@filmart430 it's very simple. A Fuse has 4 parts to it, 2 blades, a body and a fusable link inside of the body that is sized to with stand the ampacity that is called out on the top of the fuse. Anything more than the given ampacity and the fuse is designed to get hot and melt in half or "blow" like you do. On the top of the fuse you will notice there are 2 small parts of metal, those are connected to the blades on the bottom side individually so you can take your test light or a multimeter and in your case you had better use a test light because I know for sure you won't be able to figure out a multimeter.... You test it against ground. If the test light lights up with the alligator clip connected to a good ground then you have found 12v DC electricity. As the fuse is designed, you will have 12v DC on both sides of the fuse unless it's blown, then it will oonly have 12v on one side. There you little crybaby, now you know how to test fuses.... Like I said, if you knew basic DC electricity, you would have known exactly what the guy was doing instead of trying to say some dumb passive aggressive shit to try and hide the fact that you won't go investigate Google at least just to educate yourself. Well obviously you can see he was testing to see if the reason it blew is still current but it wasn’t so that’s why he continued Maybe it’s intermittent Yk? Electrical isn’t all that easy once you get to the more complex diagnostics
He wasn’t sending power, he was testing if the other side of the fuse was grounded. If it was grounded then that means the reason the fuse popped is still current. Plus test lights can’t send power, all you are doing is testing a circuit for power and ground 🙌🏽
@@beymaster102while it most likely will not hurt anything it actually does load the circuit with the 150-200ma from the incandescent bulb and you’re completing the circuit by touching a b+ side to ground or ground side to b+.

That test is "informative" but inconclusive. That little 4-watt bulb will only identify continuity (or not). Better to use a 55-w bulb. Stays off? No continuity. Glows dim? It's powering whatever is downstream. Glows BRIGHT? Short.

On the broken fuse one side got power another side got nothing when test light connected to battery negative, check this side with test light connect positive if test light light up that’s mean circuit short to ground

He is checking a blown fuse with test light. Thats it.
Would have been quicker to pull the fuse and check it.
Maybe 🤷♀️, but it’s literally the same thing lol
So basically you have located a blown fuse and just replace it without knowing what caused it to blow? Good luck with that.

My thoughts exactly the second he connected to the positive post
Changes fuse. Blows.... rips out dash for electrical shorts....
Story of my projects
You could pull the fuse to see that it’s blown.
Thatvwasca short that was a blown fuse!
Checking for a short 2 ground b4 he puts new fuse in. The first test already told him fuse was blown.

You need complete circuit check
@@AutomotiveServiceExcellence thank , acc fuse happened to be missing

Why did he move the connection from negative to positive when he was checking the side of the fuse that showed bad on negative?

Damn it's that easy huh😮
No, it's not. You have to find what caused that fuse to blow
That leaf is bothering me. Must be My OCD!😂
Dont make silent movies this isint the 1800s
Replaces the fuse but doesn’t even inspect the circuit 🤡
How do you check the 30 and 40s box fuse? Do you have to take off that clear plastic top and check the brass contact pins?
Yes
Pry clear top off

Check wires on the side was accident
Disconnect the wires from connectors them ohm to check for continuity to ground

Did you put the test light on the negitive to to check
Yes of course

Does it matter if you put it on positive or negative?
Yes

Follow main wires maybe fuses link
can a fuse used in earth wire ?🤔
