- I rejected Jesus for my whole life until recently... this is my story and evolution.
And why now I accept Jesus Christ as my spiritual teacher. It still feels so fresh and vulnerable to speak about, but the story is profound. The best part is, I don't subscribe to any religion, because I also see enlightened beings from Eastern Religions such as Krishna and Buddha as my teachers (I LOVE the Bhagavad Gita, I totally recommend reading it).
Spirituality can mean a plethora of things to different people, but to me, it means seeing God as One. All religions point to the same One. Yet so many religions divide and create a veil of separation, "our God is better", etc.

A little over 7 years ago I got a concussion. My nervous system is still responding to stimuli in a different way since that event, and I'm still working back towards a full life, and finding a new purpose. Along the way, maybe 3 years ago, I had a session with someone who called her treatment lymphatic enhancement therapy. She was born without lenses in her eyes. She couldn't see as most people see, but she could see colors, auras, and chakras around people and objects. She says she sees spirits all the time, and sometimes briefly pauses the treatment to look and listen to spirits talking.
This one session, there was tightness on the left side of my abdomen. She hit a singing bowl over it, and my organs started gargling wildly. We both laugh, and she says "Ah, that makes sense!" I ask her what she means. She says earlier that morning, Jesus asked her if he could be present at our session. Jesus was stabbed in the spleen while on the cross, and my spleen had just released something.
I think silently for a few minutes, and start crying. I wonder why Jesus would want to be at my session, because I felt unworthy. Like you, I was forced to go to Catholic church and Catholic school, angrily by my atheist father, lol. I didn't want to believe for so long. She said he was a protector of mine, and mentioned this vibrant red sash around him. He was at another session of ours later on, and she said if I could only see how many angels were watching behind and all around him, it would be so mesmerizing.
I'm still working on feelings of unworthiness and what I am here to do. I am still working on trust, and putting all my faith in God the Father and the Son, so I can be at peace whether I fully heal or not, and that I trust I may be taken care of by someone here if I do allow the first will be last, and the last will be first in my life and my body.

I pray for your journey. Remember that the "Church" is not a location, it is the entire body of believers. Don't let those individuals that are not in full understanding of the Faith thwart you. I also pray that you take some time to go to the Catechism and study the sacraments. They are truly gifts from our Creator, for us to experience his love here on earth.

Most people evolve in how they see things over time. I wouldn't say that I reject Jesus or God but I am skeptical about what the actual truth or truths are. I can imagine who God and Jesus are and what they want, but I feel confident that there is a difference between what I imagine and the reality of it all. Even when I listen to how people describe spirituality, to me it sounds as though they are talking about emotional well being and what kind of thoughts help to promote this.
If you think about Jesus as a spiritual master, he still offered to clean your karma and bring you into heaven upon you death... and in fact, he's alive and accessible right now.
It's beautiful, he's beautiful, and his gift is priceless.

- I suggest the King James Version of the Bible + the catechism of the Catholic Church + the writings of Catherine of Sienna + Padre Pio. Pray to saint Micheal the Archangel, since you've dabbled in New Age bs. Demons are hyper active it that field, hence depressive states. I strongly suggest you go to confession. The Church is Christ's masterpiece despite its members. He works in it. I'm an artist and I don't like the religious world, but the Eucharist is at Mass, and it's Christ's Real presence. Christ also had to face the people of His day.

My issue is where do people like us go? I’m not religious and believe also that religion separates us but spirituality like new age I don’t fall into that category either. So where do the ones like us go? The ones with Christ in our heart, not in a church, not in tarot or astrology, but the love the true essence of our entire being….where do we go?
I’m still figuring it out and God is working on me to reveal my answer. Divine timing. I’m just curious.
