Nice, fresh assortment there. I loved the Smokey and the Miracles cover of the Chi-Lites.

Hi John. The Soul Jazz Records compilation reminded me of the page filled advertisements they did back in the day. A personal favorite at that time was the Straight No Chaser magazine. Too bad it stopped many years ago. Cheers. /Paul

That Curtis record is so good and one of his strongest. Definitely overlooked because there is not much joy to be had but blimey, it is sublime. Blue Monday People is gorgeous - moves me every time I play it. I have most of the Gil Scott Heron records. My favourite song by him is Lady Day and John Coltrane. It is about time I pull that out again. You just have to pick up the Pablo record. Hypnotic stuff there. All the best to you. Cheers, Steve.

Some great finds there. I always remember Luther Ingram's northern soul stormer "If It's All The Same To You Babe".

I had that Curtis Mayfield record for years before I actually began to enjoy it. It represented so much of what I disliked about Soul, but now I really enjoy it. It used to sound syrupy to my ears but now it sounds warm.

Some top shows there John , I recently picked up the all analogue reissue of ' Free Will ' as an upgrade to my earlier copy , it is a wonderful album in my opinion . I love 200% Dynamite as well plus good shows of Augustus Pablo and Curtis Mayfield 👌

Nice finds John. I have a few of the Soul Jazz reggae comps but would like a few more. Hats is definitely a 10. Wow is that the actual record that Brumseller found at the boot sale, I saw that video...

Oh yes - Solomon Burke. What a voice - I love Baby Come on Home. Strangely enough I don’t have any of his records on vinyl so I need to get looking lol. Some great finds there John! 👍

Cheers, Andy. I only have a couple of Solomon Burke’s records on vinyl. I don’t see them around very often. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of his stuff. That voice!

Hi John, I often think Stankonia gets a bit overlooked, despite the success of Miss Jackson. It's a pretty decent record and nive to have it in LP even without a cover. All of their albums are great and have something different. My heart will always go with aquemini though. Cheers

I bet the second side of Gil SH is pretty boring!! lol. Now I have to listen to The Blue Nile - I think I’ve heard it before but I’ll have to see. Best of S Burke looks like it’s in perfect condition. I wanna watch you fold your Dynaflex album! Great video.

Never got around to any of the Dynamite comps from Soul Jazz but I've been filling in some of my gaps in their Studio One releases with the recent reissues they've been putting out. Never seen that Smokey & the Miracles one. Got Hats around - was not familiar with Blue Nile until getting on here and hearing people mention them. Then soon after came across that and A Walk Across The Rooftops. Almost pulled that Crusaders out for a spin the other day, still looking for the Curtis though, cheers!

Hi Doug. 100% Dynamite was one of the first reggae albums that I bought. Soul Jazz comps are always excellent. The high watermark of compilations, for me. The Blue Nike album is pretty hard to find on vinyl over here, you did well to find a copy. It’s a beautiful record. I could listen to Paul Buchanan sing the phone book; his voice is just sublime. Cheers. John

Great stuff John. I love Stankonia, though I haven't heard it for years. The Love Below I also haven't heard for yonks, must go back to that. Amazing to see Hats on vinyl, I've been after a copy of that and Walk Across the Rooftops for about 20 years. My dad got me a copy of that Solomon CD back in the day, great stuff.

Always on the lookout for «Hats». Never seen it «in the wild» in Norway since I became aware of it some fifteen years ago, though I stumble upon their first album (of which I am a proud owner) semi-regularly. Seems to me their reputation has been rising steadily these last years - and rightly so. Recently bought the debut album from their keyboardist’s project, PJ Moore & Co, «When A Good Day Comes». Not too shabby, though it lacks the x factor of Buchanan’s stunning voice.

That 200% Dynamite is a killer selection, especially Tom Drunk, Herb Man Dub and Boris Gardiner's version of Melting Pot. I believe you showed the album version of that, didn't you?
