Safety Circuits play an important role in industrial automation. Their main purpose is to protect the user from any physical harm. However, they keep the equipment from getting damaged as well. Over the years, safety circuits as well as standards evolved became more stringent and continue to push manufacturing to the state of zero injuries.
Allen Bradley's safety relays have been an industry standard for decades. A wide range of solid-state, as well as relay based safety circuits, have been designed and sold by the company. Furthermore, safety programmable logic controllers have also been introduced to the market and are widely used in the industry. Although they are reliable, they require a lot more caution as a software mistake may cause a fatal injury. They're often used in complex applications in which distributed safety is required.
In this tutorial, we will take a look at the GuardMaster Dual Input safety relay paired with a SensaGuard safety sensor, understand the application it may be used in, the wiring scheme of both devices, and how they interact between each other.

Thanks! I had dealings with these at a plant I worked at and had never had saw one before. Had me chasing my tail for awhile. Sure wish I had this information then. Thanks again!
These are quite complicated once more than one of these are involved. That being said, if you work through it step by step, it's not unsolvable.
Very helpful video. Thank you.
Thanks! Great video. Essentially!
You're welcome Saban!
Very good.muito bom, i'm from Brazil
Please do video on the old relay
Thanks 👍
apprentice here, firstly thanks for a fantastic video! do you have any idea how this exact circuit would be done using a 3 wire sensor? just brown blue and black being your +VE, -VE and signal wire.
Is 24 the output that would go to a conveyor or an actuator
Hello sir,
This video must be very helpful for beginner, i have a concern about the input signals S12 and S22, in the instruction manual of the device they are always connecting the terminal S11 -> ESTOP/Light curtain -->S12, and S21 -> ESTOP/Light curtain ->S22. But i see here you have skipped the S11 and S21, so i would like to know in this case how about the signal from device (sensor) to the terminal S12 and S22 i mean the voltage (OVDC or 24VDC)?
Is there any tutorial explaining the TLS-GD2? specifically the TLS-3 GD2
Hi how are you? I need your help, I have a problem with the RSLogix 500 software. When I try to open the app this give me an error that says:
Fatal error!
The copy protection license for the application could not be acquired. Error: 2.
Have you any idea of this error? Can you give a solution because I need to use the software?
Thanks !!
Either you buy the license or if its kinda urgent and you need to use the software then change the date and year of your PC to 2-3 year back. don't update the time or use internet. the software shall work fine.
What's the difference between TLS1-GD2 and TLS2-GD2??
TLS1 is “power to release” and TLS2 is “power to lock”.
@@_DigitalCam thank you!!!
