Yessss we loved this video!! We love tacos 🌮 sonara prime grill in puerto vallarta is one of our favourite restaurants...its soooo expensive but soooo good! When we visited guadalajara we went to Bruna for a special occasion and I loved it there....I had this beyond amazing short rib dish and I've been dreaming about it ever since 🤣🤣 but you can't beat Al pastor tacos from cheaper places. In PV pepes has the best ones 😋

There are some differences between places here, within a few blocks of my house there are several stands, but I have a fave. Next door to that is my carnitas place, so I really don’t need to leave the hood to be in 🌮 heaven!! Thanks Maddie, you are gold!!
I really love these types of videos, Maddie! It's fun when you travel to new places, too, but as somebody who would really like to retire to mexico, I love seeing you just bopping around and showing us local places and not just things a tourist would want to see. I love the cheap tacos but can see bringing somebody to the other place for a special occasion.
Maddie I totally get what you said, you want tour tacos to be tacos 😂 it's true, that's why I never go to fancy places to order tacos, not that they're always bad, bit I'd rather have the real deal at taquerias that specialize in real tacos for the local people. It was difficult for me to find good tacos in Guadalajara. In Mexico City, there is a taco vendor on just about every corner but in Guadalajara you have to specifically search for taco places. A few local folks told me that tortas are the more popular street food in Jalisco.
Just went there this past December and found some taco gems that never even heard of before in CDMX. I`m from Tijuana but got to admit there`s some heavy competition between the two.

Congrats! This video is one of my favorites so far! Sonora Grill definitely gets the big thumbs up for stepping up and taking care of your bill! Personally I prefer the cheap tacos, but for a special occasion something more expensive might be an option. Maybe in a few months you can do a 'all the types of tacos' video like Taco Chronicles (netflix)! Now *that* would be fun for you to shoot! Hey ... when you get to México City you should get together with the 5 Méxican Guys (CZcams deletes my posts with links, so search for them). This episode was well worth waiting for! Loved your comparison between the two types of cheaper tacos versus the two high-end restaurants. I'm familiar with the steamed tacos as Tacos de Canasta, or basket tacos - you see people selling on the street in baskets lined with blue plastic and covered with towels. (I like the papas ones.) Sonora grill, despite their errors with the onions, looks like a great munch for a slightly elevated price, someplace I'd definitely go on a date. Thank you for this awesome taco tour!

MY God, all of that looks so good! The bone marrow was a bit more expensive (for sure). Myself, I'd stick with the cheaper varieties. I've never met a Taco I didn't enjoy (except for the sesos). :)

Love the different options but when I can go to a local place vs. high end, I will always go local. The cooks put effort and flavor into the food. High end places concentrate too much on the presentation and look, not necessarily the taste or enjoyment. (All those fatty pieces they served you). Thanks for continuing to share your adventures in Mexico.
Yes even a cheaper place that is still very edible means you can enjoy even more often. An expensive place needs to be perfect to be worth dining there.

I’ve eaten at the taco place in Chapalita! My hubby grew up in that neighborhood and we have visited Guad 5x together and always go there. Their tacos are bomb! Do they still have the Nieves de Garrafa next door? it’s been a few years since we have visited. ❤️ great video 👌🏼
Outstanding video, I really LOVED the compare and contrast. As I can see, if I lived there, I would be more inclined to select the cheaper tacos. But in reality I would be a tourist, so it is really cool to see the high-end places one might not know about. I have never seen Bone Marrow tacos, they looked so good. And the experience seemed worth the price. I hope you do more of these and experience more gourmet restaurants. Next time I will eat my cheap pre-made lunch while watching your video. I think it will make it taste better and feel like I am there sharing the experience. lol.

Ok Maddie, 10 out of 10 for this video! Food and shopping and exploring the city are always my faves. You did such a thorough job of showing us each location and it’s corresponding tacos…I loved it. I have to say, I prefer low end tacos 80% of the time because they’re usually quick, unpretentious and delicious. I enjoy high end dining 20% of the time just for the ambiance and the fancy cocktails. I rarely order tacos at nice restaurants, instead opting for something more unusual. I do hold the expensive places to a much higher standard because if I’m paying top dollar for the experience I expect it to be near perfect. Definitely would choose Sonora grill for the high and the grilled taco place for the lower end. I would’ve been VERY unhappy with the last place…fun bubble or not, haha! Keep up the excellent work. You’re killing it!!
I really loved this video Maddie. To answer your question- I think the type of taco 🌮 place you go to would depend on the occasion. Cheap tacos are great for a quick lunch, but for a night out, the upscale taco & cocktail places are great. Side note- I have a friend who is currently on the Amalfi Coast in Italy and it looks breathtaking. You should go and have your Negroni there!

Great video, Maddie!! Yeah, the fat on that meat was extreme!! A turn off for me, but I'm not a big beef eater. However, the ambience of the beautiful garden would definitely make me try to find a dish there that I loved so that I could keep going back. Nothing trumps food for me. 😁 But Beauty is a factor too. A place to treat yourself. Maybe a date venue, or just drinks, or maybe a dessert only con cafe con leche place, if nothing else. Loved the content. The varied pricing. Very cool!!
I’ve never seen anyone eat tacos al vapor with their hands. Only with a cuchara and a mountain of pickled cabbage on top! Deshebrada is definitely my first choice when it comes to tacos al vapor. I would love to try the bone marrow tacos with a Negroni. Those look amazing! Thanks for sharing!
Hey Maddie! I live pretty close to the los Alteños you tried and I think your observations are on point! Im glad you enjoyed them, tacos in Mexico are supposed to be low cost flavour gems that you can consume on a regular basis, that is why those high end taco entries dont quite seem to fit well and are kinda inconsistent in presentation and over the top On a side note its too bad about your onion allergy cause its such an important part of the taco flavor and its everywhere in the mexican cuisine (you should be careful with the guacamole btw) Im sure its a pain in the ass to have to remove it from everything. Congrats! This video is one of my favorites so far! Sonora Grill definitely gets the big thumbs up for stepping up and taking care of your bill! Personally I prefer the cheap tacos, but for a special occasion something more expensive might be an option. Maybe in a few months you can do a 'all the types of tacos' video like Taco Chronicles (netflix)! Now *that* would be fun for you to shoot! Hey ... when you get to México City you should get together with the 5 Méxican Guys (CZcams deletes my posts with links, so search for them). They just started their channel up after a couple year hiatus, but they do some REALLY good street food videos!

This episode was well worth waiting for! Loved your comparison between the two types of cheaper tacos versus the two high-end restaurants. I'm familiar with the steamed tacos as Tacos de Canasta, or basket tacos - you see people selling on the street in baskets lined with blue plastic and covered with towels. (I like the papas ones.) Sonora grill, despite their errors with the onions, looks like a great munch for a slightly elevated price, someplace I'd definitely go on a date. Thank you for this awesome taco tour!

MY God, all of that looks so good! The bone marrow was a bit more expensive (for sure). Myself, I'd stick with the cheaper varieties. I've never met a Taco I didn't enjoy (except for the sesos). :)
I'm inclined to stick with the cheap eats myself too. But as a treat, those rib eye bone marrow tacos are 🤤🤤🤤 Also yeah, there's tuétano exotic and brains exotic...I can't bring myself to even try the latter 😅

Love the different options but when I can go to a local place vs. high end, I will always go local. The cooks put effort and flavor into the food. High end places concentrate too much on the presentation and look, not necessarily the taste or enjoyment. (All those fatty pieces they served you). Thanks for continuing to share your adventures in Mexico.
Yes even a cheaper place that is still very edible means you can enjoy even more often. An expensive place needs to be perfect to be worth dining there.

I’ve eaten at the taco place in Chapalita! My hubby grew up in that neighborhood and we have visited Guad 5x together and always go there. Their tacos are bomb! Do they still have the Nieves de Garrafa next door? it’s been a few years since we have visited. ❤️ great video 👌🏼

Outstanding video, I really LOVED the compare and contrast. As I can see, if I lived there, I would be more inclined to select the cheaper tacos. But in reality I would be a tourist, so it is really cool to see the high-end places one might not know about. I have never seen Bone Marrow tacos, they looked so good. And the experience seemed worth the price. I hope you do more of these and experience more gourmet restaurants. Next time I will eat my cheap pre-made lunch while watching your video. I think it will make it taste better and feel like I am there sharing the experience. lol.

My partner and I will be moving to Mexico in December and you've really helped us to see Mexico in a much more "real" light and it's really helped me (an American) to get rid of a lot of the misconceptions and stereotypes I used to have of Mexico and what it's like to live there. Ok Maddie, 10 out of 10 for this video! Food and shopping and exploring the city are always my faves. You did such a thorough job of showing us each location and it’s corresponding tacos…I loved it. I have to say, I prefer low end tacos 80% of the time because they’re usually quick, unpretentious and delicious. I enjoy high end dining 20% of the time just for the ambiance and the fancy cocktails. I rarely order tacos at nice restaurants, instead opting for something more unusual. I do hold the expensive places to a much higher standard because if I’m paying top dollar for the experience I expect it to be near perfect. Definitely would choose Sonora grill for the high and the grilled taco place for the lower end. I would’ve been VERY unhappy with the last place…fun bubble or not, haha! Keep up the excellent work. You’re killing it!!

I really loved this video Maddie. To answer your question- I think the type of taco 🌮 place you go to would depend on the occasion. Cheap tacos are great for a quick lunch, but for a night out, the upscale taco & cocktail places are great. Side note- I have a friend who is currently on the Amalfi Coast in Italy and it looks breathtaking. You should go and have your Negroni there!

Great video, Maddie!! Yeah, the fat on that meat was extreme!! A turn off for me, but I'm not a big beef eater. However, the ambience of the beautiful garden would definitely make me try to find a dish there that I loved so that I could keep going back. Nothing trumps food for me. 😁 But Beauty is a factor too. A place to treat yourself. Maybe a date venue, or just drinks, or maybe a dessert only con cafe con leche place, if nothing else. Loved the content. The varied pricing. Very cool!!

I’ve never seen anyone eat tacos al vapor with their hands. Only with a cuchara and a mountain of pickled cabbage on top! Deshebrada is definitely my first choice when it comes to tacos al vapor. I would love to try the bone marrow tacos with a Negroni. Those look amazing! Thanks for sharing!

Hey Maddie! I live pretty close to the los Alteños you tried and I think your observations are on point! Im glad you enjoyed them, tacos in Mexico are supposed to be low cost flavour gems that you can consume on a regular basis, that is why those high end taco entries dont quite seem to fit well and are kinda inconsistent in presentation and over the top
On a side note its too bad about your onion allergy cause its such an important part of the taco flavor and its everywhere in the mexican cuisine (you should be careful with the guacamole btw) Im sure its a pain in the ass to have to remove it from everything. Big hug to you from Guadalajara
