I know, right? We need more bands like For Today, that aren't afraid to call themselves Christian and preach about Jesus in front of the type of crowd that possibly despises Christianity. These guys are a real inspiration to me.
There is a difference between shoving beliefs and declaring truth. He is declaring the truth, how you perceive it is on you. He is the only man that has the balls to do this.
I saw their final show in Chicago last night. It was my first time seeing them headline. I thought they were great. I really appreciated what Mattie had to say.
For Today, man. I cannot think of a group of people that have been more of an inspiration to me in finding my direction with God than these guys. Respect.
I spoke to Mattie about this back in April when they came through Raleigh, NC. I think you might be surprised at his answer. He IS all about a relationship with Jesus, but (and I wish I could remember his words exactly) he also recognizes that it is religion. They way he explained it was kinda like a merging of the two Unfortunately we had technical problems that night and the audio on the interview is bad.

My question is why would you watch a video that clearly states that he is preaching if you didn't want to hear it, other than to go out of your way to post a negative comment? The best thing I can offer is that if you don't want to hear, don't go to their shows, and don't watch videos of him preaching. The thing about CZcams, and going to a for Today show, is that it's your choice......

I don't understand this argument. This message is not forced on people. No one is forced to come, nor are they locked in. They can leave at any time. Even more basic than that, though, iswhy are you at this performance, or watching this video, if you don't want to hear it? Everyone that listens to hardcore knows that For Today is a Christian band and that they are going to talk about this. Is their music so good that you would go to see them even though you hate the Christianity aspect?
Than know who you're going to see before you pay for their show. If he talked about being an Atheist I bet you would've never thought about him shoving his beliefs down your throat.
There's actually a lot of debate over the meaning of the sign. There's several believed origins, therefore several ways people take it. Idk, just my two cents.
Also, I just noticed if you're talking about the dude in the front... that's not the same sign. What he did is American Sign Language for "I love you". Haha
