  • C.N.G (compressed natural gas) is a cleaner fuel because it causes less pollution by emitting fewer pollutants like carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, particulate matter, unburned hydrocarbons etc.
Compressed natural gas is a clean-burning fuel. It is actually the cleanest of all fossil fuels. Since natural gas is composed mainly of methane, burning it produces carbon dioxide and water vapor. These are the same compounds we exhale when we breathe.
Combustion of natural gas releases very small amounts of these compounds. For instance, carbon monoxide emission is reduced by about 80% in CNG-powered cars compared to gasoline-powered vehicles. CNG also produces 45% less hydrocarbons than gasoline. And although natural gas also produces greenhouse gases, it is considerably reduced compared to gasoline or diesel. This helps reduce the harmful effects of greenhouse gases to the environment particularly through global warming.

I have a CNG vehicle and I love that it doesn’t have smelly exhaust fumes and that CNG fuel is still cheap during these times (March 2022). Only thing is that the range is only 225 miles per full tank.

Isn't LPG only heavier than air when it is compressed to liquid inside the tank? I don't think there is any difference between CNG and LPG leaking in a carpark.

sadly electric vehicles killed off CNG/LPG. I would say CNG makes more sense than EV's

@@EcoSnooki I'd say that the bad thing with CNG is that it's compressed but if you don't buy aftermarket tanks you should be fine.

Only if you fill your tank using natural gas from your home. It can have moisture in it, which can cause problems such as rust in your tank , and entire fuel components. Buy it from a station where it will be clean and dry.

it's the same gas, just stored differently. LNG storage has the potential to be more energy-dense, but the storage equipment is considerably more expensive.

This is absolutely not true! This is a hit on CNG from big oil companies! Way way more gasoline tanks have exploded in collisions, than CNG which is in a much better protected tank.

@@MichaelMosesHammerGas also rises and spreads out. Gasoline as a liquid burns in a pool underneath. There’s a difference in how one as a liquid burns versus how Hydrogen or Methane burn.
