  • When I hear Fergus on the accordion, I place him playing in London in the sixties to thousands in a packed hall.
He has a natural strength which comes across in his effervescent personality and conducts to his accordion playing.

As a London player from the seventies (Le Cheile) you have that observation spot on. Direct, lively, melodic, big heart. I loved this guy's playing from the moment I heard him. Fergus would have fitted right in with Raymond Roland, Liam Farrell, John Bowe, Roger Sherlock, Finbarr Dwyer and the many other great players we were privileged to get to hear at the time. Hard to understand how he keeps coming second in competitions. There must be fierce talent out there.

There is. There is a renaissance of Irish music going on, around London and around home. Great players doing the rounds.

Richard Dwyer's Jig I think? Theres a recording from 2014 with a similar sounding tune, it's not a common tune for sure.
