I’m Scottish, ‘the little people’, or fairies, they’re referred to as different names but it’s absolutely a huge part of the history in the highlands specifically. I’ve heard stories, when I’ve been staying in the highlands I always leave them offerings. That’s so fascinating. I haven’t had any experiences but it feels… different? sometimes. I’d love more Scottish stories if there are any!!
Ok for the burning fingers one, this actually sounds like a nerve disorder which you should definitely have checked out. It could be related to hereditary neuropathy or other nerve disorders that fire pain signals that sound just like what you were experiencing. It can last hours, happen frequently, and is just mis-responding to physical stimuli. On the chance it's a nerve disorder, I would seek medical attention because it will likely come back and can actually damage your nerves
