Citizenship by Naturalization is the process of a foreign national voluntarily acquiring citizenship through an application. To become a naturalized citizen, you must have lived in the nation legally for a long period and pass a citizenship test on foreign language, history, and political system issues. Some states need proof of lawful income as well as ownership or rental housing.
A foreigner who has lived in the country legally for a long time can become a citizen. You can, for example, enter Australia on a student visa and petition for citizenship after four years. What conditions must be met in order to become a naturalized citizen, and how to navigate the route of integration into a new society as easily as possible? Different countries have different requirements.
In this video, Andrew shares the rare European citizenship nobody understands.

As an Austrian citizen I‘m really annoyed by the fact, that I‘m not allowed to obtain a second citizenship at all without loosing my Austrian. I grew up here and pay my taxes in Austria. But some random person coming to Austria can keep theirs!
Optionallity? Did I hear that correctly? Didn’t it use to be “ if you want options”
Arnold Schwarzenegger has a second Citizenship.
@OP4K Yeah, that‘s a rare exception because he’s an important person to the country. As an ordinary citizen you don’t get to keep your citizenship.
You're a citizen, talk to your rep!
Does this apply to children with one Austrian parent? Do they have to choose?
Andrew, big fan here. Please drop the music in the background. When I find myself squinting my eyes to hear what you're saying, that means the background music is too loud. Please drop it so I can hear what you're saying. That's what I'm personally interested in. Just sharing my opinion. Cheers bud
Austria almost mandated the jaab & steep fines for noncompliance. Let that sink in.
*Don't worry about that the Austrian government doesn't have any backbone. They mandate nobody cares and that's it. They tried it, but the best thing you can do is close the door in their face 😂*
Nasty spiteful globalists camp!
Thomas your are correct. Actually, almost everywhere in Europe had the same or very similar fines/noncompliance mandates. I am very wary of anywhere in Europe for this reason.
@@kellyname5733 probably Poland was one country who who didn’t…
Fine by me.
Please, no background music.
This style of video with bg music is better for opening, not the whole video.
Andrew a BIG THANKS for this free EDUCATION, THANK YOU for your time and for sharing your knowledge. LOVE FROM PORTUGAL
❤️
Big love to you Andrew from all the Aussies getting ready to escape this fascist country..... It baffles me that people would want to move here after how they treated us citizens (insert sarcastic tone here). Keep being epic. Love your channel mate.
Please do not add background music to future videos it is very distracting and completely unnecessary
Many agree!
HI ANDREW I'M MOVING TO MALAYSIA 🇲🇾 BECAUSE OF YOU CONVINCED ME HOW GOOD IS MALAYSIA 👍
THANKS 😊
2:16 - wait what? Abu Dhabi (UAE) actually granted someone citizenship? Interesting times.
Austria 🇦🇹 is for people who think Switzerland is too full of themselves. Vienna usually tops lifestyle lists. So Austria is worth a second look.
or for people who aren't millionaires 😅
Austria is backward, corrupt, right-wing and has no future. I emigrated from this shitty country, the country has no future.
Unlike in Switzerland, dual citizenship is not possible. Unless you know an official well personally, which is not the case for most
NOMAD I HAVE BEEN LISTENING TO YOU FOR QUITE A WHILE! THANK YOU FOR ALL THE KNOWLEDGE SIR!
The music was distracting...not needed with your excellent information.
And yet viewership on more highly edited videos tends to be much higher. People can't decide whether they want the information or not.
@@nomadcapitalist I don't know what other people want, but when the music is too loud, it is distracting from the message. The editing to include different camera angles and clips of the various cities/countries mentioned is nice. The music wasn't, in my opinion.
@@TheEmperor000😂😂😂😂
I want to take over an Austrian snow globe factory!
Very interesting, thank you Andrew
Great information. Can you please do a video on Morocco, residence there and investing in real estate
Love your books and videos Andrew, but I agree with others....the music is a distraction and adds nothing.
Can you cover the case of instant citizenship in France for citizen of french speaking countries? It's a strange case, but it apparently work if you're willing to be resident you can apply on arrival. It's article 21-20
Yes I am also very interested in the above can you clarify? Would be very grateful! Thank you in advance.
is that still in force?
wait whaaaaat. yes please cover this
HAITI IS PACKING THEIR BAGS
Please Andrew, make a video on this
does the premium video comes with no audio background?
@@TheEmperor000 You keep saying this, but you're mistaken.
Nomad Capitalist to a funky beat - that's different!
Hey Andrew, Always enjoy the information you provide. Could you and your team do a show about the common markets in the world that offer freedom of movement in their matket and a possibly a recommended entry point citizenship in each common market. ie... EU, CARICOM, MERCOSUR, ASEAN, etc
Check the numbeo safety index and go based on the safest entry point. No point choosing Brazil and getting killed 😂
Since many people dislike the background music, perhaps this channel can just play the background music for the intro only? It's not too difficult to have the music's volume quiet down and fade away completely before Andrew starts talking. Listen to the comments. Most of them are giving useful feedback.
He's too arrogant to listen.
I see that even a lot of Austrians are annoyed by these rules, if Austrians want a change they should vote for Parties that are less restrictive regarding citizenships, I’ve done a quick research on the people who make decisions there and the majority votes ( 50%+) in the parlament goes to a party which is very restrictive and close minded regarding this issue
Very good infos for rich people.Something too for the freedom people too .
from submission of application to approval, how much time it takes for Austria?
The Music detracts from the great content
I love this channel. Thanks for sharing some light!
Thanks for watching!
Can you talk more and give more explanation about how working remotely for one country as a citizen works while actually living abroad.
Hi from Andorra
hi from canillo
Hello!
@@nomadcapitalistMy son is 13 years old and he's incredibly talented in football. Austria could be a great country for him to pursue his career.
What about UK citizens and the non domain paying tax
Hi Andrew. In what situations can descendants of people who left America and or Canada get citizenship rights? Case in point " Merikins" Black Americans who were given asylum in Canada and other countries. Can their descendants claim citizenship?
now me is more happy to be such a citizen already; all the hoops to get citizenships is nauseating :D
If your Jewish parents or grandparents had to flee Austria when the Germans took over in the !930's you can now claim Austrian citizenship.
Still available? But i think it prohibited dual citizenship, had jab requirements, and a certain income level. Even worse than Spain did. May want to wait for Spain to reinstate theirs. Would look into doing the investigation in Portugal to get the Jewish community certificate (CIL) then using it for Spain when it opens. 500 euros for the CIL + 200 for sisters and brother or cousins. Worth having and being one of the first in line to apply when it opens.
Doesn't prohibit dual citizenship and doesn't have residency or income requirements.
Good example of this is Denise Eisenber Rich who got Austrian citizenship (and resigned her American) through her late father who was born in Austria-Hungary.
@@comeforaride no holocaust descendents do not need to renounce citizenship they are allowed dual by austria. as far as portugal the path will close 31/12/2023 and will be open until then but requires inheritances in the country or frequent visitation during lifetime when those facts demostrate effective and long lasting link to portugal. Spain requires 2 year residency for sephardic jews. if it will be back without residency requirement no one knows.
@@carolinavarela1572 Portugal now requires inherited property. So it's almost impossible. We did it under the old rules. Besides needing to learn Portuguese, it was the most favorable way to go, even compared to Spain.
I love Austria, too bad i don't have enough funds to invest that much.
They used to (i have not looked in a couple years, still might) have a program if you were a descendent or descendent of a Jew (I think they were actually offering for both Sefardí and Ashkenazi). May want to look into that. If you can trace a Sefardí 500 years back, Spain is brining their citizenship program back. Portugal has, in effect, closed that by making the hoops to jump through quite high.
My wife would love to get her Austrian citizenship. If only they offered it to people who were born there but whose parents chose not to pursue it.
Generally speaking, how many generations back are permitted for the citizenship by descent programs?
It depends; anywhere from parents only to as far back as the country existed. Usually three is a good number, and some have opened up. You can email our team at help@nomadcapitalist.com if you have a specific case you need help with.
@@nomadcapitalist Thanks very much. I may just do that, Andrew. Thanks for all your hard work over the years. Safe travels!
Hi Andrew 😊
I don't want to trade one citizenship for another. I want to 'add' citizenship.
This does not require you to trade.
Please....Which country will protect us from this 6th mass extinction?
Man! how many videos are you making?!
More than 2,200 and counting. 😎

The background music is very jarring! Please drop it!!
When you make the same money as ANDREW > You will play the same TUNE in your U-TUBE video!
Does Croatia have a similar program?
I like the music. Decrease the volume…
Wait a minute.. Since when Austria recognizes multiple citizenship? Did I miss something?
They do when by exception.
Exceptional citizenships don't follow the same rules. Like getting an honorary degree when making a graduation ceremony speech without having to sit in those pesky classes or taking exams. Haha.
No video today
how does it applied in the Netherlands?
The Netherlands doesn't do this.
Hi Andrew
How can one activate article 21-20? Please reply back. Thank you for your time.
There is a mistake here. Article 21-20 just says a person from a french-speaking country is not obliged to learn French in order to apply for citizenship.
If you don't speak French, you won't get the French citizenship (unless you were born on the French soil, or your parents are French). There is an exam to pass.
Funny how hard part of my family worked to leave that Empire, only for me to aspire to repatriation! 👀😮💨
Not to be morbid, but this actually answers a question that was indexed in the back of my mind a few years ago. Long story short, when Epstein's residence on 71st Street was raided, they found an Austrian passport in a drawer. (Read More)
Like most people, my initial thoughts were something super shady, but after watching this video, it may have just been a legitimate investment for something the Austrian government liked or wanted.
I give it 50/50. 50% chance something more sinister may have been at play, or 50% chance it was legitimate and Austria's name just got tossed into an unpleasant bucket in regards to a legal document.
Love your channel. I'm nowhere near wealthy enough to participate in these programs at the current time, but I love the information.
Keep up the great work. I think even the everyday, "normal net worth" individual can greatly benefit from this information.
The music is fine, jesus boomers.
Lower volume background music please
Anyone has any babies available for hire in Austria? Would be for one afternoon, dry weather. I can't afford to pay much, but I guarantee that the baby will become a YT sensation.
FIRST!!!!
Background music is horrid.
‼️‼️🤾🏽♀️
I'm sure a lot of "talented" porn actresses can get fast tracked for some of these passports...especially in the UAE.
improve audio ducking and stop the ear ravaging hit on the intro, it’s really a turnoff.
Austria is overvalued, don’t do it.
The editing style in this video is very off-brand for Nomad Capitalist. The music, obvious stock footage, jiggiling text, fast swipes/whip-around scene transitions…this is not what I expect when I watch a video on this channel. It looks cheap and geared toward a much different audience (and not an audience that can drop millions of euros on Austrian citizenship)
Yeah, I find the background music and stock photos/videos off-putting. It's not what I associate with Andrew or Nomad Capitalist.
Dude what is happening in this video? Stop the music man
