As an artist myself I can 100% confirm what Calli said. People think rap is just a bunch of words that rhyme but thats just literally the bare bones of it.
It needs a story too!
It needs to make you convey emotion, whether its motivation, sadness, energy, anything of the sort.
No matter the music genre you're practicing, it takes talent to write songs, that's for sure.

It's true. It is hard to rap in English. That's why Tagalog is so much better when it comes to rapping because every word we say is already rhymes sometimes.
Tagalog is like a perfect language for rapping due to its countless words and wording patterns and sentences and bouncy rhythm of sounds.
That applies to every language though. If ur native language is English then it is way better to rap in English since u know the words and rhymes and stuffs.
Can you elaborate some simple bars? Im trying learn more languages within this community and now that you intrigue me with tagalog rap im super interested.
@@kenshinPH You underestimate Tagalog that's why you could say it like that. If you know the language itself and how bouncy the sounds and experience Filipino Rap in general, you will see how it is much different from the rest of the world.

There are 3 types of rapping style in Tagalog.
Hugot. Tula. Bara.
Hugot doesn't have an English word for it. But if i have to define it. It is a term used for things that either sounds that rhymes but at the same time have bars and melodic bouncy rhythmic patterns on how they put sentences. And the word hugot is roughly translated to pull something out. Since the Tagalog word of hugot is pulling in or out of something depending on the context.
Tula is poetic and romantic soundly with a full of slippery smooth tangents of sounds with a overflow types of glottal stops in each words you proceed when you speak in the Tagalog language. Specially Filipino language. It rhymes in a way that even every sentences can be put into a rhyme and you can put each sentences in an S V O or V S O or O V S or S O V patterns that it will still make sense in Tagalog.
Barra. Also know as spitting bars.
This one is almost the same when you are actually going fast rapping. But there is a difference. When you are fast rapping in Tagalog they create bouncy sounds with cadence and melodies. So even if you are rapping, you can still hear someone rapping plus singing at the same time while still holding the tune while still rhyming it. And mind you when you rap in Tagalog even when you rap fast. People will still be able to hear the words clearly. Unlike English rap. If you have to react to a rap music you gotta pause to get the whole meaning and the picture of the rap. But in Tagalog rap. It's different. You don't need to pause because every word is so clear that everyone who speaks the language will actually able to get the full picture or the whole meaning of the bar.
And Tagalog has 3 or 4 or 2 meanings in each word whenever you are speaking the language as well.

She does, but like how a lot of complicated words are used in English rap, the same goes to japanese rap. Not to mention you need to make it rhyme and layers of meaning in every bar for it to be good. I mean, look at watame rap it's very good. So yeah, unless calli reach fluent, like almost native level fluency, she can't write japanese rap on her own atm.
Is it difficult to rap in Japanese? Doesn't everything just about rhyme with everything else? My understanding is that rhyming isn't really a technique used in Japanese poetry since it doesn't take much craft to come up with rhymes, hence the haiku's popularity.
Anyway, mentioning Haiku inspired me:
