They are a bit of a pain, alot of people curse the stretch belt, but in actuality they are great because they don't require a tensioner. It's just some are really difficult to use the tye strap method Ford edge are brutal they run the power steering unit on edge to remove the power steering unit is a nightmare! I had to drill a hole through the fire wall to access one of the power steering bolts! But after drilling the hole it was a joke to change difference of night and day.
No diagram? Grooved pulleys are the bottom side of the belt, smooth pulleys contact the top (smooth part). I agree a diagram is always helpful but noting routing before removal or looking at the pulleys will get you on the right path
