The movie is loosely based around highjack attempt on Korean Air F27, in 1971. Historically on 23 January 1971, a Fokker F27, registration number HL5212, departed Gangneung bound for Seoul. Enroute, a man entered the cockpit armed with hand grenades, and demanded the flight go to North Korea. I won't spoil both the film and historical event for first time viewers, but I encourage people to read up on the event afterwards.

You'd be surprised how often submissive people are during hijackings. One of the rare instance where passengers fight back was United 93 on 9/11 and that was after they heard from their families on phone about planes hitting the World Trade Center.

Did you see how every action can lead to the destruction of the plane in the trailer, even if you dare to fight the hijacker they'll be good as dead and destroy the plane cause they have tons of explosives. It's either we obey them or we all died.

it's so sad that the 1st officer died eventually amid to his emergency landing 😭😭 he's the true hero in this.
it's very interesting to watch how technology back then in the 70s works in aviation. the analog meter and most of all you can smoke in the cabin??
I'm sure all the restrictions nowadays are due to previous t*rr*rist events. the military air force tryna escorts & help the commercial airplane scene were exhilarating!! I love that part the most.
this propeller airplane is very small tbh and I can't imagine being there in such intense moment... crazy how the airplane still have enough fuel despite all the detour. and how the airplane itself can withstand so many damage 😮
