- Filthy, Rich & Catflap is a tale of Richie Rich (Mayall), talentless and unheard of television personality along with Ralph FIlthy (Planer), his useless, sponging agent and Eddie Catflap (Edmondson), his alcoholic minder, who are both involved in helping (hindering) Richie's quest for TV fame and glory.
Episode Two - Ritchie is blackmailed by the Nolan Sisters so Eddie becomes an artist in order to raise the cash to pay them off. With Hugh Laurie, Steven Fry, the Nolan Sisters, Harry Enfield, Chris Barrie, Gareth Hale. - Komedie
Richie's bouffant hair kills me. One of the funniest things I've seen on tv.
This is without doubt the best comedy in the last 30+ years....why it only got 1 series is beyond me
Just the funniest comedy episode I think I’ve ever seen. Rik’s faces were triff.
Rik and Chris Barrie in the same show?! *Dies of fangirl overload*
and Harry Enfield!
Mr. Barrie also did an episode of 'The Young Ones'! He plays a 19th Century Royal Naval officer in one of the off-the-wall scetches. (In 'Flood' I belive!)
she did Mollie Sugden brilliantly :D
gratest tv series ever made
It is fantastic
Richies excitement is contagious
JULIAAAAAAAAAN!!!! SHUT THAT GORMLESS GIT UP- NO UNSCRIPTED SPONTANEITY!! I've seen this thousands of times and it never gets boring. The perfect role for Rik Mayall to run absolute riot in. Bloody Brilliant!
Had no idea harry Enfield in this
rik mayall at his best
rip rik !!!!
Which is screaming " you bastard" at Ade Edmondson and getting hit with a balsa wood prop. Yawn, wake me up when its over. This was actually regarded as alternate comedy in the 80's.
ArchibaldBagge If that's how to feel don't watch him. You're in a minority of ONE so stfu & go watch sometone really funny like Richard the bellend Briers in The Good Life. Rik Mahalo was a comedic genius you fucki twat
Ivor Whopper thanks for giving me the clap!
Brilliant my favourite episode.......
Classic this made me laugh so much xx
Chris Barrie needs to lower his blood pressure haha
Rik Mayall; the original TV maniac :P
Aw, angry Chris haha
ty for uploading
The producer is hilarious
better than bottom
*director
For anyone familiar with the whole'variety' scene at the time this was done 'ooer sounds a bit rude' is pretty hysterical. Quite savage as well really. Although people do lament the death of variety (and don't get me wrong, some great talents did come out of it) it did produce a helluva lot of tat. The whole 'useless celeb' scene has been going on for more or less 40 odd years unchecked, its nothing new. Its just now it's reach is wider.
lol chris barrie is awesome in this episode!
The greatest comedy EVER.
The show was a send up of Blankety Blank, which may have been a BBC remake of 'Match Game.'
Amazing comedy
Great show daughter Great show Richie you complete me yeah yeah daughter now where's all your alcohol
Molly Slocombe 😂
OH HOW I LOOOOVEE THE BIZZNIZZ. My favorite Rick Mayal performance.
@jodiefostersarmy ive not seen him that angry since "alpha betti spaghetti"
Tres kinko 😂
Gd old rimmer awesome 👌😁
Aye, he occasionally turned up the the early Rik and Ade stuff.
Also, I don't know if you ever watched Spitting Image, but he did most of the voices for that (One of his talents is an impressionist).
Prior to Spit, he worked on a Jasper Carrott series along with Nick Wilton & they together had done a radio show called Son of Cliché. Wilton has recently shown up in Eastendersh
It's Rimmer!!!!!
Rimmer!
John kinda reminds me of Mr. Humphries from the same show...
I've not seen Chris Barrie this angry since the "Quagaars".
The episode where Lister says he slept with his mother
2:51 So this is what Lady GaGa did before she became famous xD
@jodiefostersarmy I love you for saying that!
He's annoying. Gareth Hale owns this scene.
Gareth Hales facial expressions and the way he talks really amuses me in this lol.
Richie rules.
@RideableLlama I know i wish they had done at least one more series.
ha i see harry enfield :D
haha! no way. Harry Enfield on the Camera at 2:40
He's Floor manager
Being a Yank, I fear some of the celebrity impersonations may have been lost on me! I mean, I caught the 'Mrs. S' from 'AYBS?' & I remember years ago seeing an English ventriloquist who had an emu. The rest of them ellude me.
Also... the premise of the show sounds alot like 'Match Game'! Did they ever have that show in the UK?
There was 2 impersonations from aybs mrs slocombe & mr humpthries
Yup we had Match Game in the UK it’s called Blankety Blank originally hosted by Terry Wogan later on Les Dawson took over, when it was revived in the late 1990s drag comedian Lily Savage (Paul O’Grady) hosted and now another revival has just started with Bradley Walsh who also hosts the UK version of The Chase, when Terry Wogan hosted he used the wand style microphone which Kenny Everett used to bend every time he was on the panel. On Les Dawson’s first episode he took the mic and snapped it in half. As for the emu it was Rod Hull & emu who was known to have emu attacking tv hosts in chat shows.
Rimmer! :D
Linked from Twitter @RetroToGo - RIP Mollie Sugden.
Who's the chick playing Cindy?
"I'm feeling alittle bit...queer!"
@avroyne yep.
Ooer Sounds A Bit Rude, reminds me a bit about Don't Be Dirty, from A Bit Of Fry & Laurie :)
@IreneFenn0512
Automated bot, Much?
