The great Mehdi Hassan Saab was the synonym of soft, soothing, and soulful music! Professionalism, Perfection, and Sophistication in performance was the hallmark of the great Khan Saab ! His style of gayiki was pretty simple, soft, effortless, soothing, and soulful but overbearing and difficult to emulate ! Agonies and ecstasies of life got fully reflected in his renditions ! What's so special with the great Mehdi Hassan Saab was the fact that he could render the tragic and romantic nuances of the Urdu couplets with equal proficiency and consummate ease ! Perhaps, that might have been the reason - as to how the great Khan Saab could unleash such path - breaking masterpieces at regular intervals ! A singer of the caliber and brilliance of the great Khan Saab is born only once in a millennium !

It was as if, the 'ROOH' (SPIRIT) of ghazal gayiki had gone, along with his sad demise ! Sirji, we are missing you badly !
