I really like the Bee Queen fight. Maxwell splitting his mind, utilizing his powers to take on the boss while going insane and fighting his own nightmares. Shows you precisely how power comes at a great price
changed my opinion on the maxwell rework. he pretty much mimics wolfgang's dps in solo, has nice gathering abilities on top of that and it's extremely cheap to fight raid bosses. I mean you don't even need pan flutes to kill stuff as max, combine him with wanda/wolfgang and it will be criminally over powered. Wanda can just farm his nightmares and safely attack stuff from shadow prisons to deal bonus damage and wolfgang just divides boss HP by 2, so you pretty much need to take out only 5k with the maxwell combo. both of them especially wanda can help to kill fuelweaver for more power. Great video!
Maxwell destroys most bosses... even afk-ing at some, yet the forums are still on fire with hatred for the rework lol You should try out Maxwell on a Beefalo, it gets rid of his low hp downside and lets you tank hits while summoning rather safely once the Beefalo is tamed enough to not knock you out every 20 seconds or so. You showed his potential with just Tier 2 equipment, so the damage potential is even higher than this after you beat Fuelweaver.

Or: if new Maxwell isn't better than Wurts merms in fighting and gathering, then whats the point??!?!?! What they don't realize is that Maxwell is the best of both worlds, he brings both the damage and gathering skills. His only real weakness being 75 hp, I hate how low is health is so I tame a beefalo
@@Arcwell_ try that with spiced volt goat jelly, with wickerbottoms bees, with teir 3 equipment and a thurible. this should be maxwell pushed to his logical extreme.
very awesome video, for toadstool, if you ever fight him again as maxwell, you can trap him while he is trying to walk back into his arena range and he wont do anything if you keep him caged
How does Maxwell's dps in your tests compare to Wilson's, Wigfrid's and Wolfgang's if one takes into account all the summoning animations? As for Toadstool fight, did you try misery version? What about shadow pieces? Also I think fight with Twins may be shorter if one trapped suspicious peepers along with eyes themselves, maybe it even would be preferable to kill Retinazor first.

I have not tried Misery Toad, though it should be the same fight just with more resources. Shadow Pieces aren't affected by shadow prison, so Maxwell doesn't do much in that fight. For Twins, you're probably right, I never tried. I would imagine it would be hard to line all the peepers up, but probably doable. And yes, Retinazor is definitely the optimal 1st target, I just let the duelists attack whoever's closer at the start to save on casting time for the initial 6 duelists.
@@Arcwell_ I know that prison doesn't affect shadow pieces, but shadow duelists could still do great job to be decoy for t3 bishop or t3 rook (in theory), or maybe do well against shadow knight because even t3 version has no AoE and damage for duelists is capped. I wonder how well one can do in shadow pieces fight as Maxwell without (enough) speed boosts.
@@alinashirokaya3954 The issue is: without shadow prison, there's no safe time to cast duelists during 3rd phase. And both T3 rook and T3 bishop will kill 6 duelists more than once, meaning you'd need to resummon. In my testing, duelists shredded phase 1, were useful half of the time against phase 2 (depending on who they target), and were obsolete by phase 3.
The downside is a lot more apparent in the Bee Queen fight with all the nightmare creatures that spawn. It might look like a small downside with the right execution, but most of these fights took multiple attempts :)
By luring, toadstool will spend more time trying to walk back to the center (which it can't do well because the pond is blocking him), giving you more time to deal damage instead of chopping trees. The fight is doable without luring behind a pond, but it takes more time and resources.
I cant seem to beat crab king. something about the boat positioning is screwing the fight up. despite facing either NE or SW and starting with the point where you can barely place gems in and then rowing back 3 times, i still get 3 claws on my boat.
I had the same problem: it's not that you need to be NE or SW from Crab King, but that the compass needs to be pointing NE and SW. Easiest way to do this is to press E once from the default orientation (starts this way whenever you enter a world), then place the boat in front of Crab King.

So he has 2 completely broken abilities that can be spammed indefinitely since the downsides are almost non-existent.
