For an AU it’s not a bad looking car. The turbo flutter sounded great. It also done pretty well in the 0-100km.
What a machine eh.. sounds like a VL 😅
To be honest Holden Vl and Ford Au would be by far the best looking in xr8 or xr6 trim

*2 people, full tank of fuel and does low 5s. With some better tyres and 1 person that's mid 4s. That's one of the nicest AU Falcons I've ever seen. So clean, sits perfectly, and that flutter sounds cool. Heath has great taste. Nice review Johnny. 💯%*

I'm probably like many, not being a fan of the AU.. but have slowly gained a liking to them....this is a very nice example and the barra looks like it was ment to be.. what a clean job looks stock 👌

True I used to despise them lol now I like em especially s2 and the xr n tickfords ,still hate the s1 au though 😂 and it's ugliness is why the vt was so popular.
On that I didn't like the ve Commodores either but now I do.

That gauge position is the slickest and cleanest position I’ve ever seen. Looks stock as if ford released a turbo intech in 1998 ❤️

only just finished putting a turbo barra in my au fairmont with a manual, can confirm that the flutter is 10x better in person videos dont do it justice 😂

I always said I will never own a ugly au,looks like a turtle on wheels lol,but I needed up buying a au Tickford with the ts 50 body kit,it looked great,the au is a underrated car,great platform to build up,it was just the forte modals that looked shit but drove very well
Haha a turtle on wheels - love it. Imagine buying 4 of them and painting them all green, with red, yellow, blue and purple tinted glass, and roofs.

I did the same swap into au station wagon and it was a great family car with the ford factory seven seat buckets in the rear

Never seen this car in the UK, can spot the Ford DNA though... Nice build, all looks matched and thought about as the performance and looks score well. The interior work looks to be planned and well executed. Gets a thumbs up from me.

That AU is " Built Not Bought ". The Original 4 Speed auto transmission how many kilowatts can it safely handle ?
I had 450kw through a stock au btr just turned the line pressure up and used to skate 1st to 3rd all day everyday

Thanks for making this video! Definitely a unique AU XR8 with the barra conversion! I see there would be some appeal and market for this car and well done for the owner on the time and effort that has gone into the build!
My personal preference would be to stick with the 5lt Windsor in the au, for me putting the barra motor in has lost its appeal and character! There are things like upgrading to BA/BF brakes and making slight performance modifications which make more sense to me but at the sametime I respect and appreciate this build!
It was a xr6 not a xr8 ? And I have upgraded to the bf premium brakes ?

However it's not making 1100nms ,that's tractive effort lol or his tuners telling him porkey pies
Realistically it'll be around 750nms ,my fg is at 358kw (480whp) 775nms in a manual ,no way a barra with less hp and auto is making 330nms more torque than I am.
Not dissing on the owner at all just educating, a lot of tuners faking torque readings to sell tunes, it's a dishonest and an abhorrent practice and it needs to stop.
Take it to reputable shop and run it up again, if in Sydney go to empire ,in Melbourne dynamite performance, maxx performance ,gm-f performance all of em do the tuning correctly and don't give u bs numbers.
There's a video floating around yt explaining how shops are faking torque and hp numbers 👍
It was tuned by a “ reputable “ shop by 2 of the places you listed and both shops gave same torque figures with in 50nm of each other and the last tune was at maxx performance 6 months ago and was tuned by dynamite performance before that 💁🏼♂️ and on a hub dyno at maxx as well ….

How did the owner get it to have the VL Dose?
Just a guess here. I suspect the 35 frame turbo with quick spool up helps a lot. And of course, the turbo inlet pipe.
