This season has come to an end, we found out that Sutekh was traveling with The Doctor for a while now and everywhere he landed, he would put Susane there to make sure that when the time comes, he would be able to kill everything and everyone.
We finally learned about Ruby's mom, and for me this was such a let down. I still don't understand why she could make it snow if her mom is just a regular person. they built the story so much about her, and the reasoning they gave for why she was so important fell flat to me.

Ruby's story totally isn't over. We still have the Mrs. Flood mystery and the snow (it was snowing at the end despite a June/July setting).
I really hope so. I would like to know how she made it snow if shes just a regular person. I feel like that part was missing from the finale 😕
Series 2 is already filmed, i believe they start filming season 3 in the new year.

You weren't the only one disappointed by this finale by a long way - but 2005+ is better (in general).
Some things to note -
- the coulourised clip of susan isn't of Susan Triad but Susan (foreman) the doctors grand daughter played by Carole Ann Ford and i believe taken from a coulorised re-edit of the second ever story from 1964.
- The film on the old tv screen that the Doctor and Ruby carried is indeed from the original Sutek who story - The Pyramids of Mars from the 4th Doctors run.
- The Tardis they escape in is a new thing called a 'Memory Tardis' with lots of classic bits and pieces in it
- Mel is a companion of the 6th & 7th doctors - and in the memory tardis she picks up the 6th doctor's jacket (i believe) and is resting on the 7th doctor's pullover...
Can't wait to see what you make of 2005+ - i'm confident you'll love it.....

I was dyssappoihted witn adprcts if rubys story. I love the idea that stew nornal, but it doesn't work for me in the cobtext of the series. However, we've been told its not the end of the story so it may well be that this is really a 2 season arc.
Yeah thats what i heard too and i hope its true because i agree. It did not fit for her to be a regular human.

I really liked what happened emotionally here, but I think they did a bad job explaining Ruby’s stuff. I think if there was an explanation for Ruby’s snow powers, they should have made that a big explanation.
I wish they would have explained it. Because it feels like it was put there to mislead us to something bigger when there wasnt.
Father Ted is a very funny show

@@AnotherReactionChannel_ I think it was times of importance to him and Ruby. Remember in 73 Yards near the end of the episode she said I used to be able to make it snow. Ruby’s alternative life wasn’t important to him, so he never reacted.
There are several elements of this episode I really enjoy, but the overall episode fell really flat for me. That being said on a rewatch I found it to be a better story, especially the reveal of Ruby's mum being someone "normal." RTD has some wild ideas sometimes but he's never strung us along this big before just to leave us hanging. Usually red herrings are small, and the pay off is big. 👽
I hope that theres more to who her mom is....or maybe her dad? Because there has to be a reason she can make it snow. 👽
@@AnotherReactionChannel_ it sounds like her story isn't over, so we shall see. Don't get me wrong, it's not like we've never had loose threads left hanging. 73 yards is a great example of that, but in that instance it's because the writer is leaving it up to us to fill in the gaps, it's on purpose and it works (some people don't like that, personally I do). That doesn't work for Ruby's story though. It's too big of a thread to leave hanging. 👽
@SeeJay81 i agree 73 yeard makes sense to leave open to your own interpretation but Ruby....there has to be more. Since they mentionned her dad st the very end im betting on him to elevate that storyline 😝

I absolutely totally agree with you on the finale it was a major big disappointment I think it's the worst finale since "Hellbent" in my opinion and I thought the whole thing with Ruby's mother the way it was resolved was kind of boring and very lazily written I'm actually kind of getting tired of companions with their personal family lives at this point I just want to see the Doctor and his companion on space adventures fighting monsters or Daleks or whatever and just have good stories the whole soap opera route RTD keeps doing is starting to get stale and tired.
I also didn't like Sutekh as a big CGI dog they could had just used an actor in his costume and mask and it still would had been just as effective and sinister I miss the days of tin foil robots and bubblewrap monsters I think they rely on CGI too much I think Disney and RTD as well I think completely misunderstand the show it's not about the special effects it's about characters and stories that's the real focus on the show.
As for Mrs. Flood i'll be so disappointed if she doesn't turn out to be another Time Lord.
Lazily written and didn't really make any sense. I enjoyed most of the new season (maybe not the booger monster they were sad about...), but that was super disappointing. Why did she make it snow? Why was her memory more powerful than anyone else's? If Sutekh was destroying everything across time and space, he would have had access to the info they used to find her mom. That should have existed already in the present anyway, given that she wasn't even remotely trying to hide, but Sutekh had access to Earth in the past, present, and future. Hell, he should have been able to just go look at her when Ruby was left at the church. Maybe it'll be redeemed and we'll find out her mystery dad somehow masked her, but I'm guessing this is where that story is going to be left with no explanation for any of the inconsistencies.
@davidbutler522 so dissapointing hut like you daid. Im betting on the dad to redeem this storyline. They mentionned him at the very end so im keeping my fingers crossed that we meet him and theres something special about him
Since doctor who is on disney it's not good anymore....
I have a feeling Disney influanced it a little bit. I dobt have a big referenf3 since i havent started NuWho yet but from the little bit i know i can tell.
This is the worst finale in the entire series.
I thought it was a mixed bag of a season series 14 certainly had better writing than chibnal era 😊
