White Dress vocals, exploring childhood pain and issues with her father's wife, and I've seen a few women say that first line, haven't done cartwheels since I was nine... and then straight to not speaking to her Mom- they've said their Moms said they had to stop doing cartwheels, somersaults and things like this in early childhood so "men wouldn't get the wrong idea." Putting the responsibility for men's thoughts onto children, being punished for just being a girl. Already being told our bodies can be shameful and to always be prim, proper and modest. And then moving into body confidence and also talking about feeling used and being used sexually by young men- so relatable, so honest. I totally agree, Lana spills everything without actually saying much. She doesn't spell it out but it feels like she is giving so much information. Her writing is beyond comprehension. And then straight into Lizzy Grant era! Reminds me so much of Paradise! I listened to one right after the other and they were perfect together.
