They’re fascinating machines when you can catch them! Especially at night. Just be careful. They have curtains on the sides to try to catch the sparks, but some can still fly off at weird angles and be dangerous.

Very interesting. We have a few railroad crossings in my area in South Central PA and I’ve never seen those grinders at night before.
