    Kischardio approved! So glad to have purchased one a couple months ago. Got it on sale for 2k off BRAND NEW (50 miles odometer). I was told that the manufacturer marks down their 790 dukes for 2k off once or twice a year to clear out for the next wave of duke shipments. $8,499 msrp for a duke is a steal! Keep an eye out for those sales. As for the brakes, I swapped the master cylinder for a brembo 19rcs... really improved the braking performance without having to change the entire system. This bike is disgustingly easy to ride, and KTM does an amazing job at making the rider modes feel very distinguishable. Its a great commuting machine but the twisties are where it belongs. Loving these reviews bro. Keep it up!

    I think KTM nailed it. A very nice addition to the crowded naked middle class. I'd imagine the 890 being what the 790 should have been, though.
    A ton of bang for buck, for sure.

    Now I need you to ride a Street Triple because I need as much validation as I can get that I made the right decision in buying one over a 790.

    • @edmondthompson7525
      @edmondthompson7525 Před 3 lety

      @mirlin235 oh I'm absolutely in love with the Street Triple, I have an 18' RS so it's probably a little more competitive with the 890. I rode the 790 the a few days before I picked up the ST3 and I loved it and had a deal in place to buy it, but I had a buddy that was telling me that I had to ride a Street Triple before I did anything. I already had a 390 in the garage and I was sitting at work thinking "do I really need a bigger version of the bike I already have?" so I called my dealer and called off the deal and went to pick up a Ice Silver RS without ever having ridden one. I gotta say, its the best blind purchase I've ever made and I would totally do it again.
      The 765 has a ton of character. The way the power comes on at around 7k and kicks you in the ass is addicting, feels like you have a little turbo spooling and the sound is absolutely perfect. I threw an SC Project S1 on after about a week of owning it and just when I thought the experience couldn't get any better...it did. It's the perfect bike for me, especially in SoCal. I've put about 11,000 miles (canyon, track, commuting) on it in just over a year of owning it and it's been blissful. I think I always want to have a triple in the stable no matter what.

    • @freebehindbars8654
      @freebehindbars8654 Před 2 lety

      The 890 came to be bc the 790 missed the Street Triple mark. That Triumph is what every manufacturer aims at when making a middleweight naked. I traded my 2020 RS for a 2021 890R. Both fantastic bikes, but the power delivery of the KTM comes on early and pulls noticeably harder coming out of turns. It’s 6-8 lbs lighter than the Triumph, but feels substantially lighter than that.

    I own a MT-09 SP is it worth it to sell it to buy the *890 Duke? I like wheelies and traveling/commuting, i attack corners from time to time, but its not a priority.

    • @Kischardio
      @Kischardio  Před 3 lety +2

      Hmmm the 790 might be right up your alley. The 890 too, but a bit more aggressive. I haven’t ridden the SP Mt09 so I’m not sure how good that is, but the lightness of the KTM is far and away different from the MT09. The KTM definitely doesn’t have as much power feel though
