hondata is awesome, ive been tuning with it for years now; the iat being displayed in red is arbitrary, you can right click on that and hit properties and change what temp it turns red. cold iats are good, be worried if it goes 120+ lol
hard to tell, your afr was a bit lean, in the 14s when it should be in the 13s, also your map(manifold air psi) was reading low, almost as if you were half throttle during that pull to 7k, your map was reading between -10 to -5 vacuum that pull when it should be very close to 0.0 when you go wot
Congrats on your channel success lately dude, you've really been gaining a lot of viewers lately! Just a couple friendly tips from a guy whose been in the 8thgen game for 7+ years: 1- Do not change the vtec crossover point for any calibration you run, this is only to be changed by your tuner. The cam angles, fuel, ignition timing, etc are mapped specifically for high and low cam for that particular vtec crossover. 2- Your launch control can be adjusted with your steering wheel controls now, setting it in FP manager is irrelevant. 3- Get a custom tune ASAP. Hondata basemaps are horrible, they may improve throttle response and it may "feel" like the car is running smoother however you seriously need to monitor those AFR's. From this video from when your buddy was showing the screen on your laptop, it looked like you were running 14.4-14.7 AFR when doing a pull, this is extremely lean and will burn shit out in the matter of time. it may "feel" like its running fine, however you cant "feel" what the engine is going through inside. Best of luck man, lmk if you want to meet up sometime and do a vid. I live down in the 845 now.
Thanks bro! I've been working pretty hard this last week with content. I changed my current basemap from MAF to Map. The MAF was running like crap. Using the skunk2 race calibration & man, it's amazing 💪🏼. 845? That NY?
Nice car man used to have one until I flipped it was thinking about getting another as my project..i had injen intake vibrant headers no cat skunk2 exhaust and a custom tune on flashpro and it was the best thing ever lol... you'll be so so happy with a tune
Your air intake temp is in the red because under the sensors window. If you double click on it. The low minimum is set to a certain temperature. It’s just cold here on the east coast right now. I would put the minimum to 0° . But leave the maximum where it is
Gerb Productions bro I was just about to get started on my Invidia set up (Invidia race header and full cat back q300) but I think Imma hold up and see how much you like the skunk2 setup. That thing is mean tho bro✊ but after that must come the Hondata...it is lyfe!!💪 can't wait for the new vids my guy. #HPgains
Get the skunk2 alpha, heard it gives better gains. Q300 sounds so good though 👌🏼. I appreciate it man! Midnight has come along way & is still improving. More vids coming soon
Nice bro, I went with the Ktuner instead, it runs pretty good for my 9th gen. I got a silicone intake pipe with a high flow cat back downpipe, still working on getting a decent exhaust.
damn your VTEC hits at 4350!!!! I love it! For fuel economy purposes I just set mine at about 5100... weird I know but im basically all stock...flashpro first everything else later!~!!
Perfect combustion happens at around 14.7 parts air to fuel for petrol. This is what we 'cruise' at on the highway at light load. When you step on the gas, and start accelerating, the air fuel ratio should richen into what is called the 'power enriched' state. This 'rich' state, usually around 13:1 for n/a cars at wide open throttle, and 11 - 12:1 for boosted cars, provides too much fuel to fully burn, so there is a portion of fuel left over to absorb heat in the cylinder. Without this extra fuel, the engine would be damaged from running leaner than safe in short order, especially with boost (a matter of seconds). When you run lean, two things can happen. Either the heat damages the components (you will see pistons that are torn up on the sides and damaged sleeves) or the fuel will detonate (knock), which basically means the fuel could not combust evenly and correctly to push the piston down and just explodes in the cylinder all at once. Also try autotune it is safer. Or run hondata "LOG"for about 15-20 min doing pulls and regular driving then autotune by selecting category you want tune like low fuel high highfuel, knock, ign etc. Also you can also add fuel by looking at map and your tune after load up. Time to start doing whole lot of reading.
DT Alpha.Wolf so so glad to see folks in here that know what they're talking about and not just running off at the mouth... too many vids out there with incorrect comments.... very nice bumping into smart folks from time to time
Also I want you to look at your low Cam and high cam profiles in your tuned. Look at the graph and those profiles make sure they're smooth and not bumpy. You want a smooth transition between angles of high and low cam. This helps you adjust for better fuel mixture. Whereas That Tune has all kinds of different angles minimize them lock them in so your feel is more consistent throughout the RPMs. For instance 800 RPM to 1500 low cam angle can be placed at 8. And then 1600 RPM 2500 rpm for instance 12. Just make sure when you hit VTEC that came in going high is at the right angle which you should see in that profile that you selected which is I think 45 degrees for high. But like I said this helps with your better fuel mixture and more consistency. Do auto-tune after for ignition and fuel. Then log then look at low and high fuel again after log and add if you have to buy percentages of 5% or negative
I know that the idle/light throttle AFR should be at 14.7. Changed my previous basemap to a skunk2 Map basemap, world of difference! And my AFR is like 12.5-13 WOT. Better to be rich than lean
Great vid bro. Advice for ya, I would set your Vtec to 5krpm or 5200k around there. Since the TQ on these are not crazy I would set it to 5k for a smoother top end. Once you get a tune you will see them connect the intake and the crossover will be there but not as loud. You will still here but the tune will connect the low and high and smoother power band
Nononono... Dont spread bad info on here. you should never change your vtec engagement from the preset on basemaps unless you know how to monitior & and tune every other aspect of the car (VTC angles, ignition, fuel, etc..)
NAUS I have the same exact car as gerb. I have been toying with the idea of getting hondata. Is it safe to say it's not worth it unless you get it tuned pretty much immediately?
To each it’s own. I think we all have our own preferences but if you want to keep the head safe and a smooth powerband, NAUS is right. Unless the tuner sets it there or provides feedback on why he put it low, I would leave it at preset. I had a 9th tunes by Evans Tuning and he put my VTEC at 5200. Because of the the k24 block on WOT he set it at 4500 but combined the low and high to make it safe and smooth
NAUS is definitely a good person to go to or Vit. NAUS has had a 8th for a while and tracks it. I been following him for a while. He can give you good insight or vit which is also solid
Gerb Productions Well, My check engine light is on and the VSA light came on not too long ago and ever since my damn vtec hasn't been engaging. What's crazy though is when I pull the battery cables off and let the ecu reset itself, The vtec will work again until the check engine light comes back on.
The recall won't fix your light, probably a sensor. But I know when I brought my car in, they advised they will not fix anything related to your SRS light showing. The recall is for the defective passenger airbag inflator, and is defective with no light showing.
Nice man I’ve been watching your videos for a few months know, I’m from CT ass well lord how to comment on video just today, but see you upgrading your SI every day got the flash pro witch is very important hopefully one day we can meet and talk about cars.
This is honestly a crap basemap bro... Switched it up, car pulls way harder now. Either flywheel or slave cylinder maybe. It's drives way better now. Thanks man, a lot more to come 📹
I changed to a basemap where the vtec come set at 4250 & 5900... but you're right, don't mess with that, I learned about that when I had a cylinder #2 misfire
Who are you going to have tune the car? Vit Viper? #VitTuned That's who tuned my car! He is an Etuner! Which means you can send him logs and then he will send you back a calibration to do a datalog and fine tune the car! A lot of people are tuned by him! Highly recommend Vit Tune the car you will love the numbers you make and it will be conservative!
Gerb Productions You can turbocharge Hondas pretty easily with junkyard Volvo or Saab turbochargers which tend to be perfect size for Honda but too small for Volvo and Saab. and an eBay manifold.
Gerb Productions depends how I drive mine come around 2-3k normal driving ripping and wot I maybe get 1 or no my 3cyl gets like 80 or less not good still having a friend mess with my tune
Im sure you have already seen all of the comments about your wot afr's. Bro 14s wot no bueno. That should be at cruisin speeds partial throttle. You must be getting a shit ton of knock to. I would try a few other maps and datalog until you find something safer or return back to stock for the time being till you get a custom tune.
Gerb Productions I think that is the map a ran before i got a tune afr's were pretty good but i think i had a bit of knock. But youll figure it all out as you go.
I-vtec has two stages of vtec engagement. on my car at w.o.t. vtec engages at 4200 rpm and at partial throttle vtec engages at 5500 rpm. but yeah, lower rpm for more of the secondary cam power.
It’s currently off lol. It comes on when it feels like it though. I need to bring mine in for the Takata air bad recall. I’d say we’re cursed though lol
There is that pin method that will take away the light but it's like god dam what happened at Honda with these air bag sensors was someone on LSD or something lol. Also you're so lucky you get to tune your car everything in CA is illegal, I would love to use Hondata Kpro stage 3 cams etc but it would fail Smog in a heartbeat ;T
14.xx AFR is way too lean man.. put it back to stock until you can afford a proper tune before you ruin your engine.. You should be no higher than 13.2.. I'd be keeping an eye on the knock sensor too...
MultiChimRichalds think of the temperatures he's running into gentleman there's snow on the ground it's probably 32 or below... AFR is going to fluctuate until the intake air stream is consistent
Still Available maybe I wasn't clear enough, I was referring to wide open throttle not post throttle cruising.. ideal afr for a k20 at wot is around 13-13.5 (max)
Gerb Productions whatever dude. I actually like Honda's as well but sorry that car looks almost identical to the Kia Cerato Koup 😂 And in my book anything that resembles a Kia or Hyundai is a major fail lol
You can really notice how hard it pulls now with flash pro such a huge difference that’s awesome man!
Definitely a difference bro...Now I'm running skunk2 map race calibration, pulls a lot better
Haven't clicked on a video so fast in a long time! 👌
hondata is awesome, ive been tuning with it for years now;
the iat being displayed in red is arbitrary, you can right click on that and hit properties and change what temp it turns red. cold iats are good, be worried if it goes 120+ lol
Thanks for the advice! Think I'm running alright?
hard to tell, your afr was a bit lean, in the 14s when it should be in the 13s, also your map(manifold air psi) was reading low, almost as if you were half throttle during that pull to 7k, your map was reading between -10 to -5 vacuum that pull when it should be very close to 0.0 when you go wot

A question for you, whats the ball park number you would want af/r during WOT?
That collab would be sick from two of my favorite 8th gen youtubers!
google man... but you want 14.7 till about - 10 vacuum, - 10 vac to 0.0 you want 13-13.5, 0.0 to what ever boost psi you want low 11s
Thanks bro! I've been working pretty hard this last week with content. I changed my current basemap from MAF to Map. The MAF was running like crap. Using the skunk2 race calibration & man, it's amazing 💪🏼. 845? That NY?

Good shit i bet project midnight drives like a whole different car now
Had to switch basemaps, but she does now, especially on a race calibration 💪🏼
Sounds awesome man!
Thanks bro
yo this is so siiiiiick
Thanks man, appreciate it
ooooohweeeeeeee!! Love that exhaust tone!
Been slacking on watching your videos but good job on everything looking forward to seeing you again at hday in the spring
See you in the spring bro❗️

I love it to
Great work bro! Hondata wakes up the k20 lol
Shes lit bro! Cant wait to see whats next!
Upgraded rotors, suspension, etc 👌🏼
Gerb Productions im thinking of getting a flashpro for my 2012 FB6.
You should
Your air intake temp is in the red because under the sensors window. If you double click on it. The low minimum is set to a certain temperature. It’s just cold here on the east coast right now. I would put the minimum to 0° . But leave the maximum where it is
About time 😉 haha glad you got it man, can tell your enjoying it. Great video 👍
Ik bro, been awhile. Thanks bro, more to come
Nice man I recently got my hondata for my fg4 love the content
I'd like to add an fg4 to the collection. More on the way for you 🔧📹
Wow youre just as fast as my 2004 V6 accord.
You think so ?
Probably faster I could beat Sti's when I got my custom tune
Finally, congrats bro!
Thanks bro... definitely a good feel
Midnight pulling up pavement bro!!! Yo, Hondata ftw💪 the inspiration is real bro✊
Haha, trying with what I have lol. Uploaded a map basemap, skunk2... pulls way harder 💪🏼
Gerb Productions bro I was just about to get started on my Invidia set up (Invidia race header and full cat back q300) but I think Imma hold up and see how much you like the skunk2 setup. That's my favorite gen si
Mine to 👌🏼
same ☝🏼
Who doesn't like an 8th gen si ? They're so fun to drive
Nice bro, I went with the Ktuner instead, it runs pretty good for my 9th gen. I got a silicone intake pipe with a high flow cat back downpipe, still working on getting a decent exhaust.
She's going to rip with the right exhaust
felt v-tech from here :0
I like that flash pro u got in there its pritty cool
It's one amazing device!

Midnight sounds great man , much better........I knew you’d be nothing but a row of teeth lol
I have a problem with my Honda si radiator water is returned to the tank and I changed the water pump and thermostat and what is the problem?
Sounds like an 86 when the vtec kicks in yo
lol your airbag light is on, must have your seat out like me. I need to upgrade my seat it is around 600 with the bracket oem fit
Yeah, it's bipolar. On one day, off the next lol
Gerb Productions I am going to take a suoer perm black sharpie and colour over the airbag light.

MikeMcflyy your right, in N/A cars its better to leave the vtec at 5500. But my vtec was set at 3500rpm by the tuner

Uploaded a new basemap 💪🏼
just use your stock intake, stock ones have a cold air feed, having a K&N intake is just letting hot air from your engine bay straight into the filter
I thought about going back to stock 🤔
Well i clicked as fast as that VTEC kicked in!
Idk which one is faster, your click or the vtec lol ;)
Gerb Productions hmmm i think the kinda both
Your iat’s are so low because its so cold where you are at lol, nothing to worry about
My lawnmowers Vtech sounds just like that.
Have my like buddy !!
Means a lot bro 🙏🏻
Damn man, She sounds sick! Hate that my Vtec isn't working right now in my 8th gen. :(
Solenoid/spool valve issue? What's going on with your 8th man?
Gerb Productions Well, My check engine light is on and the VSA light came on not too long ago and ever since my damn vtec hasn't been engaging. What's crazy though is when I pull the battery cables off and let the ecu reset itself, The vtec will work again until the check engine light comes back on.
What the hell? I don't think I've ever heard of an issue like that. I wonder what it could be?
Good vid! Why is your airbag light on? I have the same light on
It's always been on when I bought the car... Time to bring it into the dealer for a recall
The recall won't fix your light, probably a sensor. But I know when I brought my car in, they advised they will not fix anything related to your SRS light showing. The recall is for the defective passenger airbag inflator, and is defective with no light showing.
So the sound of Vtec is when your car's revs reach a certain point it sounds louder than it was at a lower rpm?
Yeah, I-vtec activates, allowing the lobes to open up, allowing more fuel/slight air to get a boost in the engine.
If you have a 2007 civic si and swap to a k24 do you have to have kpro, or can you use hondata
Pretty sure there is a basemap on hondata for a k24 hybrid
Vtec sounds crisp, wuts up with the airbag light on tho
Always done that since i bought it... Pretty sure there is a recall
Thats not airbag light..that light means no woman pregnant allowed
😂😂😂
i would keep vtec around 5-5.5k. but it sounds nice.
dang your etc is high lol mine is 160f under 70 or 60 celcius. man I want my rev limitor at 7500
let me know whenever you swing through Western Mass! I would love to see that thing and show you my FG2
I will bro
Nice man I’ve been watching your videos for a few months know, I’m from CT ass well lord how to comment on video just today, but see you upgrading your SI every day got the flash pro witch is very important hopefully one day we can meet and talk about cars.
eh CT fam lol, been cold AF here lately
The Brown Garage shuuuu tell me bro is frizzing out here and is gonna get worse for New Years pane☃️ where you from.
Where in CT bro? I'm still learning the flashpro, there is a lot to know 💪🏼
Gerb Productions Meriden CT near New Haven but yea I need to grad my 600 for my flashpro hby what part of CT your from.
I'm near the Middletown area
I thought flashing your car would get rid of the rev hang? More of a flywheel thing? Nice ride dude! Subd up for the real feel!
This is honestly a crap basemap bro... Switched it up, car pulls way harder now. Either flywheel or slave cylinder maybe. It's drives way better now. Thanks man, a lot more to come 📹
Which part of Florida are you gonna be in we can hang out take you to some meets
Tallahassee, Boca raton, Orlando, and I'm sure more
hey man if i get a hondata for my accord v6 what would it do for it? does fuel get worse?
Depends what basemap you run & how much vtec you use lol
cool man, how much hp would it unlock for me?
All depends on mods bro. I've seen anywhere from 10-20 hp gained
The dashbord look the same as civic FD, what type of civic is this ?
2007 8th gen civic si fg2
It's the american 8th gen Civic Coupe, it's like a brother of FD Civic...
Am i missing something?? It sounds like a motor revving?
I would assume changing the time vtec engages it would harm the car
I changed to a basemap where the vtec come set at 4250 & 5900... but you're right, don't mess with that, I learned about that when I had a cylinder #2 misfire
idk, i have mine at 3200 and 5800, no problem but im boosted thou
I want a ride lol 👍🏼
Will this keep up with sr20det?
Depends... What's the power output?
Bwwwaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh
Yes... Can't wait to get a legit tune bro
Not sure yet... depends on money & time. I'd like to get a dyno tune, we will see. I've heard a lot about vit though
Pretty cool needs more torque though
Might swap a k24a bottom end or boost one day
Gerb Productions You can turbocharge Hondas pretty easily with junkyard Volvo or Saab turbochargers which tend to be perfect size for Honda but too small for Volvo and Saab. and an eBay manifold.
We shall see 👌🏼
had a 08 si project .. loved launch @3.5 to 4. watching noobs spin lmao.. hondata does alot
Agreed... Hondata is pretty amazing
What’s your knock counts look like ??
Shit dude, was running too lean... Had a buddy refine a baseman for me, runs pretty rich WOT though
Gerb Productions you still get knocks tho right mine are mainly cyl 3
Not many, about 3 per drive... Mine are mainly on 2 and 3, i believe. hbu, how many do you get?
Gerb Productions depends how I drive mine come around 2-3k normal driving ripping and wot I maybe get 1 or no my 3cyl gets like 80 or less not good still having a friend mess with my tune
Take it easy on her for now until you can get that knock count down, seriously. You’ll end up with a misfire code eventually, happened to me
Im sure you have already seen all of the comments about your wot afr's. Bro 14s wot no bueno. That should be at cruisin speeds partial throttle. You must be getting a shit ton of knock to. I would try a few other maps and datalog until you find something safer or return back to stock for the time being till you get a custom tune.
Tryed a map tune, skunk2 & and its way better. A/F is 12.5 -13 WOT
Gerb Productions I think that is the map a ran before i got a tune afr's were pretty good but i think i had a bit of knock. But youll figure it all out as you go.
That A/f ratio
No good... I uploaded a new basemap
spooky
I'm in upstate ny maybe i can come meet up with u sometime
You're not far at all
what honda that it ?
2007 honda civic si
If I get a header Intake and exhaust can you do this tune to my car lmao
I can help you out when you get hondata
Gerb Productions I don’t have the hondata flash pro I was wondering if you can use yours on mine lmao
You’re wiling lol... you can only lock it on one ecu at a time.
Gerb Productions so you wouldn’t be able to tune my car ?
I'm not certified and flashpro is only good for one vehicle
What type of civic is that?
2008 8th gen civic si fg2
what engine its in?
K20
Gerb Productions Is that original or swap'
Original
I’m not a a suber and you pop up on my feed? I must of comment on this video a long time ago
You should become a sub 👍🏼
why is your VTEC so low and why did you did you put it so low?
OG Salinas so vtec kicks in faster .
seems too low tho on mine its at 5600 rpms cuz for that engine youd have to be full throttle and be lugging it at that low of a rpm so idk its his car
Lower vtec engagement for more bottom end torque
GE FILMS which doesn’t matter for a engine like the k20 since it’s all top end so still no point where he’s not in full throttle
I-vtec has two stages of vtec engagement. on my car at w.o.t. vtec engages at 4200 rpm and at partial throttle vtec engages at 5500 rpm. but yeah, lower rpm for more of the secondary cam power.
I swear every Honda video the airbag light is always on lol wtf are we cursed with this airbag sensor problem?
It’s currently off lol. It comes on when it feels like it though. I need to bring mine in for the Takata air bad recall. I’d say we’re cursed though lol
There is that pin method that will take away the light but it's like god dam what happened at Honda with these air bag sensors was someone on LSD or something lol. Also you're so lucky you get to tune your car everything in CA is illegal, I would love to use Hondata Kpro stage 3 cams etc but it would fail Smog in a heartbeat ;T
Ik, luckily CT isn’t that bad with emissions. Still have to bring it through inspection with no cat, that should be interesting 👀
Zero to 60
Eventually!!
14.xx AFR is way too lean man.. put it back to stock until you can afford a proper tune before you ruin your engine.. You should be no higher than 13.2.. I'd be keeping an eye on the knock sensor too...
MultiChimRichalds dude 14.7X is the ideal spot thats like the "sweet spot"
MultiChimRichalds think of the temperatures he's running into gentleman there's snow on the ground it's probably 32 or below... AFR is going to fluctuate until the intake air stream is consistent
Luke Malone yeah at part throttle cruising not at wide open.
Still Available maybe I wasn't clear enough, I was referring to wide open throttle not post throttle cruising.. ideal afr for a k20 at wot is around 13-13.5 (max)
MultiChimRichalds ohh yea true at wide open mines in the 13s

You can’t just lower vtec like that 🤦🏼♂️you have to adjust cam angles and a lot of other stuff .
Trust me, i already learned that... Mine is set to 4250 lower & 5900 rpm on my new skunk2 race calibration. MAP > MAF for now
Baby Honda. I can't hear anything. Then again mine is just an ass hair over 400hp.
Cool, I’ll get There eventually
Still slow
Never said it was fast
That exhaust sounds so bad
Shit-tec
Lol
Car looks really bad. Like a Kia! Glad we don't have those models here in SA
A honda will never be compared to a Kia... Really don't care what your opinion is lol
Gerb Productions whatever dude. I actually like Honda's as well but sorry that car looks almost identical to the Kia Cerato Koup 😂 And in my book anything that resembles a Kia or Hyundai is a major fail lol
You know why, Kia and shitty Hyundai copies everything honda does, but still can''t make them more reliable lol
Gerb Productions I totally agree with you there hahaha
What do you drive?
