Buttercup - what he's saying about being scared is exactly where I'm at. Running the rat race in a job I stopped caring about years ago, constantly worrying about not having enough to retire, weekends being too short to even catch my breath. Ironically, my mom brought me an extra tomato plant a few months ago, which launched me head first into gardening. It's made me completely reevaluate my life situation. Making plans to quit my job by year's end, simplify and downsize my life, and move towards greater self sufficiency. Also, this guy is doing something right... he looks at least 15-20 years younger than he is.
Buttercup 🐄
So much knowledge 🙌🏼👏🏽
Fear, and love for life led me in the same direction several years ago. There's up and downs in this journey as well but somewhere along the way you'll look back and be glad you made the decisions you are making. Bless you and best of luck 🙏🏼✨
🌎🌍🌏🕊️ For all of us 💞
They say if you love your job you will never work a day in your life, go live the dream don't be scared
🫶🏼
My wife and I sold the house and dropped out of the rat race. We travelled for nearly 2 years with our kids till we found where we want to be.
In some way, give yourself the time, space and permission to explore and reflect.
I have so far to go but as Jeff said, it is exciting
Wow Jeff doesn’t look like he is 70; he looks like he is in his 50’s. Permaculture agrees with him.
I did a PDC through Geoff when he came to South Africa. It changed my life. Through Geoff I have managed to install some school gardens. I’m currently busy with a zone 1 food garden at a childrens home. It looks amazing! He has changed my life and I will change others lives because of permaculture
Counldn't stop watching you 2 .🥰🥰
What can I say, 55 and still thinking of starting my permaculture course. How inspiring and calming this man is thank you for bringing him once again to our screens Weedy. My partner and I have just bought one of your wonderful art pieces and patiently await our chances on receiving Jeffs personal garden design. Our humble 900 square block has just started it's journey as we both indulge into the wonderful world of self efficiency up here in Brisbane. Compost has been started as we start to sow our Acacia and sit with a cup of coffee observing and putting pen to paper. How special it is to once again see those frosty mornings down on the Northern rivers. 🙏
Hey, I’m intrigued about the “sow our acacia” bit. Sounds like you’re growing a lot of them. What type of acacia is it? Are you growing them as pioneer plants for a food forest or a hedge/windbreak? Something else? I don’t know why, but I’m just really curious! Greetings from down here in Melbourne : )
@@s-c.. Acacia fasciculifera, Acacia fimbriata and Acacia leiocalyx. Yes they are for pioneer growth and to feed our fruit trees. Our block is very compacted and bare with little to no topsoil so by using the chop and drop method to establish some form of humus to protect the fruit trees we have invested into. We are hugely into recycling so the local council Curbside throwouts up here have provided us with many materials to build structures and containers to start work on our kitchen garden to bring some form of produce. We have it in mind to build a chicken pen and section off areas for free range to provide nutrients and weed control. Being that we are over 900 square Brisbane council allows 10 chickens which is ample to produce many anual cubes of compost. We also want to incorporate ducks and quail in time. I have a system of bathtubs that we will mount behind each citrus tree as we are on a slight elevation the excess worm juice will continually provide each tree with its nutrient needs. Any excess of food, worm compost and juice will hopefully be sold and used to buy any dietary needs of our animals. It is all a process and with a large help from mother nature and our local community we can see a future of less carbon impact and hopefully be able to educate and influence those nearby. P.S I so miss the eateries and coffee down in Melbourne ;)
@@cheezy1969 Thanks for such a great reply! I love the citrus bathtub idea. The possums degloved practically every lemon we had last season, hope you’re having better luck! It’s so much fun creating a new garden & you sound like you have the beginnings of something wonderful, especially with the SEQ climate! It’s a bit of a “world’s your oyster” time for you, so best of luck with the big competition!
Buttercup :) I'm 22 and just discovered this life path some months ago. Needless to say, I have been mega motivated to shift my life in this direction. Thank you for the video and the opportunity ;)
BUTTERCUP.
Love from BC Canada . Thank you Geoff and Weedy:)
Buttercup, thank you for sharing. I love what you two are doing you’re amazing. All of you even the furry purry kitty cat 🌻🥰🍀🙏👋😀
The cow's name is Buttercup.
I am from South Africa and it would be an honor and lifelong dream of mine to be able to do Geoff's PDC course.
Thanks so much for the entry opportunity and all the best to all the entrants.
Buttercup! Just turned 60 and still want to get my PDC!! I lived out near Thomas for many years and bought his calendars off him. Now I’m in the UK,. Thank you for your wonderful videos, just hearing the birds, frogs and insects and seeing the gorgeous gum trees makes me happy! Blessings
Plenty of time for that 😊
Buttercup ❤. I would be so honoured. I've been teaching self reliance classes for years. It spoilt be so good to be the student and especially Jeff's!
Buttercup! What a beauty! Thanks Geoff and Weedy
Buttercup is Geoff's cow's name. I completely understand what he said about being scared. I am gathering the courage to take that step. At 56, I'm keen as mustard to study permaculture, and pass knowledge onto my grandkids.
Buttercup!!!!! Everything Geoff says resonates ❤ I’ve the same sentiment. I need to stop living for the future and live for the now. My goal is to have my own land and grow my own food, be more sustainable.
Buttercup is the lovely cow. It. Is beautiful to see she is also feeding her calf. I feel quite emotional over that.
You care for her , she shares with you and cares for you ànd her calf.
Beautiful.
Buttercup!! Perfect name for a cow. My family had one just like her when I was growing up. I was lucky enough to live off grid for a while in the 70’s in southeast Queensland, but then I ran away to the big smoke as a teenager. Now I’m planning my escape back to the land in my early 50’s to follow my happiness!
I've been reading about permaculture since I was a teen .
I've finally got some land on the mid north coast of nsw and would love the opportunity to learn permaculture with Geoff Lawton . Buttercup 😊
Buttercup! What a great opportunity to win a PDC. Thank you Weedy and Geoff ♥️
Buttercup-Geoff is an awesome an inspiring teacher and with that pdc i could do that too for continue to spread his knowlege. Thank you and have a nice day.
buttercup ❤
this video brought tears to my eyes. Geoff is such a wonderful being.
Buttercup 🐮 what a cutie. I’m on 3 1/2 acres in Kandanga and I’m on my permaculture journey and would love to go into the draw ☺️ thanks for everything you do it’s greatly appreciated ❤
The cows name is buttercup. Ive been trying to steer our farm towards permaculture/regenerative practices but lack the knowledge so would love to win the design course to help plan for our families future here as we are on 64 acres in gorgeous Tasmania. Keep up the amazing work Geoff & Weedy.
Beautiful buttercup. What a fantastic experience. Hope we are the lucky spud 🥔
Buttercup - and what a beauty she is! Would love this opportunity to do the PDC, fingers crossed.
Buttercup!
How could Geoff stop teaching? It’s what he was put on this earth to do!
And as he said… Once you catch the “permaculture bug” there is no cure.
It’s terminal… but what a beautiful way to go!!
What an amazing story about the cat Salah with frost on his fur, doing his job.
I totally relate to the story of no longer living the boring life in fear. I resettled from the hugely overpopulated West Coast of the Netherlands to Eastern Germany, on my own, to teach English at high school in a village. I did it so that I could live in nature, with country fairs and baking sourdough bread by old tradition, picking wild apples from orchards several generations old and forgotten, listening to the crazy little song sequences the blackbird makes, that sound like versions of R2D2 at his best.
I am still scared.
But I can do it.
Next will be a small house with a garden, somewhere near here, where I can start raising plants. I already have thirty pots on my rooftop terrace. Things must start somewhere, and I'm so grateful for what I have so far.
Thanks for your wonderful videos and the healing sound of your voice which helps me thru a lot of rough patches. Thank you.
You are doing it. Fear NOT! Focus on the positives. Celebrate the wins. Grow some of your own food, eat it and keep taking good care of yourself 💞
🌎🌍🌏🕊️ For all of us 🙏🏼✨

Buttercup - lovely name for a beautiful cow. loved this interview. I am starting my permaculture journey and would love to learn the tools properly by doing a PDC. I am no longer scared but trying to live with authenticity building a greater future for myself, family and community. such a beautiful change.
Buttercup! Love hearing Geoff's perspective on life.
BUTTERCUP!! She's a princess! and I'd love a PDC course!
Buttercup! Just like the Princess Bride! ❤
Permaculture is life!!
Buttercup is her name! What a beautiful moment milking and resting your head against her. Thank you for your words Geoff and Weedy - to enjoy the journey, be brave and not be boring! We are in the process of moving toward our own permaculture farm, so thank you for the encouragement!
What an amazing opportunity to learn from you. We would love to live more like you and Buttercup and the other critters on your property
What a lovely video David. I purchased Bill Mollisons book and have read bits and pieces of it. My gardening journey started in 2020 when Covid arrived. Through watching your channel and a couple of other Australian ones have learned to make my journey better. To watch what the weedy garden started from to today is truly amazing. Currently studying Horticulture Cert 3 and the next plan is a permaculture course. I have a tip for you for a dog get a Dachshund or Jack Russell best mousers around and they would definitely keep Mr bush turkey on his or hers toes. But your location is known as turkey country. It was a pleasure to meet Buttercup, house cows have the best nature.
thanx for the tip 😊
Buttercup. Thank you for a beautiful visit with you, David & Geoff at his property. So tickled Geoff shared he is not ready to stop teaching! Happily studying / applying for many years & using my small property to share the joy & teach.
Geoff Lawton's permaculture course would make a world of difference in what we can share with the world. Greetings from Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA. Big Weedy fan! ❤
Absolute "ive made it in life" is to own a dairy gow cow! Nothing beats fresh raw milk 😍

The name of Geoff's cow is Buttercup. I will be qutting my daily job very soon as a process engineer in a semiconductor company. I'd like to have the PDC course and practice what I learn and contribute in making the Earth a better and safer place to live in.
Buttercup. Really hit home when Geoff was talking about working that 9-5 job for money and hoping one day to retire. Time to take action!
Buttercup. Really enjoying all your info on permaculture. Thank you for sharing
Buttercup- Hats off to all you have done and are doing.
Great Video, and happy to have seen Buttercup ;)
Thanks Weedy, thank you Geoff!! You guys free my sole every time I watch! Thanks to Bill for his amazing work!
Buttercup is her name.
Buttercup! - like myself and countless others, Geoff has realised that the secret to happiness is to surround yourself with whatever makes you feel good.
Additionally, if you can, cull all the things from your life that makes you unhappy or avoid as much as possible.
Cheers mate~
The name of the cow is Buttercup! What a sweety!
The name of the cow is Buttercup.Thank you very much for the chance❤😊

Buttercup ❤
Butter Cup is the name.
I just Iove the way Goeff milks buttercup it looks so professional and efficient.
The way he mentioned how he had fallen into the rabbit hole in a terminal velocity, that's how I feel whenever I watched Goeff's Discover permaculture videos and of course your weedygarden videos...
I guess I've watched almost all of them.
We are really fortunate to have two great souls living in a nearby vicinity of each other and to produce these wonderful and amazing contents ... Be it on CZcams or Instagram...
I am really grateful to both of you for the best gift you have to given to us as humanity.
The gift of rejuvenating the soil and bringing the soil back to life, coz at the end of the day, it's the soil that feeds us and store water for us and the plants.
Thank you very much. ❤
Buttercup - great video! Very inspiring. Geoff is a dynomo

You have taught us so much and our new food forest (42 trees and counting) is thriving thanks in part to what you have shared with us!
Thanks all the way from sunny Fl,
David
Buttercup! What a beautiful cow. You are both living the life I dream of having. Oh, to be self sufficient. I’m in my early 30’s. Imagine how many people I could help if I did the course. Chances are, I’ll save up to buy it if I don’t win… but, wouldn’t it be nice to have the privilege of winning a lifetime of knowledge from the best in the business. Good luck to everyone. ♥️

Buttecup wishes me to win and live my dream! When Geoff mentioned going day-in and day-out of the 9-5 work life that hit way too close to home, I need out so badly!
Thank you for sharing and giving this chance to learn and rediscover our roll in this planet!
Jeff's words really resonated with me, living in a scared state, being bored waiting for retirement to live a life of abundance. I hope whoever wins gets to make that important step in their life. Good luck entrants. Buttercup!
Buttercup.
