I never get tired of hearing JD talk that realness. It's a shame he even feels the need to have to explain why he's still relevant. This man is criminally underrated and has been his whole career. When you hear that "y'all know what this is" tagline it's time to tune in and prepare for some ish.

Great interview. I love hearing the origins of hip hop straight from the people that were there. Especially from a music/dj perspective.
Y’all doing a service. This history can now be told to those who only hear about it or think hip hop started in the 2000’s. 👊🏾

I remember getting JERMAINE DUPRI book (Young Rich and Dangers back in the days when I was in community college at the time, when I did my study on him, I got b+. Since then, it was a big game changer learning a lot from this man. Till this day I still remember that he was a home school kid, just like I was. This is a great interview.

Nahh idk what they were talking about in the beginning. Idt Jermaine records sound East Coast or West Coast. His records sounds like Jermaine records. And that bow wow video used to haunt me as a kid him and snoop turning into dogs.

Funkdafied came out at about the same time Snoop's singles were coming out from Doggystyle and it sounds 100% West Coast
i was trying to figure out what Da Brat's relation to the West Coast was, i don't live in the states, it was kind of confusing to me, i thought they had bit the West Coast sound, forget sound, the whole style

JD trippin about AI. IDK about big markets but I see smaller markets FLOODED with real djs who can't mix a lick and the audience really doesn't care. I'm talking about people literally playing clubs with spotify playlists. Add that AI can see real time up to the moment stats on what people are listening to, where they stop listening, what they listen to after that ect it's a receipe for success. I'm sure having a real dj will be a niche thing
