I have had one of these for 2 years and I love it! The reviewers always say that it is for creators, but I find that the dual screens are most useful for everyday users. I keep my email on the bottom screen and what I am working on or watching on the top one. If an email comes in I can see it instantly then open it, delete it or switch the screens back and forth with a touch of a button. My only regret is that I bought the previous generation where the small screen doesn't lift up. When it's time for a new one I will definitely buy this one or the next size up.
Dual displays is useful for lots of things
I love this form factor (but prefer the 15"). Thanks for the review.
Thank you for the hard work and detailed review!
I just bought the i9 13th Gen. Can’t wait
Nice review - thanks for you time
Best review of this laptop I have seen on CZcams
nice detailed review...thanks
Teoh, do think it would be good if i was to purchase separately... to prop the laptop up with an aluminium laptop stand for the same effect. Just saves sticking the ergift stand to the bottom. Keeps the laptop with a clean look.
Loved the detail and the review. Thabk you showing this to me. Many thanks
Not exactly sure what you mean. If you have intention to get the laptop, try it first without the laptop stand, and if you feel like you need the stand you can get that later.
I probably don't recommend a laptop stand because this would mean typing with your hands in the air without palm rest. Try typing like that with your other keyboard first to see how it feels.
Great detailed review! I can definitely see myself using the second screen for my animation timeline. Out of curiosity, have you tried it with a Wacom or other graphics tablet? If you have, is there any kind of clashing or interference between the graphics tablet and the Zenbook's screens or pen?
I've not tried pen displays with this laptop so I can't say for sure. But I don't think there should be any conflicts.
Hi! Great review! What type of cable do you have plugged in on the right side? Dual Thunderbolt? Is this some sort of base station?
That is my USB 4 cable
If you can adjust the sensitivity of the dials, this is a MUCH BETTER implementation than the old Mac TouchBar.
(If you can't adjust the sensitivity, then it's equally worthless.)
You can just use the vertical or horizontal scroll controls which work better than the dial
@@teohontech7141 how fast s the pd fast charging? what is the perfomance on it? is it better perfoming on usb-c power thn lets say a zephyrus m16, which considered the best probably on c power on windows?
@@k.o.t.o.n. It's as fast as your charger can charge. But when gaming and charging at the same time, the charger will not deliver enough for charging.
How is the palm rejection while writing on the second screen? That is my only concern since I plan to write more
Works fine as long as you keep away from the display edges are Windows OS have those pull-out widgets which can get activated accidentally.
Do you know if the control panel on the touchpad would work for Clip Studio Paint?
The Control Panel only works for Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro and Lightroom.
One question I have unanswered is - can you turn the secondary screen off, like, completely? For example, I want to conserve energy and I don't need the secondary screen at the moment. There seem to be no answer to that, almost as if it doesn't even need an answer.
You can turn off the 2nd screen.
How often is it loud? I'm on a MacBook m1 its quiet and lasts all day, but no pen support 🤬
Seems like most companies are not building Wacom EMR. Sad because everything else really sucks
It only gets loud when exporting videos and gaming. The experience of drawing with a pen on a laptop screen isn't ideal
Hi! Apart from better value for pro duo 14, which laptop is better overall between the pro duo 14 and 15? I understand pro duo 15 has better graphics card. But how does the display quality differ since pro duo 14 has 120 hz display?
The display looks similar in quality. 15-inch is 16:9 aspect ratio
@@teohontech7141 the 120 hz higher refresh rate is not noticeable for pro 14? How about brightness comparison? Also, does the 2nd display glitches also occur in pro 15 model? Thanks!
15's second display also glitches. 120hz looks good but for me isnt a big selling point as I'm not really a gamer
How can i use the hide screen option for the screen pad. It used to give me the option but now its gone
You can hide it through Windows settings (Winkey + I).
Can I edit 4k videos on multi layer smoothly, plz reply me your answer as in percentage ( 0% to 100% )
Yes it can. This is one of top 3 laptops from ASUS.
@@teohontech7141 Is 16GB RAM enough for 4K Multilayer video editing?
Can i charge this laptop via USB TYPE C 100W?
Yes
Can we run 4k 60fps on this laptop well video editing
Yes, smooth in Davinci Resolve Edit mode, but not Cut mode.
The reflection is serious ? The main screen wobble obviously than other laptop design ? And And fan noise stronger than M1 Mac ?
wallpaper link please
I might have download the wallpaper from unsplash.com
@@teohontech7141 thank you . Just one more question I saw the 15 oled duo Zenbook today in the store and strangely the second screen looks more tilted than the 14 oled duo . Am I crazy or that's the case ?
@@hk6926 The Zenbook Pro Duo 15 (2021) has a higher 2nd display because the main display will prop up the laptop, and the 2nd display will also prop up. ASUS should have used that design here with the 14. Missed opportunity there because that's a better design. But overall the 14 is a better laptop just with a small display. See my 15 review here czcams.com/video/0y6GXUN8yt0/video.html
@@teohontech7141 can't agree more . I got the 14 and love it alot just I think the second screen doesn't prop up so much and also the battery life is bad . I wish they had the same duo 15 design with amd processor . This is my third 12th gen laptop and really not liking this chip .
How does this compete with iPad (sidecar) + mbp14
Way better than this setup.
Detachable to iPadOS and way better battery life.
The fans sound like a jet engine … not impressed
iPad Pro 11 and MBP 14 is 2.066kg. This Zenbook Duo is 1.75kg, and thinner. With the iPad Pro you also need more space on the side on the table. Compromises.
