    Cassie you are a top notch driver. You have so much work to do with loading and unloading. I don’t think drivers here in the US have nearly as much involvement with that part. The number of times you had to climb in and out of the truck for this loading is nuts.
    And I feel bad for you the amount of work you had to do on this video blurring out stuff.
    I assume some of this because of security for place you were loading and some to do with your own safety.
    Great video and much respect for what you do.

      There basically are a few little hints and tricks on how to do it (for example, every combo like this has a "holding point" where the trailer will keep going as it is right now instead of tightening the curve or getting shallower - you just have to figure out where that point is, and in reality, you can always mark that point with a strip of tape or so), and practice plays a big role of course, too. It took me a while until it "clicked" and I understood how to see the whole situation, but according to my instructor, some people have a realy talent and can basically back a similar combo (just with a shorter trailer) from a 90° angle into a tight spot almost right away, while others never learn to even get it around a street corner (which is what you have to do to get your licence for driving _any_ heavy trailer here in Germany), even after dozens of hours of training and practice.

    Greetings from Scotland! Again a great demonstration video "How to" do things correctly Cassie. You always impress me just how easy you make that dock reverse look with the trailer on. I was intrigued what the load was (because of blurring) - so I made up a wee story......
    "This was an underground government facility which develops very sensitive secret equipment! Special Agent Razorkittn is the only one licensed to carry this type of equipment because of it's dangerous properties! The delivery was carried out in total darkness at a remote facility in the wilderness area of Linköping" Tomorrow's episode, "Razorkittn saves the universe!"..........

    Hi, Cassie. Perhaps the sloped dock approach is to prevent trucks or trailers from accidentally pulling away from the dock. There are videos that show that happening as drivers maneuver forks lifts onto the vehicle with disastrous results. Cheers from Canada.

    • @subwooferbone
      @subwooferbone Před 2 lety

      I _think_ it’s more a question of building costs, but it would have a safety function as well. Most industrial buildings are a steel shell on a concrete slab. You have to move much less material if the loading ramp is sunk into the ground rather than having to raise the entire slab to the same height.

    • @leighmackay7486
      @leighmackay7486 Před 2 lety

      @@subwooferbone Quite right, Joachim. Building costs are the motivating influences for the sloped ramps. The safety gain is incidental. To address that issue I see some companies require truckers to use provided tire blocks to prevent accidentally rolling away from the bay. Cheers!

    Hi. I’m a long haul trucker from the states . I find truck driving in other countries fascinating. So I have acouple questions about how things work . Do other countries have hours restrictions like we do here ? We arnt allowed to drive more then 11 hours a day and 70 hours a week . A lot of the older drivers don’t like this because the live on the road and want to drive all day everyday day .
    Question 2 . Here we have weight restrictions. No truck is allowed to weight more then 80,000 pounds loaded some may be over with special permits . But typically it’s not allowed

    • @ulvtharm
      @ulvtharm Před rokem

      1. Kind of complicated. 56 hours per week but two consecutive weeks can only be 90 hours. 9 hours per day and two days a week 10 hours. You have to take 45 minute breaks in 1x45 minutes or 1x15 and 1x40 minutes in every 4h30m. There are more rules but is complicated. Time between shifts etc.
      2. 140000 lbs is standard. In Sweden some configurations are 200000 lbs. Also we are experimenting with 250000lbs with permits.

    Question Cassie, well 2 actually, can you brake the trailer separate from your truck? In the US it’s called the trolley brake. Also the back of your trailer, is it fully water tight for rain and snow with the half door and lift gate?? Doesn’t look like a tight seal?? I have my doubles endorsement but have never pulled them, your setup looks so much easier to unhook and rehook😘😘😘💪😎😎 Laughed a little with the TOP SECRET CARGO??
