Sarde (noun), [Sa-r-de]: A colloquial term used in the Middle East to describe the act of letting go & kicking off a stream of consciousness and a rambling narrative.
The Sarde After Dinner Podcast is a free space based out of the heart of Beirut, Lebanon, where Médéa Azouri & Mouin Jaber discuss a wide range of topics (usually) held behind closed doors in an open and simple way with guests from all walks of life.

Again and again and again, the Armenians were not the only victims of the 1915-1918 Genocide committed by the Ottomans and kurds against the ethnicities that were living mostly in south east what is today Turkey in the region of Hakkari. The Assyrians الآشوريون lost over 750.000 victims as well as the Greeks, so to just mention the Armenians is a humiliation and killing over and over again of the Assyrian victims who did not get justice until today and the great grand children of the survivors of the Genocide are still suffering in north Iraq and north east Syria, wherebt they are being oppressed in order to leave their towns and lands just like in the north east of Syria (the Khaboor and Hasaka ) regions and in northern Iraq where lands are confiscated and the Assyrians do not have any recourse because the UN and international community have been and continue to ignore the Assyrian Cause

I'm Palestinian living in Israel (aka 48), and must say that from the perspective of someone who is LIVING the conflict to the fullest, and consuming both Israeli/hebrew media and Palestinian/arab media, this is BY FAR the best objective explanation and description that I've heard of the current and historical and political reality that we are living, DAILY!
@sardeafterdinner keep up producing this excellent content. And please bring a host to shed some light on my marginalized people, the Palestinians of 48. Most of the Arabs dont know that we even exist!!
Bashing Israel is more fun than giving a voice to "the Palestinians of 48". Sarde doesn't even care to react to your comment, they don't recognize your existence.
The only important thing for them is to whine endlessly about how "evil" Israel and the West are 🙄

شكرًا على هذه الحلقة الرائعة. لدي ملاحظة بخصوص "ممارسة الضحية (أي ضحية الهولوكوست) فعل من اقترف بحقها الإبادة"، وهنا ينبغي أن ننتبه إلى مسألة هامة، وهي الظن بأن دولة إسرائيل هي نِتاج الهولوكوست، وهذا غير دقيق، بل بدأ تأسيسها قبل الهولوكوست بعشرات السنين، كما أن معظم من هاجروا إليها قبل الهولوكوست وبعده، بقليل أو كثير، (الروس، الإثيوبيين وغيرهم) هم من "اليهود" الذين لا علاقة لهم بالهولوكوست. وبالتالي فإن الصهاينة الذين أسسوا إسرائيل ويحكمونها لا حق لهم أساسًا في تمثيل ضحايا المحرقة والتحدث باسمهم. Great episode! As always, Ziad Majed offers a high-quality analysis and intellectual clarity that is greatly needed in our world. One small comment: at 01:24:51 the word "تهجر" is mistranslated to "deported" -- It should be "forced out" or "ethnically cleansed".
Yes bombed out also. Even in the arab world the description what happen originally in 1948 isn’t explained correctly. But historically documents from zionist explain all they did. The masscres of Tantura, Deir Yasin, and many, many more.

Je tiens à exprimer ma profonde gratitude pour l'excellente analyse historique de Ziad Majed sur le conflit israélo-palestinien. La connaissance immense que possède Ziad Majed sur l'histoire de cette région est tout simplement stupéfiante. C'était véritablement une masterclass, riche en références historiques et en anecdotes captivantes. Il est regrettable que nous ne le voyions plus dans les émissions d'actualité du soir en France pour défendre ces faits historiques, au lieu d'écouter ces journalistes superficiels qui prétendent être experts dans des sujets qu'ils ne comprennent que superficiellement.
