's helpful in a lot of situations. Plus, her Jade Screen' strength scales with HP

I build ningguang with 4 pc nobless, dragon book, full ER, and she is even lv20, she buff a lot when pare with Zhongli
Thing is, some characters got this type of shield, but the shield only works best against its own element. Say, Yanfei's shield is pyro-base, so it only works optimally when against enemy's pyro attacks. I do not say it does not work at all, but only optimally works against their own elements.

This was a popular/meta build in CN servers when Yanfei first came out. Not really popular on other servers tho. Stack HP plus Prototype Amber.
One of my friends who's played Genshin a lot longer than me has a level 70 critfei, she was so happy when she finally got 24k crit damage with her, and she's still only level 70! The build she used was 4 piece crimson witch, mappa mare, I believe she's at c5 and Idk her talent levels. I'm a newer player (started at the start of Raiden's rerun this year) and for lantern rite I chose Yanfei to follow in bestie's footsteps even though I'm not a huge catalyst fan :D

She's a lawyer. Of course, she needs to be a tank to endure all the legal bs, especially when it comes to Fontanean law.
Tankfei is sooo good with prototype Amber, she heals, regens energy, shields and with noblesse also buffs your party plus providing pyro resonance and pyro particles, Yanfei is sooo good either support or dps
C4 tankfei and it’s only used when u wanna run a hutao vap comp with the last slot with an anemo unit to double swirl pyro hydro. Alternative instructor amber is a better option and Thoma a weaker option are valid substitutes.

Something I really like about HSR is how light cones work compared to weapons in genshin because your Base stats are partially tied to them meaning unconventional builds can actually be used to better success, like if Yanfei were a Destruction character in HSR then you could equip her with a Light Cone with a High HP base stat like Blade’s and Tankfei would be better than it ever could in Genshin
I love Yanfei! She pairs really well with Beidou.

I normally use Yanfei as my main DPS while using characters like Ei, Kazuha and Xingqiu for elemental reaction support. Seeing a Tankfei build is not something I’d imagine seeing until now.

I've always seen this build as a secondary option (after the main recommended dps) on the build guide spreadsheet I've been following for over 2 years, so as soon as they showed noblesse, I figured it'd be that. It's interesting seeing someone *actually* using it. 😅

Usually, you want Prototype Amber for the HP substat, the passive healing and energie refound. Then, ER/HP/HP on the artifacts to make sure you have enough ER for the burst (where the shield come from). Artifacts set either 2pcs+2pcs HP/ER or 4pcs nobless

Her shield is strong af, especially in this build. It looks like this person has it set up for her to not only have a good shielder, but for her to set up other chars for elemental reactions. They did a good job
